The Sig P226 DA trigger reach is just tto long for me. The SAO versions of the P226 work perfectly for me and this one looks amazing. Great video, Larry.
When I first attended the Sig Academy in 2012 (out of five advanced instructor level courses) I was able to buy the very first example of the then new and now discontinued P227. A P226 chambered in .45 auto. It fits all holsters that fit the P226. I used to have the MK25, so that was great. But having smallish hands, I had a similar issue with trigger reach. I solved that by installing a flat trigger from Gray. That also served to front load the pull with a very fast and short reset. That’s my dedicated ManCave gun mounting an OLIGHT BALDR PRO with 1350 lumens and a green laser. Works great for letting the dog into the fenced backyard when the Coyotes are howling nearby.
The P226 X5 and X6 are very popular guns for shooters here in Germany. When you can't own many guns you're more on the buy once cry once side. Also we can't do much more than shoot bullseye competion, plate racks, IPSC or PPC1500.
@@jaypee389 I have nothing against IPSC. I'm starting to compete in IPSC right now. I just wanted to say that you can't do more than taking your gun to the range, shoot an official discipline and go back home. I'd like to blast some trash or LARP in the desert without having to be subjected to so many rules or fearing to lose my right to own guns when I don't shoot the way my government allows me to. Things like "defensive" or "combat" shooting are illegal which means you can obly shoot at official paper targets, human silhouettes are illegal which is why our IPSC targets lack the b-zone. Also you can only have see through barricades and can't run while shooting.
I bet he can't wait until people stop posting "Welcome back! Looking great!" It's been months. If you want to be such a people pleaser, focus on the content. That is what he wants.
@vickers tactical Would you do a video on the USP and it's history and variants? You've talked about it before but I've never seen a video dedicated to it.
Incredible gun as always from Sig. I have the X5 Classic and the X5 Legion. These guns are incredible to shoot. Accuracy and speed of the guns is amazing. Ejection pattern is great. I also have the Staccato and the Sig's, for the $$ are more than equal to the Staccato which cost just about $1,000 more. The only issue I have had is with the Classic running 115 grain ammo, it doesn't lock back when mag is emptied every time. Now full disclosure I have 49 other Sig's soooooo,,,,,
@@ExSoldier762 that depends. You want to have cancer but be free to go to your doctors appointments and convalesce at home? Or do you want to do it from a federal prison after violating the NFA by not renewing his licenses like he should of done in the first place? The choice is his.

What’s about the accuracy of the gun in shooting 25m. How are the groups there. I have aGerman X6 and X5 and they are really precise. US build is similar?
Hi everyone: i bought a sig 226 x5 competition made in germany a few years back. It took me about 10 months to find one and the saleman told me it was probably the last one of it's kind in California. I think got lucky.
I'd love to own a Sig but in almost all Australian states, you can only get a chopped down version. And in NSW, where I live, you can't get one at all. It's a shame really
What do you mean chopped down? Whether they're in stock or not is one thing, but cleaver firearms will definitely take your money for a few flavours of P226 X5
Take back your Country and your Freedom. Get involved in politics and vote out the ultraliberal socialists who want nothing more than to turn us all into compliant drones.
To be honest USA made X5 is not a good investment. I am glad I am able to get my hand on a X5 and X6 made in Germany. USA made X series is just no match to Germany made.
@@KarlHensen in this case, you have to compare guns that cost the same. You cannot expect the same fit and finish from a $2k gun, compared to a $4k gun. The same way an Atlas 2011, made in the US will put your German X5 to shame.
I hate that Sig have the finger to all of their european customers by not supplying the same range of grips available in the US. Glad to see CZ leaving them in the dirt.
It's only a few hundered dollars more thant he P226 Optics ready Legion pistol :)) If someone wants their first -226....I;d look seriously at this gun or the Legion variant...not sure hwat he difference will be. Just a CereKote slide? Legion markings on the slide? Nifty coin? :))
The sig "custom shop" has been disappointing. I like the designs they've come up with but they're still the quality of production guns, loose tolerances, nothing hand fit about them. I love sig, i just hope they tighten their quality up in the future.
Love the 226, but won't touch anything else modern SIG makes. QC is absolutely abismal... Now it's even slipping into their classic line. SIG went from near the top to below Taurus level in ten years. Id literally take a Taurus over a 320.
They lost a lawsuit regarding the export of small arms into unstable regions (Mexico, Colombia) via the US without permission of the German authorities.

I'm so glad you're back, sir.
Looking really good Larry! You will be an inspiration for many people!
It's great too see you back Larry.

Beautiful pistol but I'm glad I still have my X5 Tactical from Germany.
She's old but still runs great.
Only Sig I own.
Having mine since 2007, the oldest Version without Rail. Had to decide between her and a 2011 Style like STI
Very nice! Good to see Larry. All the best.
I recently bought one and it is a wonderful pistol.
Looking real good, Larry !!
Larry looking about back to normal thank God ! Glad you survived the cancer bud we love ya ❤

No match in what, collector's value, you may have a point there I have seen tests, where the US ones proved to be the better shooters.
Accuracy is out of the equation since it involves human factors. The overall build quality and finishing.

WHY DID SIG SAUER GERMANY SHUT DOWN,
Can't compete with HK for government contracts. And civilian sales aren't very profitable in Europe compared to the US.
