I live in Hawaii on the Big Island. I work is super rocky conditions. Hitting rocks is unavoidable to me. I wear them way down and they still work. My knife lasted maybe 20 hours per side. I will be trying out the Carbide that they make. Drive shaft bearing housing needs grease every 500 hours. Straight from the manual.

What's the operating weight and GPM flow of the excavator you have this head mounted on ???
I'm looking to install a 36" head on a Kubota KX161-3 older version of the 0-57....
    Thanks,
    Tom

I really enjoyed your channel, I live in Florida and Iam in the land clearing business aswell I have been considering putting a mulcher on my kubata kx080 excavator, Just curious did you have to have your excavator hydraulics turned up to run your mulcher, Sometimes I have been considering just buying a skidsteer with a mulcher, you do some really nice work my friend 😇

A flail mulcher is better roadside mowing/mulching than one of those bushhog style mowers. They don't throw debris horizontally just straight at the ground as long as you keep it level just like with your mulcher.

Try hardsurfaceing your old cutters when your not busy. Probably not really worth it but its always interesting to try things 😉

You would have to balance them or it would throw the head out of balance and eat up bearings

does this unit take any gear oil (except the grease pumping) when doing manganese?

Great video, but it doesn’t show 4K on my TV, 1080 is the highest it shows

I was thinking about your case drain on the way to work this morning. Could you not put a small flat face coupler on it to save having to open it up and deal with caps every time?

I have thought about adding couplers; I just haven’t done it yet

How do you find forestry mulching jobs?

Another informative video. After watching you sharpen those teeth, if work gets slow, you could moonlight as a dental hygienists! 😂 😂. In “real time”, no video recording, how long does it actually take to completely do maintenance on your mulcher? You are correct..... grease is a lot cheaper than parts. 🇺🇸💪

If I do ask knives and grease fittings 1 and a half hours average

Manufacturer's asvise against over greasing, it will prevent the bearings from free spinning and they will lock up. Had it happen to a buddy's BRAND NEW head. Too much grease is equally as bad of a thing as much as too little grease.

It's 1080P, try 2K before 4K. Most cells and PC can handle 2K.

New to the channel, i love it so far been watching daily. Anyway my question is if you were just starting out what first piece of equipment would you buy and what attachments to get going? Tractor or skid loader, grapple bucket or brush hog etc, pickup truck dump trailer or dump truck etc you get the point.. TIA !

Are the cutters available with carbide blades? If so, cost delta? Yes, carbide runs several times longer but re-sharpening is difficult (I think). My sense tells me that severely worn cutters must surely cause imbalances in the drum assembly...if not the drum mass must offset. Considering one of these for my tracksteer but $25-30K doesn't leave my wallet without a lot of research. Love the channel and videos like these...appreciate the effort you put into them.

    • @fergusonlandmanagementweld3696
      @fergusonlandmanagementweld3696 2 года назад

Yes they can be sharpened, a set of teeth can last 80-100 hrs if your able to keep them or of the dirt and rocks. And any other little gems that brush like to grow up around! Lol

First. It's very expensive to run and maintain these.
