- Join me on a very windy day in West London as I head into work and then straight back out again due to being winded off and being told we could leave site
In this one I show you the things I get up to on very windy days when it’s too windy to operate at Tower Crane on a building site here in the UK
As it was too windy to do anything I started off my morning in the on-site canteen getting a latte and some toast, I then introduce you to some of the people I work with and then head outside to capture some footage
After that I jumped on a train from Kew Bridge and head into Vauxhall in central London for a bit of crane spotting, yes you heard that right lol ! Windy days like this are rare and should be treated as a safety hazard
Footage was filmed in HD 1080p 50fps using a GoPro Hero 9 Black with a Max Lens Mod attached and using official GoPro accessories
End title music was provided by Nick Hutson Music

Really good Andy despite the wind and I'm sure you may have saw the news today that TV Presenter Paul O'Grady has died as I had the the news this morning
Yes I heard this morning and very sad news
@@cranecrazy indeed and of course I've sent my condolences and thoughts to his family, friends and animals at this really sad time
don,t tell me the operator has to climb up that 100mtr crane ..he,ll be absolutely knackered or an athlete ..good video mate as usual ..
A friend of mine lived in Bellevue WA. He had just moved into Seattle had been living there a month. He sent me a photo of a 210 foot crane crashed into his old building. He lived on the 4th floor. The guy who lived above him was killed. Ya, you do have to be careful with cranes. My hats off to ya Andy. Do a good job and Be Safe!
Omg that’s awful to here, it can be very dangerous sometimes
Interesting video as usual.
Always wondered what happens to cranes in windy weather, now I know. 😁👍
Great video Andy, I’m loving your Crane Crazy RUclips channel so far

I have three breaks in my day at work, one in the morning 10 minuets, one at lunch 30 minuets and one in the afternoon about 20 minuets, In the canteen for lunch and in the staff room for the other breaks.
Cool
I've never known so much about cranes matey. Like being back at school x
Haha you learn something new every day lol
amazing vlog andy my favourate part was the canteen getting a nice hot latte and toast and marmilade
Glad you enjoyed it
Hello Andy
You definitely have the head for heights
Do you use a safety harness andy when you climbing up the crane
As you make it look so easy
I had a battery operated crane when I was a kid with a car transporter loved using the crane hours on end playing with the tower crane and car transporter
Bringing back many memories for me Andy seeing you operating your crane
They should pay you danger money Andy for operating the crane
Thanks Andy for your video
No harness
So would you still be paid if you wont work in the wind? How does that all work?
Hello, I'm a newbie tower crane operator and quite clueless really. I feel that I've never had any really good or meaningful instruction, but managed to pass all the tests and get certified. If you would be so kind Sir, could you please explain to me everything that I need to know about lightening and tower cranes. The other day I got scolded for shutting the crane down and climbing down because there was a thunderstorm in the weather forecast. I was told that over the eighty year history of the company I was the first operator to ever go home due to lightening, or the possibility thereof. I would really appreciate your advice and wisdom. Thank You.
If lighting strikes your crane and you are in the cabin ,the current goes right though you to ground and you won't be harmed. However if someone is grounded, and touching the crane or its load ,a lighting strike will fry them on the spot
london trains are good
Definitely would like to see a vlog from inside kew bridge steam museum on your other channel haven't been in thier in years
Noted!
Is it good wages tower crane driving in the UK 🇬🇧 🤔
It’s ok 👌🏻
How does the continuity work between jobs???? for example when a job is finished how long till the next?? Can you end up miles away from home??
Yes we never know where we are going to work and yes I have worked all over the UK, I actually moved down south for work
Hi Andy. Great video. Can I ask if Vinnies crane is doing the tallest structure on site and is going to climb, why has yours been set up higher than his??
Hi mate ! Vinnie’s crane is getting jacked up this Friday
Cool vlog i find this stuff very interesting, have you ever got vertigo going up a high crane?
Not yet lol

Send them to my email jediandy1979@gmail.com
Mean lookin toast for sure... New channel incoming... Canteen Crazy ☕👍
Oh yeah!
That guy isn’t famous probably someone looking for him😂. Friday will be windy.Nice one buddy
Haha
Do you get paid for a full day even if you're winded off?
I sure do
Who makes the final decision if the crane operates or not? You or your employer?
Wonder why that guy didn’t want to be filmed
Said he was shy lol 😂
I assume you don't climb down for lunch. U take all with you?
Yes take food and drinks up with me
You Brits have the tallest crane in the World don't you, Big Carl? I believe it's 550'.
Nah we only have really tall cranes in our major cities like London and Manchester !! Most of the worlds tallest cranes are in Dubai
@@cranecrazy aren't you building a new power station? Well not you but England.
