  • Join me on a very windy day in West London as I head into work and then straight back out again due to being winded off and being told we could leave site
In this one I show you the things I get up to on very windy days when it’s too windy to operate at Tower Crane on a building site here in the UK
As it was too windy to do anything I started off my morning in the on-site canteen getting a latte and some toast, I then introduce you to some of the people I work with and then head outside to capture some footage
After that I jumped on a train from Kew Bridge and head into Vauxhall in central London for a bit of crane spotting, yes you heard that right lol ! Windy days like this are rare and should be treated as a safety hazard
Footage was filmed in HD 1080p 50fps using a GoPro Hero 9 Black with a Max Lens Mod attached and using official GoPro accessories
End title music was provided by Nick Hutson Music

A friend of mine lived in Bellevue WA. He had just moved into Seattle had been living there a month. He sent me a photo of a 210 foot crane crashed into his old building. He lived on the 4th floor. The guy who lived above him was killed. Ya, you do have to be careful with cranes. My hats off to ya Andy. Do a good job and Be Safe!

    Hello Andy
You definitely have the head for heights
Do you use a safety harness andy when you climbing up the crane
As you make it look so easy
I had a battery operated crane when I was a kid with a car transporter loved using the crane hours on end playing with the tower crane and car transporter
Bringing back many memories for me Andy seeing you operating your crane
They should pay you danger money Andy for operating the crane
    Thanks Andy for your video

Hello, I'm a newbie tower crane operator and quite clueless really. I feel that I've never had any really good or meaningful instruction, but managed to pass all the tests and get certified. If you would be so kind Sir, could you please explain to me everything that I need to know about lightening and tower cranes. The other day I got scolded for shutting the crane down and climbing down because there was a thunderstorm in the weather forecast. I was told that over the eighty year history of the company I was the first operator to ever go home due to lightening, or the possibility thereof. I would really appreciate your advice and wisdom. Thank You.

If lighting strikes your crane and you are in the cabin ,the current goes right though you to ground and you won't be harmed. However if someone is grounded, and touching the crane or its load ,a lighting strike will fry them on the spot
