Hi , is this light are road legal?
@@dilon7537 yeah
Great idea on measuring it and marking the middle. That way you have a SURE center
Yes it would look weird if it were even off center by an inch. On this vehicle the hood comes to a point to make knowing center on the car easy to find. But quick tip for cars with rounded bumpers the simplest way to find the center of the hood is to refer to the emblem. It’s always centered. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

I was tying to find a fuse to tie into under the hood and all that are on only when the car is on are 40 Amp or higher. I'm thinking it's not a good idea to tie into those?
All the good fuses to tie into that are around the 10 to 20 Amp are in the car by the feet of the passenger. Hmmm 🤔
Thank you for sharing
But witch fuse to connect it ? Tks
The parking light fuse is best to tap into. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

You took off the weather striping in the very beginning. Did you put it back on? If not how did you protect the area where it used to be?
Yes I actually glued it back ontop of the light strip in the same location where it came off to fill that gap. I had to trim some of the plastic part to make it fit. Thanks for your question. Hope this helped. Please like and subscribe
So what happens when you need to change a bulb, or need to remove the headlights? You have the strip on it now, that goes all along the grill as well.
If you have to change the bulbs you still can. They are accessed from the wheel well as you can see in my video here:
ruclips.net/video/OrZWtJLXwN8/видео.html
The only time I can see needing to remove the whole housing or bumper is if you have been in an accident. Then removing the strip won’t even be on your mind because the repair is so big. If you wanted to save it then you could peel carefully but then you would have to use glue to re attache. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe.
Sir, my wife has an Equinox and I was can you mount on the lip of the hood or is mounting like you did the best place?? Thank you for assistance
The manufacturer of the light strip has some install videos that show the strip being installed on the hood side. However the way the hood on the equinox is designed the front is slanted down so it will stick, but it won’t be facing straight out. That’s why I chose the location I did because it provides the best mounting angle and perfect adherence. Also I advise you to hook the wire to the fuse like I did, but instead of the DRL, I switched it to the parking light fuse. Works best there. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Where is a good place to put this led light strips on a 2018 Chevy volt I couldn’t find a good fuse location I will appreciate it you can tell me where will be a good location thank you 🙏🏼 great video by the way 💪🏼
When you took the fog light fuse out did you leave it out? In other words did the led strip replace the fog lights?
That is correct. The led strip fuse replaces the fog light fuse. So the fog light still works. And now I have a spare fuse. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Thank you for this video. I ordered this and am learning some stuff before I install it.
If I plug this led light in, is it already programmed to do it’s thing. So no matter if I piggyback with the headlights, parking light, daytime running lights, fog lights it will all be exactly the same result?
Thank you for any help.
That is correct. The startup scan sequence is programmed into the light already. All you need it a power source. It will work the same scan at startup no matter where you connect it. Just make sure you tap into a fuse that shuts off when you turn the car off. Here is how to find the right fuse: ruclips.net/video/UYbqB1lwu50/видео.htmlsi=3clrP4RnFWf4jJZZ

The fuse you took out to connect the red wire which fuse did you take out from. What is the acc fuse and where to find it. Trying to install first timer lol
I’m assuming you also have a Chevy equinox? If so, pop open the fuse box lid and look for spot #18 on the map on your lid. It’s a blue 15 amp fuse on the top left corner of your fuse box. That’s the parking lights which are the lights that glow on your brake light when the brake isn’t pressed. I switched the piggyback fuse to that one. I actually couldn’t find the acc fuse so the parking light works perfect. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Does it only work whenever the car starts, or whenever you unlock the car, or both?
All depends what you hook it up to. I have mine hooked to the parking lights so if I unlock the car during the day it won’t turn on. But if I unlock it durning night it turns on. Also when I drive it stay off during the day and when it’s dark enough for headlights and parking lights to auto turn on it also comes on. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 So whenever I am unlocking my car, my turn signals turn on, and not the parking lights at all. Just got mine today and worked on install. I wired to the DRL and also tried the fog light fuse. The lights stay on constantly even with the engine off. Not sure what is wrong. Any suggestions? I don't understand why they would be on with the car off.
Try locating the fuse for the parking lights. I ended up piggybacking off that one off camera because then the lights only come on at night. So I have them off during the day. I’m not sure why yours would stay on with the engine off. If it is piggybacked off a fuse then it should turn off when you remove key. The only time I’ve seen it stay on is when people wire direct to the battery. If the steps I mentioned don’t work then try flipping your fuse 180 and putting it in the other way. Not sure if they can go backwards but maybe you have it backwards. Thanks for watching. Hope this works out for you. Please like and subscribe
@Bill Of All Trades in my prius i found parking lights fuse which is inside the car, sucks. Since its 10a then i would need an extra 5a for the fuse tap? There is however in engine compartment turn signal/hazard fuse, could use that instead? If I want the led strip to come on only when I turn the lights on.
@@skorpyo331 I would suggest a 15amp fuse to tap into. You can try something that has a 10. But I went with 15 because the light strip is pretty powerful. Don’t want to blow a fuse. Also you have to choose a fuse with constant stream of power. Signal and hazard lights only provide pulses of current so your led strip wot work properly. If you want an easier route you can also use a t-tap wire connector and tap into the headlight positive wire on the wiring harness. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
I have a Mazda CX-5 GT with the exact same issue. I was trying to piggyback off of the fog light, but the strip light stayed on all the time, no matter if I turned the Fogs off or even the engine off. My only thought is to try to tap into the wire from the headlight assembly but for now, I'm putting this on hold for fear of screwing up something. If you find the solution to this, please post it.
@@karl5997 I would suggest buying a circuit tester pen for 12 volt circuits. They only cost $5. Turn the car on and Take the pen and test all your 15 amp fuses. Mark down which ones have power. Then shut the vehicle off and test them again. Mark down which ones turn off. Piggy back off one that turns off.
Those stock adhessive that came with on the LED light are cheap and will not stick good on the hood when going against the wind. I ended up removing them cheap adhessive and put a much better adhessive tape on it. To keep it stay on without the led light strip coming off. My 2018 traverse does not have an accessories fuse to connect the wires to it.
Huh. Lol the wind has no affect on the light strip because when you close the hood it pinches it down and keeps it in place… if it’s installed properly. The adhesive works very well. I installed mine in the middle of winter and it stick super strong even in the cold. Perhaps you didn’t clean your surface properly. Did you use rubbing alcohol to clean it well?
When I connected mine, it stayed on when the car was turned off, do you why that is or how I can fix that? Also, if my headlights are set to auto, will it turn on automatically with the headlights or does it stay on permanently while car is on?
Thank you in advance

Thank you for responding and for the tip, that helped. I connected it to the left headlight fuse. What fuse would you recommend? Is there a fuse that will turn on only at night? Possibly the fog light fuse?
I was hoping to connect it to a fuse where it will automatically turn on with the lights while in headlight auto mode
I put mine into the parking light fuse. So mine only come on at night.
Does the fog lights still work once we remove the fuse for the fog lights 🤔?
Yes they still work as you are putting the fuse back into the piggyback adapter. This method allows you to borrow power by splitting into the power source. It works the same way as plugging a power bar into your outlet at home. Everything works together. It just gives you an extra plug. Thanks for your question. Please like and subscribe

I tried installation on my car. It didn’t work. I tap to horn fuse for the power and black wire goes to a bolt on the frame. Horn works but no lights after ignition is on. I applied 12 DC power to the strip and leds lit up so it is good.
If you hook it to the horn fuse it’s only gonna activate when you blow the horn. Tap into something that’s always on while ignition is on and off when the ignition is off. Such as headlight, fog light, DRL, parking lights, or ignition fuse. Hope this helps. Please like and subscribe

@@BillOfAllTrades2016 what about a 2015 Silverado?
Does your lid have the diagram on it? I would suggest either parking lamp fuses in spots 28 & 28. Also you can go with fog lamp fuse in spot 39 if the vehicle is equipped. That will give you control if you want it off or on while driving. Also you could use the headlamp fuse in spot 59. The parking lamp fuses and the fog lamp fuse are 2 pin mini fuse so you would need a 2 pin piggyback fuse connector. The headlamp is a 3 pin fuse so you would need a 3 pin piggyback connector for that one. All are located in the engine compartment fuse box. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. For some reason when i use the fuse for the fog light mine dont work i dont actually have fog lights on mine its just the trun signal which fuse is the parking light you said you used in one of the other comments ?
It will only work when the fog lights are activated if you did that. The lid of any fuse box should have a map of what fuses are what. Ideally you want to piggy back a fuse that's activated when ignition is turned on and not by something like headlights or windscreen wipers
On this equinox it’s spot 18. That is the far back left corner of the fuse box. It’s a 15 amp fuse. Here is I link to a video I made that better shows the parking light fuse location. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
@leighhumphrey2779 yea I know i had a 19 that had fog lights and now the 21 that doesn't but I didn't realize that at first when trying to install the lights iv tried the fog light obviously didn't work and the DRl which didn't work either so I'm gonna try what this guy did and to the parking lights
@BillOfAllTrades2016 thanks bro and just from looking at the way yours is set up it looks just like my fuse box so it should be the same I'll update torrow and let you of I got it to work I didn't buy the same brand you used but mine look basically the same the box is even the same I may have to buy a different fuse tap then what came with mine so we will see again thanks
You’re welcome. What brand did you buy? Most of them are the same. Just repacked with a new brand on it. I like the parking light fuse because it only comes on at night.
Mine lights up for 5 seconds then quits. It's tied to the ACC fuse. Any ideas?
Is the car still running when the light quits? I’m thinking one of your connections is not secure enough. Check all connections and make sure there is no visible damage to the light strip. The light strip should be tested before sticking down so if it has a fault, it can be exchanged. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

did you just leave the red tape on the other adhesive side?
Yes. Because if you peel off that tape, when you close the hood it will also stick to the hood and seal it shut. And the tape won’t show when it’s closed. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe.
Where do I pick up a piggyback fuse
Any local auto parts store or Amazon.
How about you don't have to mess wirh the fuse and just tap it to the DRL wire? Is it safe?
You can tap into the DRL directly yes. But it involves peeling the wheel well back and then you also have a break in your wiring. This is super easy. All in the engine bay and doesn’t tamper with anything. You could remove the fuse tap and put the old fuse back and never know there was a modification. This method I showed is safe. Hey i got 2 yellow wires 1 green and red and black how do i do it
You must return it for the correct one. For a dynamic hood led strip there are only two wires. You must have ordered something else or had wrong item sent to you. The only way I could see there being that many wires is for a truck tailgate strip light because you would have a black and a red for ground and positive. Your two yellow wires are one for each turn signal. And the green most likely for the reverse light.
What am I doing wrong? I installed my lights but the lights are on even when the key is out of the vehicle. Can someone help me?
Take a circuit test pen and test other fuses. Some fuses stay on even when the vehicle is off. ie pcm, clock, so you will need to locate with the pen a fuse that actually powers down when key is turned off. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

How do I get the cables to the fuse panel if it’s on the interior by the steering wheel?
There are a couple options. You can look at the firewall and try to find wires that travel through a existing factory hole. It will have a rubber grommet on it. If that’s not an option then you can look at running the wire through the fender. On the vehicle in this video if I open the drivers door then I can see a gap near the strut mount point where there is a gap. Then when you fish it through the gap in the fender you are good to go. Hi. I put it on a fog lamp fuse 15a but its not working.
What is the original amperage of the fuse that you removed when putting the piggyback fuse?
In my car manual the fuse box diagram tells me there are a few 10A fuses that are marked as 'spare'. I'm guessing that's the one I'm using when connecting the red wire?
After filming this video I switched the red wire to the 15 amp fuse labeled as parking light so it will only turn on at night. The parking light is the best one to go into. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

Trying to do this on my hybrid car, will the adapter work? My fog light and headlights always come on together.
What adapter are you referring to?
On my 2010 Ford Ranger it doesn't have any fuses under the hood to tap into that powers off the light strip when you turn your ignition off. All the fuses that do this are located in a fuse box located on the interior passenger side making it EXTREMELY hard to do this. I suppose the thing I don't know how to approach at the moment is where exactly this will go in relation to the weather strip, and which of the engine plastics will have to be removed, they're pretty well layered on in the Accord. Will keep doing research.
Awesome thanks. Ya I’m he piggyback fuse I ding is the safest way. The t tap splicing method is not very long term as they are not waterproof connectors. The piggyback can stay safe in the fuse box. I removed 4 separate pieces of weather strip to make room because you have to remember that rubber strip light will also act as a weather strip when it’s installed. 2 of my weatherstrips above my headlights were put back on after so I just glued them back over top of the light strip onto the red tape part. Another thing to make you feel more confident, you can buy cheap multi packs of fuses just in case one blows and you can just replace it. I hope I never have to remove my bumper for anything because all my bolts are under the light strip. Lol
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 You just answered another question I came up with when looking at things yesterday - does this 'replace' the weather strip... it appears that it does, at least in my case. I took another look and I will definitely have to remove the weather strip off the lip of the hood - it's simply connected by over a dozen snap caps. I think that once that's out, this LED strip will easily replace its former position...only one way to find out! Side note, a really good alternative to using glue is 3M double sided tape, it's actually advertised for body kits. It's extremely strong. I broke one of the clips after removing my bumper once, and have the tape in its place.
I’ll have to check that tape out. I happened to have some construction adhesive in the basement that needed to be used up lol. The Chevy weatherstrip comes in 5 pieces. One with clips ontop of each headlight, one 5 inch piece beside each headlight and one long one attached to the middle of the hood. When I get back to Canada, the company that sent me this will be sending me interior lights as well to light up the foot wells.
I'm having a hard time with the Fuse portion, as the Fuse adapters I got won't fit into the Fuse box (they're the right size, just too much going on in the fuse box). So I'm trying to find this fuse tap at other online stores, but can't.
Because princessauto says it only ships to North Dakota? When I go to checkout, I can only choose North Dakota, which doesn't work. For obvious reasons. Thanks!
Just wrap it around the fuse and stick it in 🤷
So even though it’s connected to the daytime running light, will it still run at night?
My daytime running lights run day and night. Not sure why. Afterwards off camera I switched it to the parking light fuse so it will only come on at night. So it can save run time. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 thank you!
You’re welcome
I can't find my 2012 tiguan 12v fuse :(
Check the fuse map on the lid of the fuse box
Super happy you posted this. I bought the same strip, but it had no instructions included. Im guessing that I can enable or disable the strip light with the fog lamp switch in my car?
Thanks for watching. I’m glad you found this video. I was surprised as well about the lack of instructions. If you hooked up the light strip to your fog lights then yes you can control it with the switch in your car. If you turn off the fog lights it will also turn the strip off. Hope the install goes well. Take care and please like and subscribe
I'm looking to put this same Silverholder strip on my 2023 Equinox. Is the drl fuse labeled? Having a problem trying to figure out this setup.
Every fuse should be labeled. Can you please take a picture of the fuse box layout as well as a picture of the inside of the fuse box lid. It should have a map on it. If you would like to email those to me at billyberrill@gmail.com I can help guide you to find the location. And it doesn’t have to be the DRL. We can choose another fuse.
why do they have double sided tape on it ?
Well as you saw I had my wires facing the drivers side as that’s where the fuse box is located. If the fuse box were on the passenger side you would need to flip it so the wires face the other way. And also some people stick it to the actual hood itself. If I were to stick it to the hood I would have used the other tape side instead. It makes it so it can be installed on any vehicle in any position needed. Thanks for your question. Please like and subscribe
Where did you buy the piggy fuse. Can you please share
I am trying to do this on a 2008 Ford Escape. I want to use the piggyback that you used but I think the fuse for the fog lamps on my car is inside the cockpit. Do you think I could piggyback on any other fuse in the engine compartment?
Yes you can use any other 15amp fuse in the engine bay that is powered on when you turn the key and powered off when you remove the key. You may want to buy a $5 test pen light to check which fuse has power when vehicle is running and powers off with no key because some fuses stay on even when you remove the key. The fog light was just an example for the equinox as every vehicle is different. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
@Bill Of All Trades Thank you!!! Much appreciated and keep up the good work!!
No worries. Will do. I have a lot of demo install videos coming up from collaborative companies products as well as a bunch of accessories I recently bought. Stay tuned. And take care
Hey, will I need the same fuse for 2022 Honda Passport EX-L?
Yes this 15 amp fuse with piggyback fuse is the same for any vehicle. The only difference is where your specific fuse is located as different manufacturers lay out the box differently. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 thanks for getting back to me. I really appreciate your response. Anyway, do I have to get that exact one? The store that you bought it from doesn’t seem to deliver to my state. What other site can I get this from.
No worries. You can check out a company called carxk. Here is my affiliate link for them:
carxk.com/?ref=IcbDmbnB
If you order through that link and use my promo code BILLYBERRILL then you will get 10% off your purchase. Once you go to that link check their lighting section. They have tons of stuff.
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 : so, can I order the part I need through that site? I am not seeing that fuse connection I asked about.
Oh. Sorry. About that. The light strip doesn’t come with the fuse connector. I bought that separately. If you go to any local auto parts store near you they have them for a few dollars. I’m in communication with both companies to get those included but that will take a long while.
They pay you to do that??
Yes. I make commission off all units sold from my affiliate link in my description.
what fuze did you plug this into im assuming the headlamps
Afterwards I actually put it into the parking light fuse so it only comes on when I drive at night. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
I hooked mine up like it said to. Started up the vehicle and light strip worked. Turned off my truck, unplugged the light strip and now my truck will turn over but not start.
If it worked, why did you unplug it? And what fuse did you tap into? Also maybe scan your vehicle for codes. Doubt that the light strip caused your vehicle not to start. Probably and underlying issue
Where do you get that piggyback fuse harness
I purchase mine from princess auto. However if you don’t have that store near you then you can buy at whatever local auto parts store is near you. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Does princess auto have a website?
Yes here is the link

My car did not have any DRL or fog light fuse. Use the cooling fan relay
Whatever you do, DO NOT use the cooling fan relay… or and relay/fuse designated to a vital engine component. That thing sorts or malfunctions you are stuck on the side of the road overheated. Put it in the parking light fuse instead.
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 I don't believe I have a parking light fuse. My vehicle is a 2019 Hyundai Veloster Premium
Any relays you would recommend?
Well done and helpful. Thank you!

Does it stay on during the entire time you are driving with lights on?
It will stay solid white as you drive yes. Looks super sharp. Thanks for checking out my videos. Please like and subscribe
Electronic Rust stop? Never heard of that
Ya it’s popular here in Canada. It has sacrificial anodes that are supposed to rust instead of the frame and body. Similar concept as a water heater. Doesn’t actually work. I’ve been meaning to remove it. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe.
I have a 2019 Chevy Malibu lt
Awesome.
Don't use 110VAC wire nuts for 12VDC car applications. Please. Just get a short length of heat shrink tubing, and solder the connection, or get the crimp-on connectors that have the solder inside, so you just heat them and you're done. If you are going to do wiring in a car, please, do it right.
Thanks for your comment. heat shrink and solder is a better bond for sure, however I use what I have available in the house. The wire nut I used is still holding strong almost 2 years later. If I were to buy a solder gun, solder and shrink tubes it would cost as much is the light strip I’m putting it on. I have a handful of wire nuts in the toolbox unused because everytime you buy a new light fixture it comes with new free ones.
Still doesn't explain how to hardwired it to the fuse box which defeats the whole purpose of demonstration. My car does have the accessories fuse and I have no idea which fuse to hook it up. I have the 2018 chevrolet traverse.
Why do you need to hardwire it in? The company suggests this method. A fuse tap is the most efficient and affordable way. And the fuse box is different for every vehicle. You need to test your fuses to see which one to tap into. So instead of blaming the video then perhaps you should research more specific to your vehicle. But thanks for watching
Great vid! I'm curious what you will do if you need to remove your headlights or your front bumper?
Well I’m hoping I never do. But if I do then I will have to peel the strip up to gain access and hope it comes off in a manner where it can be glued back on again. Or I could peel the other strip off and reattach it. But let’s hope that doesn’t happen lol. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

great video, may i ask how do you change the color? thanks
This particular led strip was the solid white one and does not change color. If you want it to change color then select the dynamic hood led strip on the silverholder website and it will ask you what size and color you want before you checkout. Select multi color app control as your color. Then when you install it, it will change through the app. As far as the app is concerned, I’m not sure what app it uses as I don’t use the color changing one. I know right. Super awesome. Great conversation piece for passers by.
This is the most close item comparing to yours.
What country do you live in? We are in Canada. I bought from a company called princess auto
Aye you did a great job until you pulled that house connecter out lmao...
Yes not everyone agrees with that. But if they think that’s no good they can simply put a shrink wrap connector (as I did mention). This is my car and I’m ok with it. And it’s still holding nicely. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
@BillOfAllTrades2016 I don't see the big deal with using that marrette seeing as you placed it in the sealed fuse box. Now if you didn't, then that would be a different story. Thanks for the video
Thanks. Finally someone agrees. Yes if it was out and exposed then proper connector and shrink wrap would be used. The fuse box is weatherproof. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

Just deviates from the instructions a tad lol
How so? It came with no instructions
Should have just attached it to the top of the hood
The hood has weatherstripping that would not allow the light to stick to. And the wire will hang. This is the way the supplier suggests the install. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
I disagree. it’s better not to have the strip moving, and it would look the same
Akosa117 yes agreed. No reason to have it attached to the hood. It’s unnecessary wear and tear. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 not all applications allow the install be on the core support. I installed one on my escalade and the best location for me was the hood.
There are enough bad reviews on amazon for light strips saying they don't last for me not to touch this bs.
Mine has been a year with no issues. I installed one on my coworkers car that was a different brand and it’s also been in for a year with no issue.
