You forgot Uruguay South America.Americans sell their house they buy two or three apartments in Uruguay they rent. It is not a very cheap country, but it is still convenient I would tell you that number one is health, thats is the reason why they leave,in Uruguay,if you do not have a private health insurance in the public, they serve you absolutely free as many countries do. They call Uruguay the Latin Switzerland It is hard to believe that a power like America treats its own people like this!😢

These numbers don't really show how many actually left. Numerous are 'living' in the Philippines - for example - that kept bank accounts in the US and use VPN's to make people "think" they are 'traveling' - when in fact - they haven't been back in years ! An example which hides an accurate number from being known ? Many also do 'slow travel' and use up visa allowed - 'visits' - and then just move on to another country.

One thing that seems to get lost in this sort of discussion is the range of psychology and motivation. I think that the cost of living and healthcare costs are universal reasons for everyone to leave the U.S.. After that, it really becomes a matter of philosophical and psychological differences. The strange thing is that there seems to be no particular ideological, religious, or social prevalence to those who want to leave...and this is something to consider. I'm sure that most people think of these expats as liberal-leaning people, but this is far from the case. There are religious conservatives and ultra-conservatives, who despise popular American culture. There are Second Amendment conservatives who obsess about gun ownership and seek places with even fewer gun laws. There are libertarians, who want absolutely no laws governing behavior. There are also the financial opportunists. Tax dodgers, crypto-investors, and people looking to offshore their assets. Mixed into this are the bohemians and hedonists, who want to disengage, live day by day, and generally have a good time. There are also those with a sort of pioneer spirit. They're the ones who want to find a new frontier to conquer. They are the ones that are bold enough to sell everything at home, buy land, build a house, try to grow their own food, home school their kids, and build local businesses. I think that most expats combine bits of these different motivations. I also think its the reason that many of them are unhappy after a while. They go there with a dream and often its not what they think.
You have to be flexible and realistic, if this is the path you want to pursue. I've been exploring expat retirement for about 3 years, now. (Thinking about it for over 10.) I probably do ten times more research than the average prospective expat. Friends ask me where I plan to retire, as if its a clear cut choice. I tell them that its a moving target. Between the hidden facts that it takes time/experience to uncover AND the changing situation in these countries, you would be foolish to bank on just one place. For instance, I'd counted out Panama because I don't like hot, humid climates. But, then I found out about the beautiful mountain weather of the Chiriqui highlands. Unfortunately, I eventually learned that foreigners (mostly Americans) have infested the region and created serious inflation in real estate and consumer goods. It's bad and getting worse. Prices for land and housing are now as high as in parts of the U.S.. You also have to consider the response of the local government to the influx of foreigners with a lot of money. Canada and New Zealand put up legal barriers, after expats and foreign investors created a housing crisis. (Canada suspended foreign sales of real estate and New Zealand now requires at least a $350K purchase.) Malaysia have essentially destroyed the famous MM2H visa. Spain and other countries are narrowing their visa options. Many countries are also changing their tax laws. In some cases, this makes things easier for expat retirees, but it can also make it worse.
My point is simple: Do your homework. I love these sorts of videos (and Adventure Freaksss, in particular). They open up your mind to possibilities and help you to put things in scale. But, they are only the first step in planning. Having lived abroad in a very non-Western culture (China), I can personally say that there are things you should just never assume. Here are a few: 1) The "normal" bathroom in some places is a "squat" toiler, 2) Most apartments in the Phillippines have don't have much of a kitchen, 3) If your new home needs bottled water or gas, count on needed to know a little of the local language, 4) If the local tap water isn't potable, get used to taking showers with your mouth closed., 5) Some societies are cash-based and rarely use credit cards. 6) What ATMs are safe to use and which ones should you avoid. I think you get the idea. These videos are a starting point. Do the harder research to get the answers you need.

People are leaving Canada New Zealand Australia..... ALSO ! > Same reasons I suppose ? Question is - where are they mostly going ? Looks like a variety of places - all over the world ? Many Americans have simply changed States - but that influx has caused the housing shortages where they went to - having to also deal with all the demands for "affordable housing" from the illegal immigration !!! --?-- It's become a screwed up mess in a lot of places - and record GREED is out of control - causing worse problems. > Record homeless people - record home repo's - and - record evictions from rentals - are happening all at the same time. --- Where do people go (?) and what can they do ? --- Remaining in a toxic environment or an increasingly crime prone area is the only choice for many ? -- When -- somewhere around half of all people (?) - supposedly - doesn't have $400 for an emergency...... ? Can 'that' be so ? -- Moving out of country is likely impossible for them I would guess ? Apparently - it's the other half (?) that has the passports ! - - Millions of Americans are going to end up on the streets - in tents - living in their cars - motorhomes - or maybe sharing housing in some cases. Not a pretty sight for some time to come. = A very serious destruction of our society in the US - coming real soon ! ! !

Great points! More and more people I know are talking about leaving the US. Cost of living, even for a bare bones simple life, has gotten insane. Not sure how people are getting by, probably living off credit cards. I've been working seasonal jobs for a few years, in beautiful locations in national parks. My rent this summer for a nice private room has been $280 per month. Can save a bunch of money for half the year, then take the other half off. Have time to travel, work on a few creative projects, and just relax and enjoy life. Way less stress, and can take better care of my physical and mental health. This is at least an alternative way for people to have some freedom, and maybe live overseas somewhere for 6 months or more of the year. Will be documenting on my new channel. Enjoyed the vid. On the other hand, millions every year immigrated INTO the US, vs maybe 150K leaving the US. So, what data makes you conclude US is a bad country????
