I am really enjoying watching this rare breeds series! I haven’t tried Lonk yet but I will. I find your explanations very helpful for a fairly new spinner so thank you very much. I am still trying to improve my fibre consistency and think I’m definitely improving with lots of practice! Now looking forward to the next breed. Thank you Becca.
Very relaxing to sit here and knit and watch you spin. I am a new spinner. I have an Ashford traditional also, and it's very instructive for me just to watch and listen to you. Thank you so much!
Looks great Becca, I'm looking forward to spinning Lonk. I'm happy to watch whatever length video suits you. Really excited to see your new loom, I am saving my pennies for one at the moment. Best wishes Jenny
THATS what the little s letter is!!! I'm with you in that I tell anyone that wants to start spinning to avoid Merino as their fiber. This is lovely fiber! Just do whatever time that your sharing takes! It doesn't matter what the numbers are I'm glad to see what you are doing!
Thank you for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I'm looking forward to sharing more handspinning and projects with hand spun as the year goes on . 🐏🧶
Thank you I'm always so happy when I can share something new . I hadn't come across stricken until I started researching the Lonk . I'm glad you enjoyed it. I am really looking forward to sharing some weaving adventures over the coming months . Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment I really appreciate it 🙏🐏🧶
I pretty much split all my slivers too! I wish I had have been shown this years ago as a new spinner as we all have had experience of clench fist syndrome 🤣 Ooh…. Excited to see your new loom 😬😬😬
I really don't understand why people are not taught to split down their fibre. Maybe they are these days. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos . And I am very excited about my new loom too . 🐏🧶
It's alright Becca, they defunded the craft police, so you won't get arrested for using bobbins with the remains of other projects on them. At least on my monitor, that lonk is slightly blue-ish. It's very nice.
Glad to hear the craft police are retired 🤣. Yes I think the grey fibers give it a blueish tint. I'm really looking forward to dyeing it and seeing how it looks.
Hi Becca, I hope you're both OK and Millie is too xx ❣️❣️❣️ Happy New Year to you and Andrew, I hope it's filled with everything you want it to hold. I was lanky and skinny, definitely not anymore either Thank you so much for sharing this video podcast. I live in Lancashire close to the border with Yorkshire. Your Lonk looks to have a bluey cast to it. I have some White Faced Woodland fibre, so will definitely be spinning along with you. Happy Spinning Special fibre friend 🛞🥰🐑🥰 Take care and stay safe Lots of love, blessings and huge hugs to you both and cuddles for Millie... Jen xxxx ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏👤👤👤🐕🦺👤👤
The grey fiber definitely gave it a bit of a bluish cast . I'm really looking forward to spinning the White faced woodland. Hope you are well and the weather is kind to you this coming week. 🐏
Hi Becca, I hope you're OK xx ❣️❣️❣️🐕🦺 Thank you so much for the Heart ❤ Sending Heart 💗 back to you❤️💞 Thank you so much for your lovely reply. I didn't realise that your Lonk fibre was grey that explains why it has a blue cast to it. While I was watching this video podcast, it was thundering and hailstones really battering on the windows. We woke yesterday to a very hard frost, then today awoke to a dusting of snow. I think we've had all the seasonal in 2 or 3 days. Fortunately I don't mind being housebound in the winter. Anyway enough about our weather. 🌪️🌪️❄️❄️ I hope the weather is kinder to you, this next week too.☔❄️ Happy Spinning Special Fibre Friend 🛞🥰🐑🥰 Take care and stay safe Lots of love and Big hugs to you and Andrew and Cuddles for Millie... Jen xxxx ❤️❤️❤️❤️👤👤👤👤👤🐕🦺👤👤
Unfortunately I can’t get any rare breed wool and only found two endangered sheep breeds here in Ireland. I loved your video especially you showing up close up how you were worsted spinning the wool it was very clear. Am new to spinning and just started dyeing my wool with natural dyes I’ve found around me so would love to see your process and any tips on spinning and dyeing. Happy new year and thank you for your videos and appreciate the time that it takes you.
Thank you for watching. I am so glad you found my video useful. I will definitely be sharing more natural dyeing. I tend to forage my dye plants too . I have a couple of winter dye projects to share this month. 🐏🧶

Can confirm - Lonk wool makes fabulous socks. I like to ply it with Romney or Texel.
Those sound like amazing socks. Thank you for leaving a comment. 🙏🐏

I was called Hop Pole as a child. Tall and skinny! Grew up in Kent.
Not skinny nowadays either
That makes total sense 😁🐏
