- Ender's Nissan Silvia on the dyno at the Promaz Automotive dyno day. The factory 4-cylinder is long gone in favour of a forged Toyota 2JZ six cylinder engine. Improved performance comes from a Precision turbocharger and Haltech E85 fuel system. Getting power to the ground is easy thanks to a Jerico 4-speed dog box and sequential shifter.

+Omar Landrau Where you want to look for ex- NASCAR parts is through Earnhardt Racing in the States. They buy 80% of the used NASCAR engines, transmissions, diffs and brakes from the other teams and obviously sell their own ex- NASCAR stuff as well. They buy up the 2nd tear stuff too and sell it off. They sell stuff as rebuilt or as they received it, depending on what you want, or what they have in stock at the time. Their prices are unbelievably cheap for what it is they're selling and what it would cost to buy new. The stuff does bugger all work and is sold off way before it needs to be replaced- (with the engines being the exception to the rule, they are pushed fairly close to their limits, but buying the rebuilt engines is a crazy bargain compared to new replacement value) , so it's not like your buying totally thrashed junk. Check them out bro...

hello, can you tell me the difference between the 2jz gte and the 2jz vvti? apart from the vanos system? I do not understand why people say that for big powers is more suitable 2jz without vvts.

It is club registration, it is basically a way to get an unroadworthy car on the roads. It limits you to a logbook and around 90-days a year

the car is strapped down with a blue strop. people are adding weight cos its loosing traction on the rear. too get a true reading.zzz

thats a sequential dog box probably...i wonder if that rear wheel was rubbing against the body cause of the weight of all those people in the trunk
Roberson Lub Can you explain what a dog box is? Cuz it seems to be like what some of us muscle car guys do with automatics by putting on a ratchet shifter so we can shift up and down

it is basically a automatic but most start off with the clutch then u dont really need it anymore.. race cars and rally cars use them its just like a sequential gearbox the shifts are faster sometimes they add the paddles also...Most racers with cars producing over 300 WHP opt for a Dog Box after they get tired of replacing their stock transmission. dog boxes have fewer parts within them and are reliable Although these transmissions can be driven on the street, they're intended for racing. In order to shift, the user must unload a little torque to ensure the dog teeth are not lined up. This can be done by tapping the clutch or letting off the gas similar to shifting a stock transmission..but if ur a serious racer and want quick shifts i dig it but for pleasure and daily driving i prefer a built manual trans
Roberson Lub that's interesting. so it is a bit more race oriented than a ratchet shifter. cuz the ratchet shifters can be put in automatic mode too for city driving. and ratchet shifters were originally for drag racing. yeah a manual sounds a bit more practical

i agree way more race orientated and is not practical for street driving at all but can be used if u have enough experience with it...if u dont drive it right u will mess it up there is a lot of precaution u have to take with a dog box especially when ur a beginner with it manaul is the way to go better feel with the car and sounds way better when taking off on first gear just love it vrooooOOOOooom!!! cheekcheek vroooooooom cheeek cheek(shifting) vrooooooooooooooooom!!!!! lol

You don't automatically just do dynos based off 4th gear pulls, you generally do the pull in the gear where the ratio is closest to 1:1 (excluding reverse) which happens to be 4th gear for most cars.
No excuse for not strapping down, if car jumped off dyno the lads who have fell back first onto rollers. Dead. funking fools.

8500 newtons, not N.m. You need gear ratios to compute newtons of torque into newton meters of torque.
From the power figure(420kW, 560hp approx), I'm going to guess it around 460-500Nm of torque assuming high ratio gears for max acceleration(since it's a drift car, no sense gearing for high speed)
It's strange a little bit, because N - Newton is a unit of force, so if we want to have torque we need ray on which that force works. Finnaly we have N * m, unit of torque.
The only explanation is that the resulting force is the belt tension force holding this car.

You have a point there about the JZ... I didn't know about RB's oiling problems....What are they exactly? Seems strange for me to hear that honestly but Im not Mr Nissan... Toy and Honda are my favs in engineering terms... I just get confused with a Nissan Body and Toyota power...or any other combo out of brand. These things are sacrilege for a reason, and a pretty good reason.

As someone who has forgotten more engine build than I remember....none of those mods needed sound difficult in any way... You just NEED THE INFO While you are prepping your vehicle. Not an insignificant thing in any way. An older guy said to me that he could tell I really knew my stuff and presented it in an intelligent way AND seemed like a hell of a nice guy.....with ONE serious fault... I said well thank you for the kind words, if you dont mind my asking...what is it that I can improve on.... This is what he said.... You give too much away for free...." Information is a commodity" Ive been pondering this ever since. Half of me wants to be cool and just "spit my info" but him being a multi millionare has a head for business...and he said...NEVER...Never do that if you want to be financially secure. How much do I care? Not much...but I make a habit of Never ignoring elders words...EVER. Crazy huh?
That being said...I still give a lot away for free...but its my conviction that people pick up on this and see it as being forthright and honest....and THAT has paid me massive dividends... So I felt the pull in both directions.... So he drops another piece of sage advice on me....He said "Answer only what you are asked...but give no more than that" and answer honestly....it will satisfy both of your emotions in that sense. Because he could tell I was conflicted about sitting on what i knew and just giving it away.
You NEVER know where you will learn something....and more often than not...you will get something golden from an elder...

If you looked properly you can see the car actually is. The reason why there is people on the back is to hold the car down to get as much traction as possible meaning a more accurate reading.
