I love the Vintage Christmas 1 and 2. I made them both and adore them. I have the Christmas Ville pattern and want to stitch that up. (I love Sweetwater Christmas fabrics too and have plenty of leftover scraps) As I watched your trunk show I realized, that I have purchased and made most of these projects. I really enjoyed this video! It gave me some great ideas for my sewing group. I have been volunteering for over 6 months now teaching a single mom and her 5 children how to sew on a matching. Ages 10 to 18, 3 girls, 2 boys. So I'm putting on my list some Christmas sewing projects!! I can't wait. Trying to keep the cost down as I'm a single senior.
Everything beautiful. Everything I’ve made came from your videos….sewing/quilting and some crochet/knitting. No cross stitch yet. Can’t believe where you get the time. You have a big family and large house to look after! I love your videos….I keep waiting for new ideas. Going to start some of your quilts for grandchildren. Love your jellyroll quilts as I have 15 grandchildren, and those look fairly fast. I usually QAYG, so they take a lot of work…and have to make queen or king sizes

I love your Vintage II….It’s ONE of your patterns I have. Not sure where all my hours will come from. I love ALLyour patterns. I need to make it bigger though. Entire family has queen or king sized beds….(deep breath…lol)
I like to think the large bldg is the BARN. I grew up on a farm, so I’ll pretend it IS….love it (love them all)

I've been following your channel for awhile now, and I have loved doing the sew-along quilt. I can't wait to see how we are to finish it. I was a homeschooler, too. Love these quilt trunk show videos! I had forgotten about some of these. I need to finish up my 2021 stitchy ornaments so I can be ready to stitch along with you for this year's series. I'm glad you are doing another series. I would love to see a new idea or two of how to finish them (other than the 3" embroidery hoops) so we could switch up the look of them.

Here in Europe they are only 24 hours long…, have really no idea how you manage to do all this great things, besides the tutorials, the videos, the housework, the animals, your husband, the homeschooling of your children. I do have a question, I know you use minky or fur on several of your quilts, so your quilts stay together when you use minky or fur and just stitch along the front binding and it’s good?
You can quilt the milky if you want to, but I've always been a little nervous to do that on my Juki TL2000. Now that I have a long arm I would be willing to try it! But before that, I will quilt the top to the batting, then add the minky when I add my binding. Then I go back around and stitch
in the ditch to secure it. I did a self-binding tutorial for one of my fur backed quilts as well and that worked great. I'll do a tutorial soon.

Hello. I loved the quilt you made for your daughter. the Rag Quilt. I have never done a Quilt but I’m going to have a baby in December. I was wondering what size could be made for a baby. I would like to do it smaller. Please advice how many I should add sizes and what size materials should be cut. It well be appreciated. I love your tutorials. if I’m able to do it. I will send you my art from what you have given your tutorial arts. Thank you.
Hi, I believe a standard baby quilt is about 30" x 40" or crib would be 36" x 52". So if you do the 10" x 10" squares like in the Rag Quilt video, you'll want to do 4 across and 5 down for a baby quilt. But of course you can add more if you want it a tad larger as well. The blocks finish at 8" x 8" after they're sewn in, so you can do the math to decide how many to cut.

Thank you! On the Merry Noel quilt you said you backed it with fleece? Did you quilt it through the backing? I couldn't see stitching on the back. But the front looked quilted.
No, on that one I quilted the top + batting, then added the fleece to the back and quilted around the edges to hold it in place.

Do you have a suggestion for a computer program to make cross stitch patterns? I want to make a cross stitch pattern of each of my Huskies! We recently had our oldest cross the rainbow bridge and I want to make a cross stitch portrait of my favorite photo of her. Thank you!

Hi Erica, I love your videos and love all of your amazing work! Can I ask why you use moda white 9900-97 instead of 9900-98? I went to my local quilt shop today and they said 97 was PFD, and that I shouldn't use it unless I prewash it? Do you ever have problems with your colors bleeding on it? Or do you prewash everything? Thanks!
Hi, the 98 is too bright white in my opinion. The 97 is a bit more of a creamy white. The PFD is "prepared for dye" and yes, it can absorb colors. That said I still use it, but I do make sure to use a Shout Color Catcher for the first few washes just to be safe. I have never had an issue except one time, and that is because I purchased a cheaper red fabric from a big box store, and it bled all over my white! Otherwise it has been fine.

The quilt that you put the cuddly back on plus a batting, did you quilt it with just the top and batting and then add the cuddly backing after? I did notice any quilting on the backing.
Yes, just quilted the top + batting then added the backing when I did the binding. You can also go through and add a few tacking stitches throughout if you want, or even stitch in the ditch to secure the backing. I didn't really do that and it's been fine.

Do you have a tutorial on the Snowy Day Quilt?
I have a question on The Snowy Day quilt the technique of inside out. Can you do the same technique if you are using cuddle fabric for the backing? Since cuddle & minky tend to move?I know the video is a year old so I hope you still red new messages. Thank you
Where do you get your sweet water fabric? Is that the name of a site of name of fabric?
Sweetwater fabric for moda, you can get it on Etsy and fat quarter shop usually

LOL! I say USE YT to learn! Sometimes I set a timer so I'm not on too long, that way I'll go and actually do something myself!

I use small thumb tacks or straight pins :)
