- Former British commander Richard Kemp has accused the BBC of being “horrifically biased” towards Hamas in its coverage of the war in the Middle East.
“There is always undue criticism of Israel and they go easy on Hamas,” Mr Kemp told Sky News Australia.
“There is no doubt in my mind that is a consistent editorial policy and it has been that way with the BBC for a long time, not just with this conflict but certainly since I can ever remember seeing coverage of the Middle East.”

Why is that? Is it based on their staff ideology, that for some reason tend to align (maybe the ideological bias is part of BBC hiring process, or just a common bias for journalists in general), or do they get financing behind the scenes for this bias?

It starts in our schools with teachers who are left-wing themselves. They sometimes promote their biases against our children by omission or context in history lessons.
These kids then go into further education, where they're met with a wave of left-wing Marxist political activists in the lecturing staff and student organisations. They are spoon-fed left-wing ideology and made to feel they're out of place if they have alternative ideas to the standard left-wing narrative.
Conservative values are condemned, and debate is closed down by cancelling or violently protesting those who want to speak. Sitting on the fence is not permitted. You will be shunned if you don't fall in line.
I experienced this myself thirty years ago. It's not new.
Now, it got out of control, however.
These people then go on to work in journalism and civil services and become very active in unions to further their own political agendas. They adopt a tactic from the 'old boy network' and promote each other to the top jobs, including influential newsroom positions.
They are the ones who set the news agenda. It's what they prioritise and omit as much as what they promote.
We see the outcome of this every night on television news channels.

During the interview process, the questions are such that the candidates are asked to reveal what their political affiliations are, and Neutral is as bad as being conservative.

The way that the BBC frames its stories from the Middle East, particularly about Israel, is deeply disturbing to anyone who regards objectivity and truth as important to journalism. I have experience in the advertising industry, so I know how words can be used for particular purposes. Phrases like 'Hamas reports' followed by 'Israel claims' are nudging you towards a certain view, as did the description on the BBC news a few days ago of the October 7 atrocities as 'raids.' I count quite a few left-wing activists among my friends, who don't even notice that this is being done to them. The BBC should be ashamed of itself.

@@mrc391 UN peacekeepers rarely use force or fight anyone. They're part of a peace agreement and mostly observe it. There's no way they would fight Hamas to prevent them from doing anything they want (or any of the other parties). There are UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon who don't do anything to prevent attacks on Israel from Lebanon.

He’s absolutely right, unbiased editorial impartiality died a long time ago. He’s not the only person to notice it. Added to which covering up Huw Edwards etc shows how devious a corporation we’ve been compromised by. We pay their wages.
Any large organisation with a majority of minority employees, needs to consider if its employment policy has compromised re: objectivity.
On this, the heart of the civil service was founded upon moral, ethical principles of impartiality and objectivity, not so long ago, we were informed in news programs how civil servants went on to threaten a mass strike over this topic- what was impartial about that?
The British tax payer funds their wage and often generous pension through public funds for these large employers. Yet we did not appoint any of them through choice; we expect impartiality on this and other topics. Yet seemingly from their actions, neither of these public sector employees have demonstrated by true, unbiased, objectivity/ impartiality, as recognised by many to be a contracted rule of employment. One wonders about that intelligence report David Lammy recently touted as being his source of knowledge. Was it truly unbiased, objective and therefore correct without equivocation?
Nobody is calling out Egypt and right now there are thousands of Hamas forces waiting behind the border of the Philadelphia corridor which huge amounts of weapons and Egyptians have benefited financially with billions of dollars for 20 years smuggling weapons into Gaza

Compare the BBCs coverage of Ukraine compared to their coverage of Israel. The BBC obviously (and rightly) supports Ukraine in a way that they DON't support Israel. Or think back to their coverage of the Falklands war. They picks a side and then roots for it irrespective of the rights and wrongs of the situation. I fail to understand why they are not rooting for Israel in the same way as they root for Ukraine or the UK in the Falklands. I'm starting to wonder what kind of staff are actually working in their news editorial offices now.
They didn't root for Britain in The Falklands Conflict. The BBC announced the British assault on Goose Green before it had actually started, and also broadcast that Argentinian bombs were hitting our ships and not exploding. That caused them to change their tactics, which led to the deaths of 40+ sailors and Welsh guardsmen on the Sir Galahad. The BBC has been anti British for a long time.
News Flash: The BBC has always been somewhat ’confused’ in its editorials. It’s risable that HM armed forces member should decry the fact when the peddling of goverment propaganda was daily occurrence during the conflict in N. Ireland.
