Labor needs to act on Israel's genocide in Gaza - Max Chandler-Mather

  • Today the Greens moved a motion in parliament calling on Labor to sanction the state of Israel and members of their cabinet, and end Australia’s two way arms trade with Israel.
Nothing can justify the genocide being carried out by Israel each day. The widespread bombings and murders of tens of thousands of civilians. The bombing of water and sewerage treatment facilities, which has destroyed Gaza’s water supply. The starving of 2 million Palestinians, which Israel’s Finance Minister said might be “moral”.
As they’ve done in the past, Labor moved to squash the debate with the support of the Liberals.
Every day Israel is carrying out these atrocities, and when they look to countries like Australia for consequences, they receive none.

Words full of passion and heartfelt feelings for the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank. The brutality, slaughter and agony that they are being subjected to, every second, every minute, every hour, every day for the last 320 days!! All this genocide in the guise of self defence?! THANK YOU Mr Max Chandler-Mather for having the moral gumption to speak out and say what all of us should be saying! But simply speaking out eloquently and passionately, as you say in your speech, is not enough! That moment has long since passed! We are now in the 320th day of this continuous onslaught on a defenceless and already very weak and broken people. The World needs to do whatever it takes to stop these atrocities NOW! Otherwise, this most heinous moment in history will be seen as the most barbaric, demonic and satanic episode after the holocaust of the WWII.

I can't see labour troubling any of the returning duel citizens. They appear to just go along with whatever they're told. Unless that state collapses completely, and Western governments scramble to jump on the right side of history. I've grown very cynical over the years though, and suspect we'll send troops to defend US and "Western values" the state supposedly represents, before we'll make any moral stand against crimes against humanity.

Hasn't the ICJ said that israel is committing genercide after South Africa case was heard. This should mean any IDF involvement by groups or individuals should be treated as war crimes/terrorists with just as much enthusiasm as their action againist I S.
Then again the Z's must pay the main parties better, so nothing is going to happen.
