Too many people attach their identity and worth as a person to the media they consume or the celebrities they follow which is why they cannot take criticism or simply ignore someone that disagrees with them. Genshin is simply a videogame made to make money from people, but in other people's heads, it's their whole life and anyone saying otherwise is their enemy

I personally think these people take it way too personally that Genshin is losing to its own company's competition (which in itself is honestly hilarious. Those people at hyv are eating good already why they mad over this) but shield this own weakness of theirs by saying "it's just a game", "why does this information matter?", "I'm just here to have fun and this is ruining the fun for me".

It’s kinda funny to me because personally as a “genshin stan”, if the comparison was just about the “fontaine release” banner revenue being lower, I wouldn’t think too much of it to begin with since it’s not necessarily something worth comparing due to it not likely being the expected biggest sale they’ll make in the new nation’s market. (probably unlike sumeru due to their new element/gameplay, or an archon/relevant unit release).
I understand how people can take offense over how someone would compare only when the side they chose gets the advantage without taking in relevant details that make it, but I still think nobody should take it that personally.

Personally I watched this channel for the theorycrafting, which was great, and I can only second the dislike for the drama content.
As the content consumer, I think I have the right to give such feedback. While the content creator has every right to simply ignore it.
Since I cannot resist to throw back the nonsense philosophical stuff from the start, I hope this comment brought your life more balance since a lot of the others I see are positive and I simply want to do what is best for you and return your life to a more balanced ways.

I don't think people are bafoons for wanting to avoid meaningless negativity and drama from youtube talking heads. When people turn off this video, they are in the real world and probably have real problems to deal with. Financial, familial, career, and relationship drama. At the end of the day people have a right to watch whatever type of content they want. Bro made an interesting video stating facts about the sales of literally the entire list of gacha games. Discussed an interesting topic between two games made by the same company. Anyone assigning their own person shit onto it is their problem. He didnt get himself into anything. He can be annoyed at whatever he wants also. Especially when people want to literally be offended by everything and its warranted. He tried to give them some honest good advice and then let them know he's totally cool if they dont wath if they act like this or feel that way. It was pretty BASED.

However, what I'm getting hung up on is that they said "the goal of life is to provide the most balance" rather than to be happy. This just doesn't make any kind of sense to me.
They also seem to be contradicting themselves, saying that when you reach a level of happiness, the scale will reset and that will be the new norm. Then that would be the new balance, so what's all this about the goal of life being balance?

I was one of the people who disagreed with the last video and don’t get it twisted I’m not a Genshin stan (quit due to Dehya fiasco) and definitely not someone who will stop watching as I enjoy your general perspective and vibe.
But I do hold differing opinions and hopefully this can create some civil discussion.
I agree life is a balance but I feel there is a difference in negativity that needs to be addressed. In my opinion negativity comes in two forms necessary and unnecessary negativity. I think you fail to realise that some people get a lot of negativity from their real lives and they come online to get away from it and this does not inherently make someone weak. Necessary negativity as you put is stuff like exercise and struggling through real life experiences. I personally put your previous video in the unnecessary category, a negative view on a videogame that is being backed by sales that is heavily dependent on multiple variables that you brushed off and called them cope to enforce the opinion that Genshin is dying, is not the necessary evil people need to hear to balance the scales you think it is. It is just rage bait and you calling anyone who argues against that a stan doesn’t help. At the end of day negativity does have its place if backed by proper facts but these days people show a low comprehension of interpreting the facts (this is extremely prevalent with news and social media in general) and how it supports what they are saying in this case sales based on characters =/= Fontaine is a flop.
Either way you do you man if you continue down this path I’ll still enjoy your stuff HSR content wise, but I’ll just actively the avoid the other shit as it does bring my mood down you can say I’m baby or whatever for avoiding it but I view it a net negative to the platform and creates this lame HSR vs Genshin environment when we should be able to enjoy whatever and not be judged.
Edit; I do believe negative news has its place if based with the proper objective facts so maybe if down the line Genshin's player base starts dropping dramatically then you would have a case to make a video on it but as I said earlier lower character sales =/= Genshin bad or whatever so I believe the previous videos sentiment was flawed in that aspect. Simply put it's fine to dislike Genshin just make sure the facts line up correctly, as an example if Genshin anniversary is bad again I wouldn't mind you poking a little bit of fun at it.

Thank you for this comment. People don't even realize that Genshin and HSR are being designed in such a way that both games have their down time when the other game has their main content. They are literally being designed to be played together.
Now if one game is not to your liking, then don't play it. I have played many a games and have even come to hate a lot of them, but I decided to ignore then rather than bash them even though some of them could use the criticism to do better.
But Genshin does not listen to criticism since it does not need it yet. When a competitor comes out that is not hoyo and Genshin loses revenue to that game, then they will listen. Until then all the Genshin vs HSR debate is just noise.

Exactly. Like I said in a reply in the previous video, I (and probably most people here) subscribed for his theory crafting and build guides. Why does he think making a video about how HSR is selling better than Genshin is necessary? Not to mention that it's dumb since it's the same company and also, as many comments have mentioned in that video, people are saving for other characters. Genshin's having a lot of reruns, whereas Star Rail is brand new so all the characters are new but no, he brushes these and other points off. 😂

Some may argue that what he is and others are saying is actually necessary negativity. When people say that genshin is "dying" they dont mean that it is going to be completely dead one day. What they should be saying is that genshin is "declining". By almost all metrics, the game has been on a steady decline, and this negativity that people have can possibly lead to better changes in the game that can stop or even one day reverse the massive exodus of players over the years

Coming from someone who plays both games, I don't understand why the previous video exists. One Fontaine character came out that way not that hype (not a proper husbando) and almost generated as much revenue as what Kafka and Inbibitor Lunar generated combined. No was in hell is Genshin "dying". It is still the same monster it was. If HSR starts getting outdone by ZZZ in the future and moves to number 2 spot, will it be dying then too? There is negativity that is warranted like you said in the video and then there is this negativity which borders on toxicity. Don't bait people into a Genshin vs Star Rail debate when there is no reason to debate. Both games are made by the same developers. Neither dev is trying to kill the other game. Both devs want you to pay both games. There is a reason Genshin and HSR updates are scheduled to have absolutely no content when the other game is having their major content. They are literally being designed together to convey up each other's downtime of content.

Genshin's success has accelerated so many changes, including changes that Genshin itself needs to adapt to, but Genshin is big and hard to adjust. The post Genshin products like Starrail and ZZZ having those adaptation built in from start doing good or even better than Genshin is not too surprising I would say. This really is in no form discrediting for Genshin, I even think the Genshin player base should be proud for facilitating the new iterations of Gacha games.
I dont know bro your balance seems off to me, while negative things mostly come on its own, u have to work or do something yourself to earn the positive things of life. I can understand people who dont want to do anything with drama on the internet since this is a space where people mostly go for entertainment (ofc there are tons of people just for drama to put their useless 2 cents in to stir the fire). Also putting Genshin against HSR is yelling for stress to come up for nothing, both games are good, both games have a huge fanbase and both games are from the same company. I play genshin but I don't relate to the stans because I view genshin as a normal game and honestly people need to get a life. I play games a good bit and to be honest I'm trying to slowdown on the gaming aspect. There are way too many people out their that attach their entire identity to the “Genshin” brand. So, any and all criticism or negative fact is not a critic on the game, but an insult toward them.
This is why i distanced myself from both the genshin community and the hsr community becuase they're both just as bad as each other. Genshin has a much bigger fandom which is why they're a lot louder and more toxic but the hsr community is still really bad

This "discussion" about which game is better based on who sells more is so annoying because the two games are from the same company and they are the two most profitable gacha games of all games. This is a very difficult thing to happen and I don't think people should be fighting each other over something so silly...
I play both games and I think that when the new archon arrives genshin will sell a lot too, just like it was with the archon of sumeru last year.

There's far differences in the game to just say, "They were made by the company," as if we didn't know that already. Star Rail has a far better ideology in terms of the game than Genshin ever will (Hint* Hint* Anniversary). And it's HSR devs who are updating permanent content for their game pretty often, while genshin added what in the span of 3 years? TCG? It's pretty clear which devs hold a higher bar when it comes to their approach, no?

Negativity and hardship is a staple of life that comes naturally, not something that everyone should want to seek.
I just feel like you get way too serious about this stuff (talking specifically about the example you mentioned, I know that there were incidents where some Genshin fans went way too far). A random person on the internet said that he was offended by something (doesn't matter if justified or injustified) and therefore doesn't want to consume your content anymore which was a very small part of their daily life to begin with. They don't think that deeply about it because it frankly doesn't matter a lot to them and it won't impact their happiness greatly, especially not longterm.

I don't understand the competitiveness between the two. The games are designed to be played solo, WHO are you competing with? As someone who has played Genshin from launch. I've never, not ONCE cared about the numbers. AR55, every character in the game, C6 Zhongli and only 8-3 on Spiral Abyss and I just finished Enkanomiya. Currently playing Star Rail, AR65, have all characters except two standard banner, I've barely touched MOC, Blade is maxed. The point is that the games are your pace, do what you want, when you want with your time. Filthy casual/whale here and I could give zero fucks. These kids are going to complain no matter what. Facts are facts and if people can't handle that, fuck'em. I didn't even see this video in question and I still wouldn't care. I'm curious at this point..haha Is it going to change my outlook on the two? Nope! Why? Because I don't care about the numbers. I play to have fun.

I stopped being active in the community for these games about a year ago because of this same reason and i have to say it's the best thing i ever did. I've been enjoying both games more now that i distanced myself from the social media aspect of these games. People are just too crazy.

I play both Genshin and Star rail right now and in my opinion, making a video comparing both games revenue was obviously going to attract negative attention due to people assuming you are hating on Genshin. I am not going to say Genshin is perfect, every game has its fanbase, and everyone is entitled to their own emotions. In the end of the day, playing games is all about enjoying ourselves, I think we just shouldn't care, I didn't care enough to watch your other video either until you released this one in reaction to the comment.

As long as you show them the facts, what you're looking at, then they can draw their own conclusions and feel how they like about it. They should not get upset at you or your content, after all, facts don't care about your feelings.
A 6 month old game outselling a 3 year old game is pretty normal. When Zenless Zone Zero comes out, it will outsell Honkai Star Rail because it's a newer game and builds on the interests from previous titles. More games and more choices are a good thing. Tribalism however is not. You can enjoy both Genshin and Star Rail while admitting the shortcomings. It's honestly not a big deal.

Truth is, no one can control what another person thinks or says in a particular situation. It's not your fault if some other party gets offended, nor is it your responsibility to appease said party. It's their choice whether to continue watching your content or not. I, for one, agree with what you said about balance. At the end of the day, HSR and genshin are just virtual games to be played/enjoyed to within each person's capacity.

It's crazy how many people say "yo just stop being negative" when you try criticize something. Criticism =/= negativity. We don't want Genshin to be bad, we don't want the game to fail. We want Hoyoverse, who is a multi billion dollar coporation, who KNOWS how to run a game, to start making Genshin feel on par with the level of quality that their other games have. It's like when these people hear any form of "I think this could have been better" they immediatly jump to the conclusion that you are being negative. Like smack mentioned in the video, happiness is a feeling that diminishes overtime. If you are just going to be brainlessly happy with any garbage Genshin gives you and defend the game like it's somehow the most important, life changing thing ever created, then you're just sad. Genshin doesn't care that you like it, and neither does hoyoverse. We aren't hurting their feelings by critiquing the game.

Also "who KNOWS how to run a game" well they do and when tens of millions of players still like the game and at best like only a million dislike the direction who do you think they are gonna go towards? Especially since its clear that this is the kinda game the devs want to develop and the biggest part that is often is the case is that people do not just criticise. They expect/almost try to force those things to happen when that just goes beyond "just criticism". The game is not a open source project you can criticize and suggest but do not expect them to just bend over backwards to do those things.(and when they don't its up to you to choose if you support/like it or not)

With you and teccy's videos about these types of players, whenever I see the screenshots of their post or comment, how they construct their messages, and how they respond. My goodness, they make the game itself feels disgusting to even be a part of it. If they truly is having fun or just playing the game for fun genuinely, then opinions that does not align to what they like shouldn't matter to them. They just wanna have fun and that they don't care about what others think but immediately creates alternative accounts to start or join a Reddit Genshin drama because somebody posted that their character or the game itself sucks.
I hear what you are saying and I feel that you should not let people who make those comments get under your skin at all. "They are not indicative of the final product." That is to say that they do not speak for those of use enjoying your content or for the Genshin players as a whole. Anyway keep on putting out quality content and growing your channel, no one with a brain is going to let a few disagreements tarnish a years worth of quality content.

It is just a fact. Sorry if people are defensive about that, you can still enjoy HSR just like people enjoy buying CoD/Fifa every year or how others enjoy chasing the big hype game such as Starfield. Maybe even the people still playing World of Warcraft 20 years later. Whatever. It is your time and your enjoyment. If you prefer turn based combat with 3 buttons, fetch quests for your main narrative and a roguelike for end game... More power to you? That just ain't for me.
I feel HSR should be closer to other turn based Gacha instead of trying to be Genshin because it is doing a bad job at that. Why even have daily missions? Just let people log in for their primogems. Why make people run Simulated Universe multiple times a week? Just let people do it once. Why make artifact grinding an even bigger chore in a game that is more stat check based? If those are not problems to you, that is cool.
I believe it is better to waste less time in Genshin during droughts and have more content to enjoy during updates. Maybe that is weird to you or Honkai fans. I also want to enjoy the narrative without wanting to press the goddamn skip button. If the story is bad and I feel like I am just playing a farming simulator, of course I am going to say Genshin is the better game. I get HSR fans do not like the Genshin story because of "bloat" or Paimon... Or more realistically Paimon induced bloat, but that should just show how genuinely bad the writing is in HSR that I much prefer those two flaws to just downright uninteresting nonsense. Surprised people actually care that we get a story update every patch.
To be clear, I just felt like sharing my opinion, I do not care if you dislike Genshin. That is your problem to deal with, not mine. Eustress is the kind of stress that has positive impact to your life (e.g. working out,investing, being proactive at work or doing things that make you uncomfortable but pay-offs long term) and theres distress that kind of stress that has negative impact on your life and has no benefit at all so you should avoid it at all cost.(e.g. watching and participating in toxic and drama baiting videos, or even news, illness or serious injury, being neglected or abused). Honestly youre starting to be like Tectone, keep that up and your community is gonna filled by hate-filled and drama-craving individuals.
This video wasnt drama baiting.. It was giving honest advice, discussing a topic, and expressing his opinion. Drama baiting looks a lot different, and he wouldnt bother with this entire intro if so. The fact that you are making comparison, telling him he's "Starting to be like Tectone", just shows you're literally one of the folks he's addressing here. We are a colmination of our experiences. We grow from the obstacles we face. And his point was that people are allowing someone's stating of literal facts to cause them to attack his character (like you just did), rage quit, and continue to hide from any sort of "negativity" even when it isn't negative usually. And how that can be deterimental in the long run.
