I loved this video because it was so in depth and organized! “Meet the teacher night” is not something we ever learn about in my classes or in internships so this was very helpful! My 4th grade year was soo crazy.We had a total of 9 substitutes the first 4 weeks. And got our first official teacher but he screamed "shut up" and broke a clip board. and he never came back the next day. We got another official teacher and she was the BEST!

I wish they had those when I was at primary school because I have severe social anxiety so those would have made it so much easier instead of being picked on by the teacher all the time because I knew the answer but never wanted to put up my hand or say the answer out loud in front of other kids.
This is so put together! I’m an 8th grader and my meet the teachers night was so thrown together as my teacher was 7 months pregnant. This is so cool and pretty!

At my school in our math class we also use number talks. The only thing my class did differently was that we got to make our symbols for them. I saw it and was like they do it too.

Thank you so much! It would totally depend on your school community. If most of your students have Internet access, it would work really well! You may need to have a plan B for any families that do not have Internet access though!

Chelsea Pena In the past I’ve been pretty up front with the parents about the supplies being used for the class. If they want something to solely be used by their child they can just store it at home.

I prefer your way of meet the teacher before the beginning of school. We do not have that luxury and it possesses difficulty of waiting for school buses, feeding hungry kids and getting back to the school to find parking spaces. We are all there for exactly on half hour.
We do have a "Back to School" night that takes place after school during the first week.

Exactly! I am a student in Bulgaria, in the 9th grade and it's completely different in here! This looks so welcoming and hospitable, as a workspace. Both of the schools I've been at (primary and now high school) have the same "layout" - tables for all of the students, 2 students per table, a single whiteboard, behind the teacher's desk. Sometimes there are special classes, or we go to one of the few rooms, equipped with a projector (either a meetings' room or an IT room) and I'd love to have her as a teacher, doesn't really matter that I'm not in the 2nd/4th grade anymore. She's so caring, and dedicated - sadly I have had only a couple of teachers like her (out of maybe 50, during my whole "student career".

This is amazing!! You inspire me to become an elementary school teacher one day! It’s been hard for me since people have been discouraging ,e because people stigmatize negatively on male elementary teachers. Do you have any tips for me on how to not be discouraged by that?
I would suggest reaching out to a male elementary teacher for advice! I'm sure they can give you some great words of wisdom!
Just my opinion for what worth....children need to learn from diverse teachers. Male, female, young and old, all races etc. It helps them become more well rounded for many reasons. GO FOR IT!!! If you can change a child's life, they won't care if you are male or female!
OneDerriction When I was in elementary school I had a male teacher and everyone in my class loved him! Sometimes being a male teacher is better! Best of luck to you!
