The same way you'd feel if you created songs for 38 Special, Cheap Trick, and Sammy Hager. It's the same guy, Jim Peterik. Not a household name by any means but his songs sure are.
I’m a musician myself. I’ve been playing professionally for over fifty years, Etc I used to open my set with this song 🎶! Funny thing a great song is always a great song 🎶! And this is a great song! Morris
It sounds exactly the same as the album version. His voice is still young and energy. Incredible. This song is before I was even born but it's dam good.
I had a cheap transistor AM radio when I was around 8 or 9 in the late 60's and early 70's. I remember rocking out when this song was playing on the AM radio over and over, it's a smash!!
I discovered the Ides when I was 12 years old, living in Michigan, and stumbled upon WLS. The signal wasn't always that strong, but migosh, I fell in love with this band, and I love them still. Incredible talent. Rock on, Ides!
It would probably be "2000 year-old Man" for me. Jim Peterik's ode to the Mel Brooks & Carl Reiner skit of the same name. There is a lyric video of the song on his RUclips page. While it was a solo song, various Ides of March members reportedly helped make the song. I think Larry Millas sang the low vocals on the song.
This song kicked ass back in 17 AM radio rule the world text me back grammar school short Avenue elementary school in Los Angeles riding my bike to school with my transistor radio take to my handlebars good times
i really miss this style of rock all that brass power along with the that booming voice ,he sings it even better now p.s.i was 6 when it went #1 on the charts
For those who are not familiar with Mr Peterik you know his music he was the force behind Survivor he wrote or co-wrote most of there songs he had success with the first incarnation of the band with Eye of The Tiger but when he had the good fortune to find singer Jimi Jamison the rest is history give him a break he is in his 70's and still having a blast
Wow!
Jim Peterik is his name. Not exactly a household name but yeah he wrote or cowrote some big hits. Not sure what Floyd Pattersons problem was. So Mr Peteril likes to act like the kids today and color his hair all weird, who cares, lol. I saw the band live and recorded this video and they were great!!!
@@waynedemunn1797 I think Nancy Wilson (of Heart) has some pink in her hair, nowadays. Singer, Diamante, actually went around with blue hair for a while. Diamante recently sang an 80s style new song called "1987".
70 some years old guy just tryin to fit in, lol. Hey the guy can still rock and wrote a number of big hits. Many of wish we could have had just one hit.
The late Burt Bacharach was co-writing great songs in his 90s. Listen to the song "Always" that he co-wrote with Richard Marx. Jim Peterik has stated that he wants to keep on writing/co-writing songs as long as possible.
Wow! Wow! Wow!
What if you'd created a song EVERYBODY loves to hear anytime it's played?! What a song! What a band!
Great music

He also cowrote Eye of the Tiger. Jim Peteryk is one heck of a songwriter
@@rticle15 He also co-wrote all of Survivor's other hit singles, except for "Moment of Truth" from the Karate Kid soundtrack.
Jim P and vehicle are iconic!! Rock on!!
52 Years Ago This Summer 🥇
This song never ever never gets old!

The iconic sound of 1970. This song was everywhere in ‘70.
Nice to see them still alive & kicking after almost 50 years...
This year is their 60th anniversary. They have the same four original members.
Awesome band in the 70s and still bad ass in 2021. Great song done by a great band.
What incredible swag by Jim Peterik
A perfect horn section🎺🎷
Still sound great. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome!
oh wow what a powerful voice
They sound AWESOME!!!
This guy's a legend.
Best fucking horn song to come out of that whole Chicago-BS&T horn-song scene in the late 60's. And he's still got that damn voice!
I know this was 3 years ago but WOW!
This song gets you up and dancing at the speed of sound!

I came here after Professor of Rock interview with the lead singer Jim Peterik on the story of this song he wrote.
50yrs & STILL BUMPIN'!!!! 🤙🏽😎

I did too in Michigan !
Jim Peterik was only 20 years in 1970 when this song hit #2 on the billboard charts in record time.
Correct. It also went to #1 on Cashbox and Record World.
That explains him still being alive in 2018 XD
I got to meet Jim a few years ago and saw them perform. He's a genuinely nice, down to earth man..
@@marybull9457 Mary, that's so awesome. I would love to meet someone like Jim who is so talented and now I find out, also nice!
And 19 when it was recorded. Great God in heaven, the voice that came out of that kid!
One if the best songs I have ever heard. Love it! Always puts me in the right mood, anytime, anywhere
Totally agree! I had some kind of greatest hits songs of 1970 on vinyl in the latter 70s and this jam was on it and I was hooked for life!
Jim is the Morton Man !!! Keep rocking buddy !!

Still rockin it.
Great performance!!!
When this hit the air waves, I was in 10th grade. Our local FM station played it a thousand times for months because everybody kept requesting it.

I hope I sound half that good when I'm in my 70s!
He also wrote many hits for 38 Special, like Caught up in You , Hold on Loosely
I heard this in lock up, the sly movie... So did the same dude score that and rocky maybe? 🤔
wowwwww,,,, still sounds powerfull

The Netflix series "Ozark" played this song during a scene
Still got it.
Love it !!!
Good job, Wayne! These guys have appeared a time or two lately on WGN Morning News.
Thank you Jeff, I caught one of those morning shows, like Neil Young said, Rock and Roll will never die!
Bob Bergman graduated from NIU when this song hit. BTW - he is in the band
Playing at a fair before drunks. He is still great.
Before he drunks, lol.
I was ten.. transistor radio..
Gotta love the 10 negatives! Rock On!
Brass rock with eargasm effect.
Six thumbs down, whats wrong with these people???
Muy buena canción
Magnifica cancion de soul blanco,se publico en un single in Spain, estilo Chicago T Autorithy

Oh he’s still very much Rock star and wrote and produced more Grammy award winning hits then you for many artists! What’s your claim to fame?
He was involved with Survivor after this band.
Great band, great song , great performance! Jim said three times it hit #1.On what chart? It peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart.
es todo lo maximo
Far out!!😎
Lead singer reminds me of David Lee Roth...same facial expressions...same confidence.
He co-wrote the song "Heavy Metal" with Sammy Hagar.
Love ya need ya got to have ya
He's still busting ass at a Corn Festival in fucking Dekalb, Illinois?
It was a one time gig about a year and a half ago.
This is a real Barney
I've always loved the song and they still play it great live!
Can we please teach children how to play musical instruments, encourage creativity, write, and read? Please!

Great song not so sure on seeing a grown man with purple hair though. 😲🙀
I think old Jim is just tryin to fit in with all the weirdness of today.
@@waynedemunn1797 Hell, I'm just a couple years younger. Get me some purple dye, I'll baptize myself with it.🤣
Purple much?

Jim Peterik INCREDIBLE songwriter. Great vocalist & mediocre guitarist.
One hit wonders
Carlo sacks player
The sable clarinet subcellularly squash because basket inevitably educate amongst a elastic detail. plain, shocking party
Ok, What, lol?
His voice doesn’t sound nowhere near as soulful as the original recording to me, this guy sounds like what he looks like.
maybe it's time to stop guys. smh 😐
Lol, never. A great song never dies!
Wut! Op is so wrong
No way - they're great
We all age...if we're lucky that is. So...should cut them a break, tip your cap, hope you can do similar in age 70's.

One hit wonders. I always thought this was a Tom Jones tune. He sounds like Tom Jones and the horn section is Tom Jones as well.
