Awesome. The philosopher as piano teacher, the zen master, the apotheosis of cool. I love Kent Hewitt, love his passion and his method of teaching. It works for me. Great introduction to improv.

@@KentHewittpiano88 I live to follow a few Kent, the difference in styles I find interesting and valuable for my learning. And intellectually I love philosophy and I get what you’re saying. All the best, Zuie

I REALLY appreciate the fact that you take the time to help beginners get started - in contrast to "overly flashy" displays that are impossible to follow. Many thanks.

Extraordinary! As for me it would be great to practise that as an example on a song in your book.

If you have my book, please look at the written out improvisation solos on songs and you will see the concepts applied. Thanks!

"Patterns" get dissed by a lot of folks, but IMO they're KEY to building confidence while improvising, and they get you PLAYING something, to get the motor running! If we practice scales and arpeggios, (so that we're not afraid of 'em!), why shouldn't we run some patterns until we get comfortable and less scared of taking improvised solos? Great lesson, KH! 👍🎹🎵 XO - M
