I am doing AAS 1-3 with my 6th grader who struggles with spelling and then my plan is to start her with Phonetic Zoo A next year! My 8th grader is doing Phonetic Zoo C this year to solidify spelling skills. I am loving it for her. That is super encouraging that this has been a good fit for your child!
We are doing this exact same thing! My sixth grader is halfway through all about spelling level 3 and we started with level one a couple years ago and my plan is also to transition him to phonetic zoo spelling once we have finished level 3 of AAS.
Thanks for this video. We are considering the Phonetic Zoo without the audio tracks. Does the teacher's guide include prompts to help the parent administer tests and answer tracks?
I have a child in a similar situation as you, of approximately same age, what writing component of language arts are you using for him that you have found that works?
We are currently using AAS level 2 with my 7th grader that really struggles with spelling. I have been interested in trying this too. Thanks for the video!
I really really like your content. So when you say you 100% stand behind this curriculum, I take it seriously. There aren't alot of HS moms who seem to match my teaching style. But even as a stranger, you seem to. My actual friend really encouraged me to look into IEW so here I am. My one drawback.... Isn't classical education controversial in the christian community? What are your thoughts on that?
@@hg8247 I have the CD's. All you have to do is read the rule at the beginning, which is in the TM and one the cards. Then after every five words you reread the rule. If you speak clearly and with no accent, you should be fine.
It takes my son around 15mins and I am minimally involved. I spend around a minute going over the spelling rule and then he listens to the prompts on the mp3
This spelling curriculum was a game changer for my challenged speller. We LOVE it!! ❤
Yes! I have been so incredibly pleased!

IEW intimidates me for some reason but this made it seem more approachable.

I was wondering about how this would compare to AAS. I’m using that right now but wondering if this is better for auditory learners

Going to start this with my kids soon! Curious how it’s gone with your other kids! If you’ve transitioned them yet!
Just started this w/ my fifth grader (struggling speller). But I do it with him instead of the MP3’s to make it more affordable.
Are you having good results without the mp3? I am interested but my kid doesn't like to listen to anything audio.

Did you buy all three levels? Also are any other kids doing it or just your dyslexic kid?
Do you feel like he retained it?
Do you prefer this over the Spelling Power book?
How long does this take each day? Is it daily? How teacher intensive is it??

How much time do you spend on this daily?
Are you still using this? My son has dyslexia and we purchased All About Spelling but after researching I'm thinking this is a better option.
Is this all in one lesson?
Is this still working?
Can you share how you discovered your son has dyslexia?
Hopefully this video helps! It’s our story and experience. ruclips.net/video/3tUUPJ1DGPE/видео.htmlsi=izKoioCeNEUSHUri
What age do you think this would be a good age to start?
4th
How old is your son that is using it?
