  • This is not a tutorial video, but rather a record of how I change the wheel and wheel nuts on my Land Rover Discovery 3, 2.7ltr, TDI. Anyone undertaking this job should follow the instructions in the owner's handbook for their vehicle. I decided to change the wheel nuts because the factory fitted ones on my car have thin cap coverings which can cause problems. I swapped these for solid, stainless steel, specially made wheel nuts.

Where did you get the solid steel lug nuts?

I purchased those steel wheel nuts from a firm called Wrington Engineering. They were very helpful. Can be found with a web search.

Any links to the stainless wheel nuts and how much did you torque them to?

I cannot remember off hand what I torqued them to, other than it was correct for my model. Best thing to do is an online search for correct torque settings for your model.

Thanks - those caps on the factory fit nuts had me a bit confused as the cap that looks so similar (dimple centre) on the locking nut has to be removed of course! I think I have 27mm on the rear spare, 22mm on the locking nut socket and 23mm on the wheels!! Thanks for the video - I have a Disco as well but you might enjoy a bit of UK scenery from my very rare Series 1. ruclips.net/video/Dy5Sbr5YOG0/видео.html

Yes, they are expensive. I replaced mine over several months.
