Luke, you inspire me as a man that I can do better with my body, so thank you.. You notice how young children jump up and down, twist their bodies in different ways, and run with abandon. How do they know to do all this? Inborn instinct of the human species? Then we tell the kids to stop moving so much and act more like adults. No wonder we, as adults, have so many problems with our physical and mental health.
Thank you, Joseph. I don't intend to make anyone feel like they are lacking or that they should do anything that I say - my aim is only to share the ideas and tools that seem to have worked for me. But it does warm my heart when I see something has resonated or helped! To your point on how we seem to lose that freedom of movement over time - I completely agree. Frank Forencich is someone who has written a fair bit about this idea - you might like his book Exuberant Animal. As we age it becomes less and less socially acceptable to move our bodies in the huge variety of ways we would as children - jumping crawling, clambering, balancing etc. We're told to sit still and suppress those natural instincts. And as I've learned over the past few years in my recovery from health conditions, suppression is often one of the main contributors, if not the main cause in many cases!
Thanks friend! That's definitely something I can look into doing more of. I have a number of follow-along mobility & rope flow sessions coming soon, but I'm planning on following those up with a more strength-focused period. Let me know what else you'd like to see! :)
I've been really busy lately, and rarely watch RUclips nowadays, but I had to watch this. I love bouncing and shaking. It's kinda weird in the beginning, but once you get a hang of it, it feels pretty nice. I'm glad to hear your recovery has been going well. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Thank you Tamara! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment :) Yeah i's definitely a strange one, but as you said, it feels nice! Cheers - yes I'm definitely getting there and in a much better place than I could have imagined a year or two back. Currently working on another project centred around chronic pain recovery that I'm hoping to share soon :)
hey bro , anxiety is directly linked to nutrition , try some mushroom complexes and organic fruit and veg ...were you comfort eating ? cbg cbd oiis are also good to help the brain ...
Thanks for the insight mate! There certainly can be a link between nutrition and anxiety, and I've settled on a regime that works for me after 15+ years of experimentation with various modalities, supplementation etc. I had quite adverse effects from both CBG & CBD, and not ever noticed much difference with shroom complexes, unfortunately, so I guess it really varies from person to person! But I appreciate the suggestions! The things that have helped me the most are getting back to regular movement, journalling, somatic tracking, deep rest, self-compassion & therapy.
I have heard of TRE (tension relieve exercises) and it is all about shaking. It is used in breathwork too, so I guess they have some therapeutics effects. Thank you for sharing Luke. All the best.
Yes! TRE is something I experimented with over the last few years as I went through therapy. There were definitely times when it seemed to discharge some of that stored stress and help process things. And as you said, we see shaking used in various forms of breathwork, and practices like qigong too. Thank you for commenting, hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hi, I really appreciate your video. Could you please do a follow along workout. Kettlebell swings and dumbbells push press. Thank you.

Just found your channel through a search for bouncing. I really like it ❤
Thank you, much appreciated! Hope there's some value there for you!
have you ever looked into rebounding? Jumping on a mini trampoline? sounds very similar to what you are talking about
Yep I’m a big fan! I mention it briefly near the end of the video 👍
