I just love how he was so excited about his water type pokemon, but then started to realise it looked too much like Kyogre.

They also both thought of Orca pseudo legendaries that have very similar sounding names of orcane and warcane
I know it doesn't help now, but that color fill problem came from the opacity of your lines. You could have held down the pen, then slid it left or right to change the percentage of fill and make it so it was being less fussy with you

It’s also the name of a playable character in a platform fighting game called “Rivals Of Aether” (on PC or Nintendo Switch).

“Orcane” is actually the name of a character from the platform fighter “rivals of aether” and it looks quite similar. Btw if anyone wants a good platform fighter it’s like 15 bucks on steam and well worth the price. And while the base game only has 12 characters, the game is modabble so there is actually like 5k characters, one of them being Ronald mc frickin Donald.

I think the base cast of characters is great even without the workshop, but if you want the full experience you should get the pc version

Ronald McDonald is propably the most iconic rivals custom character, next to melee fox

is it just me or do i think that the different colours for Dartoad should have different type variations (red = fire/poison, yellow = electric/poison and blue = water/poison or even ice/poison and maybe even a green variant for grass/poison) also I reckon if Jalamodo/Komono had a shiny form, it should be green like a jalapeno

I love how excited Mikey is for all his fakemon. His enthusiasm is infectious.
With the copper golem pokemon, I feel like the more it's used in battle, the more it oxidizes. Then once you heal it, the oxidization dissapears
Just a little tip from a digital artist here, you can use layers in procreate where you can have the line art on the very top layer, and the color and shading on the layer below. And watching the thickness of your lines will help the fill tool problem. Thankyou for your time.
So Orcaane is actually a fighter in the game Rivals of Aether and your drawing looks eerily similar. Ocrane in RoA isn't bipedal though. Thought it was a funny coincidence

To answer the question "what makes a pokemon a pokemon and not just an animal?": think of the electric turtle you made! Many pokemon have types that contrast their habitat or behavior of their irl counterpart! (Or atleast doesnt usually go with what the animal is abt yk)
... not entirely true, some sure, but I wouldn't say many, and if they do contrast like say Charmander, you'd think a salamander would be water but it's fire, it's because it draws from myths. It has a grain or multiple of inspiration from other sources. Like Bulbasaur is a frog, but it's grass with that smelly plant on its back. Like there are 3 lions, Entei, Pyroar, and Solgaleo, 2 of them are fire not because African Lion's live in hot places, but because lion's are commonly associated with the sun center of the universe, royalty, even in astrology the "planet" for Leo is the sun. Meanwhile Solgaleo isn't fire because it represents the lion from alchemy that eats the sun... so why is it steel which is weak to fire? Because it's based off alchemical lion that symbolizes purification of metals, psychic because psychic type is the equivalence to the light type in Pokemon. You could think the same of Suicune, for example, it's the north wind Pokemon, but it's not flying type, because it purifies water, and symbolizes one of the 3 elements that killed the beast trio... ok the water didn't kill them but you get what I mean, lightning struck the tower (Raikou), they died in the fire and the tower burned from that (Entei), and the rain put it out.
Almost every Pokemon has some inspiration... ahem SEEL AND DEWGONG, but if it is something simple like them then it is with a type associated with said animal, and a lot of Pokemon are just that simple, Shellder is just a clam, psyduck a fightless duck so just water, etc... I didn't even get into inanimate objects or humanoid Pokemon like Gardevoir or Machamp that aren't based on any animals, Haterene is a witch/princess, VANILITE IS A LIVING FREAKING ICE CREAM CONE. Then you got the amorphous egg group, and while some like slugma are sure animals... majority of this egg group is just ghost or goop, the only non ghost types in this group are Pokemon like Froslass that don't start out as Ghost and the main line dictates the egg group, being fairy and mineral due to Snorunt and Glalie. Also why Gardevoir wasn't in the humanoid group until gen 8 despite Gallade being even more human looking.
Hopefully I don't sound rude, just having fun and trying to be informative, to educate, because Pokemon aren't as simple to understand, even when you think you understand them, a lot goes into even the simplest of Pokemon... (squints at Seel out of the corner of the eyes)... most of the time lol.

No that's fine, I'm sorry if I replied a little salty, I actually wasn't sure if you were being funny or sarcastic, hard to tell with text, and so many other times I've had people hate on me for typing a lot, so I was trying to have a little fun in case you were being sarcastic, but also trying to word it in a way if you weren't being sarcastic that was thanking you. So I'm sorry I came off as salty, and legitimately thank you for reading it, it was funny if seen from the context of humor, but again 2 ways it could've been seen. It does make me very happy that you actually did read it.
As an artist, seeing you discover things with your art and the program you are using is entertaining.
And I would say you are leveling your art skill up doing this as I can see you improve.
Also, the fill-in of broken lines is a common problem we all have to deal with.
I can't say what was wrong with the last one as I tend to use a different program, but it could be pen pressure on one side of the line was too soft.
I'm sure you'll get some good fanart for those, though, maybe even some in the pokemon art style (it's a hard style to replicate, my lines are scrappy chonckers, it works for my art style but not pokemons )

For the dart frog pokemon you could have it so each colour has a different status effect eg the yellow paralyses the blue puts to sleep and red burns instead of poisons when using poison type attacks.

Watching this video for the first time, and am realizing that Pokémon saw this video. They had to. Scovillain, hero palafin, chien-pao, ting-Lu, and gholdengo are all in this video. It is too close and crazy for this to be a coincidence, so I think it is safe to say: congrats Mikey! You have officially been an inspiration for some Pokémon!

If I feel like doing some art, I might try my hand at redesigning a few of these. For the moose, you could have had the antlers come down in front of its face to be the mandibles and give it an intense mohawk on its head.
A tip for people who want to draw but aren't very talented at it: Use reference pictures and do not be afraid to trace. I learn to draw in the pokemon art style by tracing pokemon designs until I could reproduce them without tracing.

There are so many youtubers who try to do cool sponsorship plugs, but grunty boy is the only one that has gotten me to laugh almost every time, it’s genius and I love it.
I'm pretty convinced Smoliv will evolve into the Fire/Grass type we've all been wanting, his info on the official site says "it prefers dry and sunny climates, and it seems to spend its days sunbathing." Granted, most plants like sunlight, but that just seems too specific so I think it's alluding to something 👀

@@remasailesh4349 Fuecoco could be Fire/Grass, Quaxley could be Water/Flying, Spiratito could be Grass/Rock.
Each starter is therefore strong against both other starters; similar to the Alolan trio
Prophesee; by far my favorite of the Fakemon. Though personally I feel it doesn't need a mouth. You can see it's expression through it's eyes and I just find that more cute. Other than that being my only gripe, I desperately want one now

I like the idea of an orca pokemon, and personally I think if they ever do make one they have to make it Water Dark cause they are very cruel.
Considering they have done anime references made into Pokemon (Incineroar and arguably Infernape for example), I could see a water/fighting orca mon based on Gang Orca from MHA. Though I guess like with Tiger Mask to Incineroar, this would probably go from just a man with the face of an Orca, to a bipedal, anthro orca which is the opposite.
Orcas aren't really that cruel, they get most of their bad rap from the nickname 'killer whale', which is horribly misinformative.

You could totally make the horned lizard look tribal, like those markings definitely remind me of like warrior paint Native Americans, Vikings, or Celtic soldiers have/had. Like not only is it a horned toad but mix in some sort of other inspirations... You know what I might do that, I doubt my fan mon will ever get made into a game, but I'll make sure to reference you for inspiring it if I have a fanmon like this. It would still be appropriate for children, just calling it warrior paint, and for those more mature they get the blood from the eyes reference of the adult lizard and other aspects.
15:53... Suicune... it's a leopard, with white spots, blue color... totally a snow leopard. Despite fans calling them the dog trio, they're called the beast trio, and draw more inspiration from big cats, Suicune is a Leopard, Entei a lion, and Raikou a tiger. Obviously they do draw inspiration from other animals, like Entei is specifically the fou dogs or lion dogs of chinese myth, but that's their base inspirations. That's why they're beasts, they're like chimeras mixing in a bunch of animals not just 1 or 2 (hybrids are 2 animals, chimeras 3+).

Watching you do this makes me feel so much better about my artistic abilities. We are on par and when I see people who are actually talented I always think "I wish I was that good". I love making pokemon but hate that I can't draw
I think not being able to draw is actually a pretty good reason to start drawing fakemon. I used to be terrible at drawing, but when I started drawing fakemon I became semi-decent after a while. I went from barely being able to draw to making something I could be proud of, and that's a great feeling. So if it's something you genuinely enjoy doing, keep at it!

I like how over time, Micheal,(or Michael I dunno) and Grunty Boy have slowly became closer friends and have a better relationship.
It's kind of funny that a lot of these turned out in similar ways to what Lockstin did with his region. His pseudo legendary is a water/dragon orca sort of Pokémon, he wanted a grass/fire type too and made it an emu styled bird, he did a possum as a Shakespearean ghost/normal type, and he did a horned toad but as a poison/steel type with rust and mercury as the theme. As far as a big snowy cat goes, he did a regional variant of Luxray that's an ice type, as well as one based on a sabretooth. I don't know if you've seen any of that beyond his Castform video, but its interesting to see similar ideas for some of these.
However, Mikey's orca Pokemon is literally 1 letter off of Worcane, Lockstin's pseudo
Baturty is by far my favorite so far, because of the fun design and also because it is VERY fun to say

I made a oppossum fakemon once. It was an oppossum that was a zombie. Its bottom half was a ghost tail and it was ghost/dark named Mussoppo.

These are some really cool ideas! And they're also pretty well-drawn. I especially like the designs for Jalamodo, Prophesee, Baturty, and Falscourge.
Personally, I would've made the Ghost-type the moose and given it horns that can come and go, which would allow it to not have to deal with the giant weight on its head all the time.
Otossum and Hornorb are going to give me nightmares but other than that I think the rest of the design ideas are pretty interesting. I additionally enjoy the fact that Dartoad has similar features to Flebebe, being able to find any color you want is quite cool in my opinion...
Also can we all agree that it took Mikey like most of his time trying to come up with those names. XD
One last thing, I feel like you should have made Orcane a Psychic type because of the fact that Orcane sounds like arcane, which is similar to magic.
