Yeah I got the 600d in early 2012. I started doing professional work like 10 months ago and made 10k with cheap shitty rates with my 600d and a7s2 (hired). I only recently started charging $500 a day as I have a portfolio now. What I've realised is if you have a bigger camera you get more jobs, mainly the reason I want the red so much. I could advertise I shoot with red and you get jobs, doesn't matter that much how good/bad you are. If you can get an ok shot and expose correctly you're allg and you'll keep getting jobs thanks to your camera. But yeah I invested quite alot into audio and lighting already so I guess it's time to move up.
Suddenly everyone needs to shoot in total darkness and iso 4000, what did every one do before the a7sii? Lol it's a cinema camera, so light and plan your scenes like cinema and stick with the native 800.
Are you comparing the crop factor to Still 35mm images? If so, surely that's a misleading comparison since the Raven's sensor is marginally smaller than super 35 film. So using the camera with cine lenses will work fine- a problem will only arise when working with photography lenses. Correct me if I'm wrong, just wanted to clarify. much love

Please don't recommend the Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 lens, it is not very sharp. It may look OK on 5D or GH4/5, but it diminishes the clarity of the Dragon sensor. Sigma and Canon (and Nikon) make some great ultra wide angle lenses.
All you need to do is buy the DJI extender tubes for $20. Once you get those you can easily balance on Ronin M and also power the RED from the DJI battery with the battery distributor they sell.

Meh, I don't see the Raven's slow motion to be that special. After all the Sony FS700 has for years and years been able to do 240fps continuous 2K raw, and it can now do it for a tiny tiny fraction of the cost of a Raven!
I don't want to be an ass, but why is this camera getting so much attention? Why would you sell your kidneys, liver and some other parts when you have Sony, Panasonic, Blackmagic?..

Any person using a $16k red camera with just an on camera shotgun mic and the internal preamp needs to rethink some things
oh.....only iso 4000, how will you cope (me sitting here with my 600d, which starts to looks grainy past 400, and I would never take above 1600)
haha but the a7s2 can go to like 40,000 without too much grain on 4k and be usable. I have the 600d as well

Wish they made it with a MFT mount with that crop atleast been able to add a speedbooster to regain some more FOV.
