  • @Johnny.Demonic
    @Johnny.Demonic 2 дня назад +14

    Bills fan, saw the hit on Rodgers and knew right away they were gonna call it. They call that for Rodgers and allen and mahomes and... but not bo nix, their not giving that call to Zach Wilson. This is a call that needs to be taken out of the refs hand. They should be able to throw a flag in concern of an unnecessary roughness but it should be confirmed by replay officials, like targeting in college.
    The nba reviews flagrant, the nhl does the same thing. But the NFL has chosen to keep their officials in the realm of infalability. They don't want to hold their referees accountable.
    In international cricket a referee has the option to rule on a play as undecided. Meaning that if the (pitch) was wide of the strike zone or about to be an (out), the ref can say 'i don't know' an use replay to make the decision! Not confirm the forced call on the field but to be exactly like the viewer at home and say, 'i didn't see it from the right angle, i really can't call it, let me see some other camera angles to make a decision'
    The NFL (and the MLB but even they are being better) would rather have an official make a quick and game altering call based on whether they think that a player could have done a little more to avoid falling on top of another player whilst trying to bring that player to the ground. The NFL believes no assistance is necessary to make that call. They believe their referees are infalable and should not be held accountable.

    Not that this is an excuse but this was two teams that don't like each other and specifically some guys on the Bills offense have mutual beef with the Jets Defense, so after it started to get chippy early in the second quarter something like this was gonna happen. My father told me at half time the game was either gonna get sloppy or there was gonna be a fight.

      I really think that the refs were trying to keep control of the game because they knew the teams did not like each other. Bills fans know it. These are nasty dirty games. Every year. I mean the lights go out and a fight breaks out.
      BTW... back in the day there were more fights in the stands at a Jets game in Buffalo than any other game. Quite a few drunken college students from NYC attending school in Buffalo would go.

    • @howitzer551
      @howitzer551 12 часов назад

      @@jamessnee7171 I am a Bills fan I am aware. I think you are right they tried to keep control, I just think they failed (well the benches didn't clear). Specifically the point where they stopped the game even when there weren't penalties a bunch of times in a row, one was clock, one was confusion about whether the Bills where in no huddle or not and should the jets be allowed to sub, and I think one more. All of them took too long and that perceived indecisiveness (not sure if the refs really were confused) gets players tense. I was a shitty D3 player that barely saw the field so I don't think its the same but I have seen similar stuff happen both in the game and from the sidelines. In hindsight even you yourself think "How did it get that bad"? But in the moment all you thinking is "These Clowns(refs) don't know what they are doing why should I listen to them".

So my question...why has the talent gotten so bad they can't do a play without a violation? Or have the Rules to protect safety gotten out of hand? If the League really wants to emphasize player safety...how about getting rid of artificial turf? Then decide if these Rules are really necessary

Some of these refs are reaching in their pocket to throw a flag before the penalty occurs ? You can't hit QB's & WR's too high, too low or too hard. Like Peyton Manning, then Tom Brady, and now Pat Mahomes, they get calls in their favor on request.

    The officiating was mostly fine, the players were responsible. Formation penalties, offsides, false starts, chippy and confrontational attitudes leading to penalties after the play was dead... It was a shambles of the players making. I could even understand the roughing penalty questioned by Rodgers, although I didn't agree with it, because there was a double move. The officials get it in the neck all the time, but it's not always on them.

    Nobody is talking about the infractions that were called penalties, we are talking about the penalties that were called that weren’t penalties. Or the Rodgers fumble that was clearly a fumble. Or the roughing the passer calls. Get the calls right or don’t be a ref, it’s that simple.

    Thats the comment you wanna make? That some of them are penalties and should be called? What about the 12 other ones they made up? When are people with a platform going to have enough spine to criticize awful officiating? And you have to push back on the whiney morons after the game, too. Don't water down the legit complaints. Facts are facts. Refs are better this year than the previous couple seasons AND last night was an abomination. The refs made themselves the main character. They stole the spotlight from two good football teams and said "LOOK AT ME!". Can't have it.

    This game in fact was the NFL trying to rig a game. And everything Rich brings up here absolute proves it. “They used replay assist on the garret wilson catch” which is AGAINST THE RULES. The Jets HAVE TO CHALLENGE IT to get it overturned. The NFL used replay assist to overturn a penalty against the Jets, NEVER ONCE did they do the same for Buffalo. The NFL called roughing the passer on Epenesa for no reason whatsoever. Or how about how the NFL reinstated the tuck rule for just a single play to help the Jets avoid an obvious fumble.
    It would be bad enough if any one of these happened in a game, but they all happened and more than what I brought up. It’s pretty obvious the NFL was attempting to add intrigue to the season by evening out the AFC east.
    And i know originally thought it was just the refs messing up, but then both teams just so happen to trade for WRs within about an hour of each other. Which is were the cover up happens. You see cause what happened once the trades happened? Everyone stopped talking about the officiating last night.
    Ohh and what’s really bad, is the NFL completely failed at trying to rig a game. Which ultimately shows how terrible the Jets are. They get all the help in the world and still lose.

      The refs called a penalty and removed the Jets winning TD. If not for that penalty the Jets win.

      @@yourepathetic6706 Brockman is not a pundit, even loosely identified. Truth is more important than homerism. You are a bigger loser, identified by the fact that that was a little swing, but a grand slam. He spends his time trying to keep the Patriots "dynasty" staying in the limelight. Probably you too, it IS all you have to hang onto in today's NFL.

    The NFL has made to many rules to where there is a penalty by the rule book every play that could be called. People get mad because they call to many but also get mad if they don't call enough.
