I just picked up this game yesterday and when this song dropped during the tutorial I was bumping for at least 3 minutes. I can already tell this game is going to be a treat.
They turned one of the greatest songs ever written into a badass battle theme, it’s perfect!
Bayonetta is so fucking refreshing to see. Not only is she a complete badass and sexy, she KNOWS she's badass and sexy and isn't shy of flaunting it. I mean, I'm kinda tired of the Lara Croft, Ellie from Last of Us, and Elizabeth from Bioshock take on women. Bayonetta is confident, sexy, and damned if she doesn't do some work.

I can't speak for Ellie, but I guess there's something like how "Drama" or "Genuine Serious Characterization" has to start with getting kidnapped and getting the crap beat out of them beforehand so they can be all tough action heroines, or something. Simple. I like how Bayonetta is confident in herself and goes after what she wants without stopping. You don't see that kind of take on female characters practically at all in gaming. There's usually hour upon hour of the character going through some kind of angst before making up their mind.
Dunno if you guys noticed that Moon themed song choice was to reflect the Umbra Clan and the lyrics of the song is the storyline disguised. For instance, "Fly Me To The Moon" is describing Bayonetta's amnesia. Having no memories means being empty as a person. The song is about filling your heart with love. The love is found in the petzone she put Luka in, the tender motherly love and Jeanne as a friend. And this one "Moon River" describes an unattainable place where everything is possible hence Chaos. The lyrics "Moon River and me" refer Loki and Bayonetta respectively. Well makes sense to me.
Late comment but these were originally songs from the 60s/70s. They were just used in the game. You're just looking too far into it.

@@JetixML But Fly Me To The Moon has no mention of emptiness or memory loss. As for love, it really doesn't fit. It plays long before Luka and Jeanne are in the game. And I doubt that "Moon River" is a euphemism for Loki. Personally, I think they just wanted a moon motif because it would make for nice music and it would be consistent.

Every sound designer will tell you that is what your supposed to do. The best song should be used for the best and most suitable scenes, as it keeps it fresh, and makes those scenes more awesome then they otherwise would be.

Not sonic mania,mario oddesy or breath of the wild numbers but insanely well.
The only gripe imo with the switch ports of bayonetta 1+2 is how lazy Nintendo treated the physical release for U.S/U.K.
Japan got the best physical edition release, sucks Nintendo of America & Europe didn’t see that way for whatever reason at that time couldn’t even include both games in one cartridge.
The WiiU release if I’m not mistaken had both discs, never owned the WiiU release anyways.
Re-selling the physical copies is kinda useless if it doesn’t have bayo 1 since the code is used, these code in a box physical releases are a load of B.S.

My first time ever seeing or hearing about Bayonetta was Smash Ultimate I was playing that with a friend who mained her so I asked him "Who is that character what is she from" my friend said to me "Shes a tall sexy Librarian" so for YEARS I thought her series took place in a library and was confused as to why she had guns or could send limbs through portals and freeze time until about 3 days ago when I saw a review for Bayonetta 2 that had this song in it
