I love it!!! it looks beautiful!!! It actually looks like a piece of marble in the form of an egg. It's the most beautiful project using an egg I've ever seen
+Loretto Ponton Thank you so much! It is one of the easier ways to do a polymer clay egg too. The most important thing in this project is sanding it completely smooth, it really makes all the difference.
Wow these are absolutely amazing! I have a whole collection of marble stone eggs and they look just like yours! Actually I like the look of yours better. I' can't believe they are made of clay. Can't wait to go try this!
Wow, you are amazing! This was literally the best tutorial I've ever seen! It's quick and to the point but you talked about each step. My only question, because I am fairly new to polymer clay, one you have the tell colors twisted to your liking, which way to you put it into the pasta machine and how many times? Thank you! ♥️
Amazing tutorial, I really want to make some, I used to have marble eggs when I was a teenager, so I want to try it, it was so easy to follow, marbling clay it's so much fun, I hope you're better and your family as well, take care ;)
Hi Heather, I'm sorry to hear that you are sick again. I am also sick, so I feel your pain. I made something like these only I had the advantage of not having to prep the eggs. During Easter the Walmart near me had cartons of eggs that wear already drained and dried and ready for decorating on clearance. They were only 75 cents per dozen, what a deal. I bought two but now I wished I would have bought more. I was going to use them to make Faberge eggs. Im guessing that's what you were doing in this video. They turned out beautiful. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon and that you and the kids are doing well otherwise. Take care my friend, Dee😊👍
Beautiful! The finished egg looks like real marble. I can't get the scale with the camera zoomed in so close. Is that just a regular chicken egg or did you use something larger?
Very Nice! Thanks for sharing it with us!! I was confused though. So do you sand it then varnish it, leave it 24 hours to dry, then sand it again and varnish again?
I was wondering. Can you actually dip the egg into the poly clear varnish using one of those egg dipping wires that come in egg dying kits, and then let it drain down on a screen rack or water cap? Then sand off the very bottom where it set and dried? Then retouch that tiny area up with a bit on a brush? I was wondering if that varnish coated well if dipped. Or does it leave paint strokes? Edited to say: The reason i thought of that is we used to do ceramics, (my mom and I) and we had to balance our glazed things in the kiln for firing on little stilts. They look like ceramic or stoneware crosses or X's and they had little metal nail points that the piece would balance on. I wonder if you could actually make a stilt to set a dipped glazed egg on by supergluing some thumbtacks on a piece of cardboard with the spikes facing up and set the egg on three or four little nail point prongs so it wouldn't have to set on a surface at all.
It's so gorgeous! 😍 I want to make one for a friend who loves these. How did you bake without getting a flat side on the clay from where it lay on the pan?
Use poly fill stuffing on the bottom of the pan and place the egg on that. Make sort of a little nest of the poly fill so that it won’t roll off. This should help. Poly fill is that plastic cotton candy-esque stuffing you can find at sewing and craft stores. Jo Ann fabrics (if they have those stores in your area) has it. It’s stuffing for pillows, stuffed animals.
I blew out the inside and dried the egg in the oven first to dry it completely which helps with lightening the weight. I sand after too which will help greatly
great work, and I am sorry to read you are unwell, I can feel your cold !! Get well soon! Which polymer do you use? seems very soft! thanks for this video
+ CristinaCath Fimo or Sculpey modelling clay are fairly soft (although with my Fimo, I have to work it a little bit, but that's not an issue for me) and I would recommend the oven bake, as with air dry it's fairly hard to keep it as pliable as you need for long periods of time (at least in my experience)
This is beautiful! As you know, you awe me so much! When I marble, it just mixes together. Lol. Looks like something out of an blender, xD. I often take forever to make something really small. Is it procrastination? I do watch RUclips while doing clay, cause I get bored. Do you have any tips and tricks? Sorry to hear that your sick, recover up soon! Lizzie-
Super cool that you used a real egg! Have you been using the new glaze for all your project, or did you just get it for the eggs? Hope you get well soon!
+R Treasure Box I have had this glaze for over a year, but I have been ignoring it, because the container is so big and clunky. This dry glazed surface looks much better than the craft glazes I have used so far, so I will try it on some of my miniatures in the future. Heather
+Heather Wells :( being sick is not fun. Ok, you will have to share your results with the 'new' glaze. :) I have been looking for a good glaze for a while, but the ones I have tried always end up getting sticky after a while.
I am new to polymer clay and stumbled upon your marbled egg video. I tried out the technique you demonstrated on some glass ornaments. I would like to sell them and wanted to know how to best credit you and not violate your artistic copyright.
Thank you so much for being so thoughtful. Marbling is very common, and you don't need to credit me at all :) If you really feel the need just say Heather Wells on youtube inspired you .
+Alesha J They are extremely light, because the egg is hollow, and the clay covering it is thin, then sanded down. After it is completely finished, it is lighter than an egg with the yolk still inside.
buffing with a dremel or any rotary tool will give you a much smoother finish and shines just as well. use cut up disk of felt to buff. however, I was hoping to watch the blue egg from the thumbnail. :( still nice though.
Hey heather, sorry to hear u sick again..hope u feel better get more rest if u could..and by the way I think u forget my special request on my birthday request lol..if u could do this month make it up is okay too me lol :)
Hi, this seems awesome. I already subscribed to you. But I have a doubt since English is not my native language, do you may happen to know how is this material called in Spanish? Because for me clay is like play do haha, sorry for my ignorance and thank you.
I've done work with baking clay but never this. My question was going to be was the hole necessary, but you say you haven't had any problems. Is the hole to prevent ordors
Well I remember that in elementary school we made clay animals. Our teacher told us that it's to put a hole in our creations because if air gets trapped inside, the heat will cause it to build up until it basically cracks your piece apart trying to escape
The egg is raw. You use a needle to delicately poke a small hole on top and a slightly larger hole in the bottom. You then blow into the smaller hole on top. The yolk should shoot out the bottom.
Lizzie-
Excellent tutorial. Your egg turned out awesome! Sorry to hear you're sick! Hope you feel better soon! Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you so much
This came out beautiful Heather. Great job as always.
Thank you
Lovely! I used to do polymer clay covered eggs years ago. I have a nice variety of them, still. I really enjoyed sanding, it was almost hypnotic!
Thank you so much
Oh wow, the shine is spectacular; love the colors too. Nice job!
Thank you so much

+Polar Bear Thank you
Beautiful!
Thanks
OMG that's perfect :O
Thank you so much
wow they are amazing i am going to try one
How did it turn out?
Yes, great tutorial. Now I know what I did wrong when I made my eggs. I'll do a second try the right way.
Thank you so much. I hope they turned out great

How are you doing these days?
amazing tutorial! I hope you're feeling better soon, there's a nasty flu bug going around where I live that I'm heavily trying to avoid 😷
Thank you so much
very pretty!
Thank you so much

That is a regular chicken egg. Thank you so much
love the video
+Jeremiah Oddo Thank you so much!
Beautiful 😁😁😁
Thank you ☺️
Gorgeous! I would like to see how you display them.
There are little plastic rings that allow them to stand straight up. Sorry for the delay
Very Nice! Thanks for sharing it with us!!

That is a really good idea. Sounds reasonable

What clay were you using. We’re you able to troubleshoot, and figure out what was happening?
Super cool that you used a real egg! Have you been using the new glaze for all your project, or did you just get it for the eggs? Hope you get well soon!
+R Treasure Box Thank you :) I just saw your message, and wrote back ; )
I am worse now. I think it turned into Bronchitis
+R Treasure Box I have had this glaze for over a year, but I have been ignoring it, because the container is so big and clunky. This dry glazed surface looks much better than the craft glazes I have used so far, so I will try it on some of my miniatures in the future.

Will the eggshell break and then rattle around inside? Or does the surrounding clay keep it from breaking?
Will rattle around inside for sure

They are super cute!! How heavy are they?
+Alesha J They are extremely light, because the egg is hollow, and the clay covering it is thin, then sanded down. After it is completely finished, it is lighter than an egg with the yolk still inside.
Hey! :) What brand of translucent clay did you use?
Sculpey premo. I used premo mostly
buffing with a dremel or any rotary tool will give you a much smoother finish and shines just as well. use cut up disk of felt to buff.
however, I was hoping to watch the blue egg from the thumbnail.
:( still nice though.
Thank you :) I bought a dremel for the resin 😀
After 1st Varnish, what size sandpaper do you use? Thanks Mike.
I think I started with 400 grit and went in 100 grit increments finer till I was satisfied
I like your video
Thank you
I wonder if you could glaze it with UV resin, it might be even shinier
I am not sure. I don’t see why not
Noice
Thanks
I like your nice voice 🥰
Thank you so much
Hey heather, sorry to hear u sick again..hope u feel better get more rest if u could..and by the way I think u forget my special request on my birthday request lol..if u could do this month make it up is okay too me lol :)
+queenie kwan kit leung
What was your request again? I am not remembering at the moment
+Heather Wells strawberries items relate birthday items lol..
I didn't know you could use varnish with poly clay!
You have to test them… some will get sticky after time
What brand of clay do you use?
Premo by sculpey. But Sculpey ll is too soft
Hi Hi I'm no expert, but I'd be sure to wash the eggs carefully before starting with this beautiful project.
Yes definitely
БРАВО!!!!!!ЛАЙК И ПОДПИСКА!!!
Thank you

Oscar Gabriel E sorry this is late, Arcilla Polimerica :)
Thank you so mich
Thank you for commenting. I want to learn Spanish. I don’t know what to it is called in Spanish in English it is. Sculpey. premo
I like this tute, but you know I have made six eggs so far and never left an air hole and they were just fine
I would think in this case its to clean the egg shell so its not going to be a rotten egg on the inside :S
I am glad they turned out fine for you. Thanks for sharing
This is exactly why
el huevo queda adentro...no se saca?
I put holes in the top and bottom and blew the egg out with my mouth 😫
What number on pasta roller ?
Second to third from the thickest setting on the roller… my roller is lost 😞 so I can’t go back to measure now
hi there
i think you can use math to cut the clay Exactly for the egg and fix on it easly
Thank you
Can I use a plastic egg instead of a real one?
Plastic would probably melt... or give off toxic fumes.. sorry for the delay, I haven't stopped by my channel in a very long time
can you use wood egg?
Yes
Keep it away from the walls of heating elements in your oven though
interesting
Thank you
why do you bake your egg? lol I'm lazy and I just want to begin with the shell... if its not super important. great vid!!! thx!!!
Probably to make sure it's as dry as possible. The membrane is still inside and stuff.
To completely dry it. Thanks, I am sure a lot of people wondered that
why not just roll a ball of mixed clay into an egg shape, wouldn't that save both time and effort?
+Jashin325 I think the one difference is that it would be a lot heavier than using an empty egg shell.
+Velvet Way and saves a lot of clay
I keep breaking the eggs but haven’t tried the prior baking. Do u think that makes a difference?
Trying to roll a perfect egg would be like trying to draw a perfect circle without a compass; very difficult
It would be more efficient to use a plastic Easter egg as a base, with air dry clay. Cleaning out an eggshell is hard and time consuming.
Can you use plastic eggs? Using real ones feels a little wasteful in the food department
No, because they'd melt when you baked the clay.
Eggs are also rather cheap and there is no reason you couldn't use the egg to make scrambled eggs with it.
Plastic would create toxic fumes in the oven. But if you bake there isn’t any need to throw out the eggs
how do you do the egg? how do you get the yolk out without breaking the egg, if it's raw, or boiled?
The egg is raw. You use a needle to delicately poke a small hole on top and a slightly larger hole in the bottom. You then blow into the smaller hole on top. The yolk should shoot out the bottom.
I poked a hole in the top and bottom and blew hard till the egg was empty
Fantastic, I've decorated eggs with decoupage teqnique but would love to ry this, thank you 😍
Thank you
Actually my dads father has thosw but made out of real marble and stone
My mom used to as well. It was actually the inspiration from my childhood 😊
Aww the little "Hello?" at 2:58 was so Cute.
Thank you

Hi:). Sorry I missed this. I hope you are doing well
