Omg! Tyvm your the only video that explained what I needed to do in order to get more rank to get the level of my company to second lieutenant. I am a new player and you helped me tremendously! Much appreciated!
Very nice guide to what was, for me, a somewhat confusing portion of the game. Really enjoying your content! Two quick items : When doing Expert Delivery (was a great way to earn seals, btw!), be sure to click on the option to hide assigned gear. It defaults to any gear you have - even what you are wearing; so if you aren't careful, you can sell off the gear you have assigned to your jobs! For the running of dungeons with your Squadron, you simply need to level up your squadron by sending them on Squadron Missions (one that they can handle!) and doing the one hour trainings on the Squadron Roster Board (on the wall of your Squad room). Don't need to be in Stormblood to do this - it's just a matter of grinding the squad up in level. This will unlock Command Missions which allow you to hand pick three members of your squadron to run dungeons with you. Great way to level up and gear up your alternate jobs! Last fun note - when a member of your Squad hits level 51, you can glamour their gear. I now have a full squad of Manderville outfitted females (don't judge me!).
And u forgot to mention when u do roulettes u can do em infinitely for seals if you meet adventurer in need requirements. After you finish it for daily reward.
This is where I am currently stuck. I want an apartment but need rank. Did hunting, but need more rank. Doing FATEs, but slow going :) Watching video now. Hoping to learn something good!
It is a decent guide to get players new to squadrons started, there are a few things though that are not accurate though. The squadrons for dungeons are unlocked after you get your squad to 20 and do a flag command mission. Succeeding in this unlocks a new rank and command missions which are arr and hw dungeons with squad members. You can stack up those xp boosts to aid you and your squad if they all fit right. Do this with a food buff, your xp bonus equipment if you have it and free company buffs and you are golden for dps leveling. That is if you know the dungeon very well. The mechanics are key to surviving or you will start dropping fast specially in hw dungeons. You can get tonics to raise fallen allies but if you have a healer most likely they will start ressing with a slow res on your fallen squadmate. There is a 2nd flag mission that will rank you up more and max you at a 90k seal cap. Squad missions also give tons of bonus rewards, be it 15% xp boosts, books to literally swap your squad classes without buying them with seals, engineering and survival manuals, mgp increases ect. I am actually thinking on making a guide to show how to do squadrons and each dungeon since I am almost through all of them and leveling my dps through it.
@@LucidFaith yeah it took me months to learn. Not much is online about it since its older content that was released when stormblood came out. At least for the command missions (dungeons)

Hmm that is puzzling. I would recommend checking in your journal for your completed quests to make sure you have done the "Squadron & Commander" quest. That's the quest that unlocks adventure squadrons. If that is done you should have access to go into that barracks (for whichever Grand Company you are apart of). We can try to work backwards from there.
Okay, so we need to complete that quest but it has a couple of requirements that you will need to meet. Info we need to know: Which Grand Company are you in? What is your current GC rank? What level are you? Have you completed the quest "Rising to the Challenge"'?
Yeah you need to do a few things. You have to complete your Grand Company Hunting log, complete a quest for your GC (Gilding the Bilious (Immortal Flames)) and pay 9k seals. Here is a source: ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Grand_Company_Ranks#The%20Immortal%20Flames
LucidFaith that’s for Second Flame Lieutenant, I’m a Flame Captain trying to reach Second Flame Commander. I’ve been to that site before and it just shows “TBD” next to my next rank, I thought maybe it hasn’t been updated yet?
Holy crap I did not know about how to find what I needed to do to level up! Hopefully it’s not all PvP because Jesus…..totally different from WoW. It looked more like a bg to me but without knowing who is the enemy and where they are it’s like everyone was Kung-Fu fighting.
Good intro to GC...but I'm still not sure why I should care about GCs and seals. I really see very little upside to it - lots of effort for not very much return in fun or character development.
Fates are a terrible source of seals unless you are over 50. 20 or 30 seals for a fate when you need thousands. Guildleves don't kick in until you reach the higher levels of the GC. Guildhests are not that great, giving you only like 200 seals. Better if you are tank/healer and can reliably get the adventurer in need bonus that will boost it up to like 600. Ok guide but missing some important details.
Hey I just started playing again, I played back when level cap was 50! I'm in the lvl 61-62 missions (MSQ ) for stormblood! If you ever want faster que's you should join up with me : ) I play all of the classes, I'll tank or heal for you! I'm on Cactaur, same data center!
This isn't a guide on how to level up quickly, your just rambling on about what grand companies are, at 2:41 you jump from being basic rank to suddenly second serpent without saying anything about how long it will take how many missions to do and which is the fastest way from fate farming to other things, useless guide
I think it is a fun side thing. The beauty of it is that you don't have to worry about it if you don't want to! Honestly I love how many random systems this game has that you can straight up ignore.
