VERY COOL! Never seen these pictures .Michelle in Stripes! This is officially my favorite video for this song . Okay second favorite, you cant beat Cass dancing in go-go boots.
Where did this amazing version come from? It's more guitar heavy than the album version. Is it authentic, or did someone else modify it? The video features some rare concert photos that I've never seen before. Their Monterey Pop appearance is the only instance of them being recorded or filmed in live performance. Unfortunately, they were unrehearsed, not with their usual band, and with Michelle's faulty mike. They admit this was their worst performance, and atypical of their typically vocal tight performances. So any unpublished/amateur photos of them at one of their live shows are priceless. There is very little documentation regarding their 30 or so stage performances - not even a taped bootleg. I would love to hear their stage banter, know their set lists and listen to how they sounded at their peak, purely live, raw, with their original touring band.
+Zenbone65 Hi, unfortunatly I have no idea about this version. I found it on a web album posted in a web radio. You can find similar alternate versions to Mama Cass Elliot & The Big Three album on itunes. Some of the photos are from their 1966 benefit concert at the Hollywood Bowl, Donovan also played in this event . Other takes were from their concert at Carnagie Hall, others not so precise about the date from their concert held in October 21st,1967 at the Hollywood Bowl, concert oppened by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Couldnt find any infos about the other live perfomances photos.I would appreciate if anyone can help about that.Thanks.
This is before Monterey. What killed Monterey was Cass. Not front stage dancing and singing instead sitting down at som points. Think she may have been pregnant.
God Michelle Phillips is so graceful & beautiful... That face alone embodies and represents the innocence and spirit of this generation.
Alex Her fresh, angelic face and aura (like the essence of the other three) emanated the wistfulness of that late 60s era.
an AMAZING rock group....LOVE The Mamas & The Papas!

Great version and video. I can't get enough of the Mamas & the Papas.
🎯😍 . Great montage! 👏. Cass is beautiful.
this is incredible ! if it's really from the original 1966 tracks, it's fantastic to hear. And the video montage is first rate too. Thank you so much.
I have missed Cass Elliot, seemingly forever.
Northern Bohemian Realist So have I I can't believe that 44 years has passed

I hope these alternate versions get released to the public, would love to own them
Me gustó mucho más esta versión que la original. Tiene más sangre, más rock, más alma.
Eterno som eterna Mama Cass. Versão puro rock and roll, lindo demais.
I love this version! Wow! SING IT CASS! 🎤
Like the original bass part being on top, with the organ but love this too.
Bass sounds great!
