got the album 49 years ago - still is fresh to me today
Iommi played flute, piano and of course guitar.
Edwin Grant Ozzie played harmonica and when screwed up on booze and drugs, occasionally the skin flute. Doesn't remember, doesn't count. ( while dressed like a lady). My cousins step brother knew a guy who said his nephews best friends father-in-law has a five minute 8mm movie with a close friend of Ozzie saying how a guy he met told him he walked in on Ozzie and another guy engaged in fellatio. Ozzie paused long enough to tell him to F-off! Sounds like Ozzie?..
Yes he did
@@yarsivad000.5 wtf
@@moistmeter3634 lmao
In the song sweet leaf, he's the one coughing. It's rumored that it was recorded after he took a bong hit
Geezer’s a lyrical gangster that plays bass too.
Correct, the bass work in this song is beautiful.
This is my favorite Black Sabbath song.
Wow how did I not ever hear this wonderful song I all my 60yrs❗🤘👍 Look at that your bringing old rock to an old rocker❗👊 I like all kinds of music even some hip hop❗Love the way you get deep into the music ❗ And man you got a mad "Stank Face"‼️😖 Keep it up Bro‼️🤘✌️👍
That’s what’s up!!!
The best thing about all Black Sabbath songs is that they took you on a journey.
I clicked on this link SO fast!! Thanks for checking it out. I've surprised so many people who 'think' they know Sabbath when I play this, and ask 'who do you think this is?' Such a beautiful, peaceful, trippy piece.
The album starts with Sweet Leaf, and let me tell you, after a little bit of that, this song is just existential, ethereal!
Tony Iommi does the guitars, flute and piano on this.
Cheers.
Oh yeah, you have a good voice man!
You're right it should be reacted to.
Have enjoyed it since the first time I heard it back in '71. Was 16..Still have most of their music on LP
Wow, one of my favorite Black Sabbath songs and like you said, no one ever reacts to it. Thankyou!!!!!!
A delay effect was added to Ozzy Osbourne’s vocals on this song to provide the effect of a second vocal track. This song features the multi-instrumentalist talents of Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi (who also plays flute & piano on the recording). This song is about being depressed after breaking up with somebody.
I see you know Black Sabbath well! And that is based on that fact I like the same songs haha Awesome man Subscribed!
I specifically serched for Solitary reaction and you are the only one that has it. My all time fav song to listen to off weed. Its a perfect break song maybe the best ever. You are underated. Most people just react to the same songs, Good job man.
AS ALWAYS JAY, great reaction! That's why we love your videos from down in South America.😆
Glad you found this tune and appreciate it. I've listened to it for decades and it still sounds fresh and mysterious, another realm.
Do not forget about their ballad "She's Gone" :)
Hey dude you got a really nice voice, I'm surprised no one mentioned it, I'd love to hear you pick up an acoustic and sing a song, hell I'd love to jam with you, song along
Best reactor on you tube even with songs I love that he doesn’t I care about his opinion Lost in Vegas has a real contender
G minor /F Major
Lost a girlfriend in high school in ‘92 this song still at 47 takes me back hard
Nice reaction brother
It has a very Mood Blues vibe to it.
I can honestly say that I have never heard this song before! So, thank you! Definitely a surprise! Great reaction! War Pigs live or Warning
Wooooow. I was just looking for the song and came across your video what an amazing experience I had watching this I look forward to seeing more of your videos. But yea this song KILLS ME - chills every time. This music + Ozzy's voice = pure genius.
I listen to black sabbath while working out, then this on the walk home
I used to have this song on my cd alarm clock I woke up to this song for years till the clock broke. Its a nice sound to wake up to
Bro you've got a great voice yuorself. Wish I could just sing like that.
Excellent song by Black Sabbath. It's really reminds of my dad's Moody Blues, even my dad said I thought I was listening to Moody Blues when he came in today. My dad got me into Sabbath because his old mate recorded Paranoid on a old tape back in the 70s.
Still can't believe this is Ozzy singing.
Terrific instruments to it..
I have seen a live cover by metal band Opeth who sung this song great.
“Changes” is a beautiful song by Black Sabbath
Confession: I’ve never heard this Sabbath song before even though I am a big fan of the band. I just didn’t have this album and so didn’t hear the deep cuts. I agree, very powerful! I love how minimal it is. And I really couldn’t even tell that that was Ozzy but it’s an excellent performance by the whole band. Thanks for introducing me to this song, Jay. I liked your insights on the lyrics. Glad Ozzy found Sharon!
Fantastic. Dare I say I wish they did more songs like this.
Planet Carivan is probably the only other I can think of.
@@kane0ner and zeitgeist, also a good song
Great breakdown, you helped me understand what he meant by wilderness.
Great choice. Listening to songs that are off the beaten path. She’s Gone and Planet Caravan are other excellent, beautiful, mellow tunes they did with far away, somber vibes. Give them a listen.
Someone tried to tell me this was Ozzy singing but it cannot be..I thought it was Geezer Butler, the bass player..but I could be wrong. “Crying’ and picking is all that I do”..thank you so much for reviewing this man, I’ve been waiting for this!!
@@chrisd913 Ozzy sings on both Solitude and Planet Caravan. Check out the deluxe edition you can hear Ozzy laughing before and after the track.
@@nicholaspesce1806 no it’s not. It’s ozzy. Toni confirmed it on his book. The whole band has pretty much confirmed this.
It’s ozzy. It’s crazy how underrated ozzys vocals have become.
@@chrisd913 no it is Ozzy, you can clearly hear it. If u dont believe me listen to the demo version/outtake where you can hear them creating it
I think it is easy to hear who is singing, whats the problem? Just listen...
Depression described as prison. It can truly feel like that too. Geezer can really write!
Dude, I think this is Bill Ward singing. The drummer. It's all good.
Mine too
Pass it on.
Yo Jay! You reacted their ' Robin Hood 'era song...that was so cool man! Love your reactions buddy! 🤘😎
Oh nice. Someone actually reacted to this. This would be cool with a beat over it.
also one of my favorite songs by them. you should listen to Zeitgeist by them if you liked Planet caravan and this song
Yes his voice makes the lyrics look beautiful
Digs out those emotions that you weren't aware that you needed to feel. Master of reality is a great album!
Cool medievai music.
Thanks to me you know about this song
The bass in the breakdown of the Metallica song Orion always reminded me of the bass in this song
I am not sure about who was the main writer of the lyrics because they all got mostly the same all band name credits----- Laguna Sunrise / Shes Gone / Spiral Architect / Air Dance / It-s Allright Bill Ward drummer on vocals and writer ...Those are the easy songs they have of the Ozzy Era
Thank you for your reaction to this you should go listen to all of black sabbath instrumental songs they will blow you away
🦋🤘🦋
If you enjoy this song...I'm telling you, check the song Air Dance
Try there song The Warning its there best song i think
New every song before I was 8 thanks to older brothers
I only listened to this song (again) because you love it. You hadn't even broken down the lyrics at first! I still don't get it, though. You like Black Sabbath, but this is not a "Black Sabbath song." The only BS song i like less is Changes. No disrespect😁. What am I missing? There weren't even up-front drums, as you like. Listeners? Please tell me (seriously). I love you, Jay Rah😘! Oh, Hand of Doom is my favorite...how is Solitude better (I was gonna say "hold a jock," but idk if they say that anymore)😏. Please keep listening to BS...oh, no comparisons to other groups😏.
You would like can't kill rock n roll by ozzy
Solitude is a contender for my favourite song of all time
But Jay Rah man, this cover by Vitamin String Quartet is at least as good as the original:

Makes me wanna burn one and walk through the woods
Change the point of view and you have a revenge spell.
Hard to do a reaction when you’ve already heard it
Why can’t it be an I’ve never heard it on a Wednesday reaction?
@@thetextpistols7354 , What ?!
@@brianfronius4166 exactly. A first reaction is only one form of reaction. Not the only reaction.
@@thetextpistols7354 , when someone has already heard a song, kind of tough to do a reaction don’t you think
@@brianfronius4166 it depends. I react to songs I’ve heard before from time to time. For instance, maybe I hear a particular song that I haven’t heard since high school. That gets a reaction out of me. Does that make sense?
I’m 25 and grew up all about Sabbath and would show guys in my college football locker room and they wouldn’t stop blaring it (war pigs) on the locker room before games
