Were your antennas matched? I get some mad static and not much distance when I use the wrong polarization receiver antenna with that micro rig. I need to go back and watch your video on cloverleafs, but I want to say I stuck with RHCP up until I got the Quanum elite micro vtx, which seems to be LHCP. Please chime in and correct me if I'm completely wrong.

you guys should get and do a review or something on david windestal's mini tricopter design. I got one and although all of my flights end in a broken prop, (noob skills all the way) I love it and I want to see what you think about it.

I don't know the name of the quadrotor cameraman, but he deserves some serious respect for flying chase and maintaining decent camera angles simultaneously. I'd love to see an episode showcasing his setup and flight style with tips. Love it.

how do you get a clover leaf antenna without a jack on it? (for soldering into the micro FPV setup that they made awhile ago on the channel.)
This was an epic episode!! ...I about died when the wing collapsed hahahaha :P ...that chase at then where one took the over and the other the under with that branch was amazing!! the banked sweep out the end gap tho Alex! amazing!

Really cool video guys. How do those fpv systems work for people with glasses. I don't wear contacts. Are they easy to refocus for guys with poor vision?

is that the VA2500 can and vtx combo? try the hobby king quanum elite camera and tx, which is a little bit better than the VA2500. and the quanum one have raceband!

Yes you do. For about $400 you can purchase the Nano QX FPV w/ Fatshark headset. That would be the cheapest most easy way to get started. Only a 25mw VTx but it's enough to get your foot in the door. Best money I've ever spent. Now I'm hooked. I just ordered a Vortex 250 pro. Time for an upgrade for me.

If the wing had a puller prop would it have done as well as the plane?
And you could use some filament tape under the wings of all your model kits!

I would love to watch an entire episode about aerial footage of fast moving objects, that Alex make so well. It would be very useful to know some tips and tricks about how to chase an airplane or a moving car with miniquads.

Do you think the static could be coming from those metal poles you're flying behind?
Please do a video where you guys have either a large cargo plane, the helicarrier, or anything else like a large multi rotor,where you load a few mini fpv quads on (like 3-5) and you go on a mission with it. Also videos with apm 2.6 and fpv planes on long missions would be really cool!
I've had exactly the same thing happen with my mini arrow! I crashed it once, dusted it off and everything looked fine, about 10 seconds into the next flight, the wings start flapping and it comes down. I've connected the wings across the body with packing tape to give them some more rigidity, but I haven't battle tested that solution yet.

That scream is a Red-tailed Hawk, otherwise known as the voice artist for every bird of prey in every screen production ever. "Survivor" once dubbed this call over a shot of a Wedge-tailed Eagle in Australia. He just dropped by to provide the voiceover for the Mini Arrow.
what camera did you use in the arrow?
You really needed a helical for the woods, would have helped a great deal :D I almost spat my coffee out when the wing gave itself a high five! Also, great flying at the end there Alex!
True. You really do need a helical when using a short range, low power VTx.

To anyone still watching this in 2020, I have, with my arrow just like that one, basically dive bombed full throttle into the ground and broke the wing IN HALF like 3 times and just glued and taped it back and it still flys great

I see your running the RunCam (orange one) it doesn't have any shielding like the HD version so that could be causing
some interference you might want to swap cameras? You won't do that with a GoPro! :)

I love flite test it's one of my favourite channels, I was just wondering not sure about the other viewers but I would love if the videos were in 4K your videos are always in nice sceneries and you guys always seem to have high end cameras and 4K go pros. Anyone else agree? I'm not sure if many people still have 4k displays but some people have 1440p phones and monitors would be nice with that extra resolution. Just a suggestion.

+fluffy snake photograper They are using GoPros, Mobius Action Cams and I think the orange one was a Runcam2 for all the wing cams. The crew on the ground uses Lumix GH4s.

i really enjoyed that guys. I've a simple idea for you guys... an episode where you attempt to rescue an item attached to helium baloons that is flying away. you rescue it by flying a multi-rotor "through": the top of some of the baloons before it ascends too high into the sky. the baloons pop and the item; (say a stuffed toy or something of no value) is "saved". "hooray". ideally you would want to not hit any strings with the quad or it might crash. (if it is possible to fly a quad through helium baloons at speed and not crash, that would be look cool) just a idea i had. sure you've a a stack of em. keep up the great work.

+Colton TerHaar The easiest and cheapest way is to buy the camera from episode "DIY Mini FPV Race Quad", for goggles Quanum DIY FPV Goggle V2 are nice and cheap (some of my friend like them more then FatSharks), for receiver SkyZone RD40 is very nice and I think Quanum Auto Scan is good as well. Plus a 1000-1500mAh 3s lipo to power the goggles and receiver.
Check RC Model Reviews channel he tested a lot of equipment, have some guides and a lot of technical informations. Maybe start with "Wiring a basic FPV system" video.
