  • Filmed in Jamaica, Roaring Lion charts the growth and development of the Rastafarian Movement and its founder, the former Garveyite Leonard Howell. With interviews from the renowned academic and Rasta scholar Professor Barry Chevannes and several of the movements leading figures, Mortimmo Plano, Fimore Alvaranga, Dago and Gertrude Campbell, the documentary charts the Movements growth from a persecuted commune in the foothills of Pinnacle, Jamaica, to an internationally recognized religion.

we can go at this daily but I'm on vacation from my great job until April, I'm sure you have all the time in this world to rant and rave on RUclips but grown ups see the value of hard, honest work and do so. I see you've thrown 4 more boomerangs. Maybe watching Eddie Murphy in "1000 Words" will be easier for you to learn. Experience mental stability before your rising heart rate chokes the life out of you like the former Me would have. Knowledge is Power, Peace and Respect is the MOVEMENT

It wasn't exactly my intention to put the label directly at someone, I tried to do my best to do it indirectly- English is my 4:th language. Are you trying rationalize and justify your argument perhaps by my labels, while you using labels in your comments yourself? Let's both learn from this and stop. Life is a learning process.

What am I telling you!? It's hard to see past labels when one is labeled himself for something to make someone else to feel better of himself, I am not guilty and am tired of racial bullshit. Judgement, condemnation or hate, it's all a product of being weak so one thinks of a plan to feel better of who they are. Served with politics and religion, man twists his tongue when trying to talk good. At least we can agree on that! Take it easy out there brother!

Also, what is the connection between Emmanuel I, Marcus Garvey, and Haile Selassie I? Who was Emmanuel I and why is he important to Rastas?

    Rastafari are beautiful people.
Having lived in Ethiopia for 2 years, I was sad to see that they don't embrace the Rastafari there, against herb and the way of life.. the majority being catholic or muslim they don't share the same view that Ras Tafari fufilled any biblical prophecy. Ethiopians being beautiful people too I remain neutral in the subject, just a surprising fact about the link between Rasta and Addis.

Man you are not giving up!Yes certain Europeans had to do with colonialism and imperialism. But these were mostly rich inquisitory royal capitalist that needed wealth in order to maintain power, also Arabs in northern Africa were also slave dealers and masters, between 1500 and 1800 there were even light skinned slaves in northern Africa. The slave dealers that sold slaves were mostly pirates that kidnapped people and sold them -- in your regard, blacks to "american" soil to those slave owners.

I have read it,if you still want to keep your argument in spite of the fact that I already explained to you what I meant, then your argument holds weak and we have nothing further to discuss. Do you know why there is a caucasian christ? Because in early christianity it was forbidden to depict christ. But as religion spread and reached the greec regions, a more caucasian looking Christ emerged resembling how people looked there.

@oc00011 Here's some explanation I. Haile Selassie I, Jah Rastafari was crowned King of Kings, Lord of Lords, elect of God, all conquering Lion of the tribe of Judah in 1930. It is written in Revelations that the Lion of Judah will break the 7th seal, wich signals the beginning of the Armageddon. You said for yourself that Kebra Negast teaches us the lineage of the Solomonic Dynasty, in wich Selassie I is the last one. (BTW he is still alive, so his son is no king.)

My friend is Ethiopian and he thought it was funny coming to Europe cause the images of Jesus that he'd seen was much darker. You can google it and you will see a dark skinned Jesus in African literature. Secondly, Europeans were slave dealers, the only slavery that was promoted through race was of that happening in american soil. If you look at history, slavery had no racial origin. So I really don't know what you mean by European slave master, I am half European and I have never heard of it.
