Last night My wife and i were getting a ferry, we were at the very front of an 10 lane queue about 20 mins before bording I discovered that my battery had died, panic stations. Thankfully I found your video and was a le to get going again. Thank you thank you thank you for saving our vacation you are amazing.
This is the only jump start video I have seen which explains that you have to connect the crocodile clip to the positive plate the right way round! Very helpful. After watching this I managed to jump a car which yesterday I was having no luck starting. It works, great! Just remember: The copper teeth side with the cable attached needs to be in contact with the positive plate!!
That helped indeed. I came back from a 2 months trip yesterday and the battery on my yaris hybrid is flat. My neighbours are away so I got myself a portable jump starter from halfords and this video of yours helped me immensly to get my car going. Thank you thak you thank you.
Glad to have been of assistance....do keep an eye on it...these are very small capacity auxiliary batteries and once they go flat, unlike larger batteries they are notoriously difficult to recharge. Fingers crossed it works out for you. If it does need changing, I have a video on that. The auxiliary battery is located under the rear passenger seat bench. If you do end up changing it, I recommend getting genuine one from Toyota, Especially one with the vent hole that's needed as its under the seat. It's about £135 at the main dealer (expensive I know).
@@sutsi incredibly helpful video thank you. Would you recommend getting the battery replaced after it has gone flat? My 2021 hybrid wouldn’t start because I left the radio on in accessory mode for 10 mins. Somehow it suddenly decided to re-start after leaving the car for 5 mins without any need for me to jump start. Toyota dealer said to just re charge the battery by putting it in ready mode for 1 hour. Not sure if I am being fobbed off or if I need a new 12V battery
@@domperidone4421 these are notoriously low capacity so can sometimes do that. Being a 2021 I would say your battery probably has another year or two left. But yes...it should recharge itself after an hour on ready or an hour of normal driving. But for peace of mind it's about £140 fitted at main dealer (funnily enough it's more expensive to just buy the battery at around £170 - but cheaper if you let the dealer fit it for you lol). This is how much jemca London charged me last month on a Yaris hybrid. So price correct as at June 2024.
Good one! I made the mistake of getting the wrong part of my jump leads on the Yaris terminal that you pointed out. Took me a while to figure it out. Thanks.
This has been very helpful, as we've had battery problems common to Toyota Hybrids ( and other models) and we need to prepare for the need to jump start if the battery fails on us again. Its a bit confusing to a novice that the 12 v battery is under the rear seat , and helpful to know where to connect the jump leads to the fuse box as you've shown. Cheers. R
Thanks for the helpful video. My 2022 yaris hybrid wouldn't start today and I had to ring the RAC. Think I should get myself a jump start battery kit, so I can do it myself at anytime.
Thanks for your kind comments much appreciated. Yes I think it would be very useful to have as the Yaris auxiliary battery is very small. I keep a gooloo gp3000 for my sister's Yaris, in the glovebox Amazon usually have them on offer around £50
Great video! Thank you!. Could you please do a tutorial for how to trickle charge for Toyota Hybrid too please! I don't use mine enough, and the battery keeps going flat, needing a jump start twice in the last 2 months 😢
My dads cars been left and won’t even open the door with the key in the barrel on drivers door - how can I get the car open to pull the bonnet release if nothing opens the doors ??
If the key doesn't work and you don't want to call a locksmith or AA/RAC..don't break the windows. what you can do is use one of those inflatable wedges in between the door frame. This should give enough space to slip through a slightly angled rod/metal coat hook...use that to try and shift the door lock button just underneath the interior door open lever. If you call breakdown service this is how they will enter the car for you. Hope this helps
Be careful about not putting the positive and negative jumper clips too close together, or you will get the fright of your life by the massive current draw and explosion.
@@sutsi Yes you can !! I did it on my Yaris model 2024 without any problems and many videos show it too. This port is dirrectly connected to the 12V battery....
This is the link to where the battery is located...ruclips.net/video/325CVvRA_P0/видео.html It's a 12v slim battery but you have to get an AGM one that's compatible with stop start. Also as its under the seat must ensure you put the vent pipe on otherwise you'll get gases/acid leaking. I would personally recommend buying original Toyota battery direct from main Dealer...it's about £139 and fitting it yourself...it's very easy. Hope this helps

do not use a part of the Hybrid system as ground! Just a important tip I read multiple times.
Why would that be? It's a common ground. I can't see why it would be a problem.
I dont have that point to put +
Do you know where to put it?
