Great video Brant glad the game warden was pretty chill congrats on catching your Yellow Jack even when your plans fall apart you are still able to pull it together makes for a great day
Great video Brant! Love Brad’s response to “Any big ones?” Lol. Man, you just seem to find the spots, even when you have no idea where to fish. That really shows how good a fisherman you really are. Awesome job. Thanks for sharing!!!
Yellow Jack.Nice. Great shot of that Jack chasing it in . Brant I love it when you and that guys come down to Southern Florida. Great to see you all having fun. Been watching you, Matt, and Brad grow and develop. Been a fun time. Going out in the EverGlades tomorrow for Peacock. Should be a nice break from Saltwater, bay inshore. Thanks.
Good job on getting the fish out of the structure. If that boat hadn't come by, you may have forgotten to check your line; hidden blessing. Love the catch and cook, always interesting to see how to prep n cook different species. Greetings from the west coast!
I’m glad you mentioned the expiration of fishing license l, I’ll have to check it for Florida. I’ve done more fishing in Alabama than I did in Florida this year. Enjoy your time at the Keys.
Brant I just wanted to say thanks. I’ve watched several of your Everglades videos. This week we vacationed at Cape Coral and the day I had designated to be a Everglades bridge trip a kidney stone shut me down. I did make the next day for a couple of hours and landed my first tarpon on a nose hooked white fluke. I’ve hung tarpon from the keys to my home state of NC, but this was the first I’ve put my hands on. My curse is broken so thanks. And thanks for the great videos all you guys put out.
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist9And this was relevant to the topic at hand how? I think Matthew 6:5 is very relevant given that you are preaching on the internet equivalent of a street corner. Matthew 6:5 And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
Great content! I'm the same way... my favorite type of fishing is simply driving until I find a spot that looks "fishy" and giving it a few casts. There are so many great unmapped spots throughout the Keys... and the Panhandle. Tight lines buddy...
Brant, Bama Bumm, Brad and Ron the camera guy are awesome guys!! They give awesome content and they are so damm down to earth just great guys who truly love what they do! ❤
I am from Connecticut I moved here to live in Florida to fish the gulf of Mexico from Panama to the keys I've only made is far as fort Meyers but I fish it from shore and under bridges I fished like this my whole life I really enjoy your videos because it's good to see others enjoy the fun on nice easy gear and fighting them again keep a tight line and enjoy the fight
Love your videos, Brant - and the other beach bums too! Do you think y'all could do a video on how you organize the gear you store at home, and how to pack for specific fishing trips (pier, surf, inshore, offshore)? Links to BBO products would be awesome too!
Grew up in Kissimmee and never really understood what fishing resources i had around me growing up until i moved out of FL. Used to fish 5-7 days a week for bass on Toho and other Kissimmee chain of lakes and made at least 2 trips a year to Marathon. Had no idea what gems those locations really are until i dind't have them in my back yard lol.
Wow! Great fishing. Wish I was there. Yeah, you were very lucky. In WV you would've surely gotten a ticket. My jaw almost dropped when he let you go without even checking. When I moved to WV in 93, I used to fish often. I would say in my first 5 years here, I got stopped and checked by the game warden around 6 times. One time I was at Sutton dam where there were about 70 people fishing. We caught our limit (which is 6 each). But the guy I was with caught 1 bass with 6. So we went to the parking lot and were going to clean them in the back of the truck. Out of no where DNR pulls up and wants to count our fish. My friend says, "buddy, I hate to blow your cover, but one of those fish is a bass, (which he totally didn't believe)." When he saw that it was, he was not happy. He thought he had some violators and was going to clean our clock. When we were leaving, I kept playing in my mind," with all those fisherman out there, how the heck were they focused on us?" Because you couldn't tell they were anywhere around.
Was down in the keys at the same time apparently. Last week? Didn't get to do much fishing though. Spent an hour jigging horsetail jigs on a few of the old railway bridges without success. Tried a chug bug instead on the last day and had a monster blow up on it but did not get a hook set. Seeing you pull those jacks in off the side of the road makes me wish I had tried those spots. Next time!
Throw that jig out there way away from the bridge and reel it back as fast as you possibly can while making the jig jump occasionally ....try to keep it near the surface somewhat. Jacks act a lot like mackerel in that they love their prey moving fast. Mackerel will often turn away if you slow down....LOL....but jacks are not as bad.....still.... they prefer the dramatic insanity of a feeding frenzy. Fast reeling mimics that panic situation ; It's a turn-on for them. .
I had the same thing happen to me on New Smyrna Beach. I was parked on the beach and had my phone in the vehicle. I was wading out to get more distance and was stopped. I was informed that my fishing license must be on my body at all times while fishing. No ticket.
So funny I happen upon this video, I actually was driving south on the highway and saw the ranger walking toward you. My truck is visible as I drove by crazy !
Where you’re fishing I do a lot of lobstering during the season. The channel runs right along the shoreline and on the backside is very shallow grass flats. The channel edge has large bolders, which is the structure you’re hanging on. If you make it down during lobster season grab a snorkel and go catch some.
I literally had to go to court last year because my fishing license expired and I hadn’t noticed when I showed up in court the district attorney just laughed and said, see you later
Excellent day, brings a smile to my face as it reminded me of my fishing holidays when I came over from the UK to fish the keys and Anna Maria Island. Loved those trips. Looking forward to watching the next one. What island you on?
Bro, your shrimp pump is fire. Set a clock to that timing. I wanted to gulp that shrimp 😂 FL Keys is NO GOOD everyone. Stay home or head to California. Hehehe. Im looking to see if you walked alligator alley and fished those spills. OMG peacock and snook in same holes. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Brant, Please daytrip to Dry Tortugas with your 3:40 Beach Bum buds. 70 miles off key west and during tarpon mating season tons of sharks (tiger, hammerhead, etc) you can fish off docs. Old Spanish Fortess. Can day trip it. Epic viewing.Den
Very cool video, I totally enjoyed it. Oddly enough I've been fishing in Florida for 30 years and I have never had anyone from FWC approached me and asked me for my license. I suppose it's just luck of the draw
Do yall use top waters? Seems to be the go-to around here especially in the morning. Having a big mustard mouth flush the toilet on a she-dog will wake ya up fast!
Hey Brant, love your videos! I've always struggled with knot tying, when switching out hooks and such. do you have a recommended easy/quick method of tying hooks? thanks, Lou... up on lake Erie
I’ll be in Destin the week of 7-9-23 doing a little fishing and flounder gigging if you’d like to come aboard for a flounder trip there’s a spot on the boat
good video and at least you didn't get a ticket for not having your phone on you while fishing but you did good on catching good size fish while fishing on shore keep up the work
Having a fishing license on your person is required. You were lucky this game warden decided to let you go. Even a copy is OK. I have had a permanent retired fishing license for fresh and salt waters for the last 11 years and have never had a complaint from a gamie ever! Great content so far, enjoyable and fun!
It's ashame, I'd rather see people fishing than shooting each other and doing drugs. Eh well us "law abiding citizens" always get the shaft and pay for it. F the law.
@DanPianetto I'm sure, it should be a voluntary effort not a forced one by the law. Maybe you shouldn't be taking 20 fish home. Instead if everyone took what they needed we wouldn't need such unconstitutional laws. Stupid people stupid people.

Listen.. You don't need to have it on you, you just need to have a lisense. Ive been stopped and I didn't have my license, it had stayed back on my other tackle box back at the house and I told him that, and he told me it was fine, to just write my name and dob on a notepad he gave me and he went to his cruiser and looked me up and said I was good to fish, to next time just have it with me just to make it easier but that there wasn't a penalty for not having it with me. So dont sweat it...
You should at least always have your phone with you because it has your fishing license in it. And if there’s an emergency, you can contact someone. Love your videos!
