I got one of these at the gas station Saturday
The U.S. Silver Certificate of 1935-1957 may be hard to find, but the U.S. Silver Certificate Horse Blanket of 1835-1934 is even much more harder to find. In fact, the very first time we’ve seen the Eye of Providence and the Great Seal of the United States on our currency was in 1835. But those symbols go as far back as May 1st, 1776.
My mother was escorted out of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank when she demanded to redeem her silver certificates. This was in the 70's I think. END THE FED!
The government changed the law regarding the silver certificate dollar back in 1968 whereby you could not redeem it for silver coins.
In early 2011, I tried redeeming a 1957 $1 silver certificate I found for a silver dollar in the bank (I truly didn’t know the redemption period ended almost 43 years earlier) and the teller got a good laugh and told me that it was only worth face.
I keep them. They’re a reminder that our nation used to have an actual economy. That our money was once worth something.
Thank you for your time and information on the Silver Certificate. I have come across some and didn’t realize how interesting they are. As I’m looking through them I feel the history and that I’m touching history. Who has touched/owned this bill before me.

I won a $1 1957 Silver Cert. last weekend in a livestream. Ive been wanting one and I happened to win one!! I then went to my LCS and over payed for 4 more LOL $5 each!!! 1935's, but at least they came in plastic envelopes

There are 4 mules in the 35 series. The 35m plain and 35m plain*, and the 35am and the 35am*
I have 1- 1957 , 1- 1957A , 3- 1957B, one of them is also a star note the star is hallow and all 5 are blue notes and the star note has secretary Dillon's name plus all of them have the large number on the front and the small number on the back

I have a question concerning steel pennies, i have 3 high quality apparently theyve been cleaned , seriously this is how i got them, my question is are they restoreable? I dont want to pay the 90 plus $ If they cant get the ms66 or higher grade i think they are worthy of. Love your vids. And thank you, i value your advice.
missfixit05, just let them naturally retone over time. Just make sure they don't rust.
If you can tell they've been cleaned, they're not going to get graded at MS66.
The problem with the steel cents is that the sheets the blanks were punched from was plated, which means the edges weren't. As a result, they have a tendency to rust along the edges. If the cleaning was severe enough to strip the zinc off part of the faces, those areas are going to want to rust as well.
Sometimes you'll see steel cents labeled something like "reprocessed", in which case they've been cleaned and replated, but it gives the coins an unnaturally shiny finish.

Bad Danny, that sounds like an error. It's definitely worth more than a run of the mill 1935 E silver certificate. I'm not sure how much though.
