    Russ, Hello from Ohio….due to your review I bought a BM 02 phone holder for my Magnum Ui6. I am well pleased with the security of my phone now and easy access. Thanks so much for your videos and reviews. Stay well and ride lots👍😉

    Russ: Excellent informative video similar to what you did with the VEEAPE portable air compressor that I bought and use frequently based on your recommendation. Would you consider making a video about flat tire prevention solutions (e.g. flat resistant tires, liners, slime, armor tube inserts, etc.) as you have mentioned the risk of getting a flat tire while on a ride in previous videos? Another interesting topic would be how to change brake pads on an e bike with hydraulic brakes. Flat tires, battery management and brakes are the most frequent issues that I deal with for my e bike and am interested in your perspective. Thank you

      @RussIsRight  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the compliment and for the suggestions. The brake issues will be addressed in a video one day. The tire solutions... well, I've only used Slime and I've never had a flat from being on the road... so I don't think I can comment on it well enough. Battery management might be something I can do. :)

      Depends on the phone. The new phones have be more lenses. Check out my video on the Lamicall BP 09. That has a half size mount and does not block the lenses at all.

    I use a QuadLock phone mount. Requires their proprietary phone case but I needed a case for my new iPhone anyway. This is a very secure mount that is more compact in size compared to many mounts. It is meant to hold your phone centered over the stem but I think offset one’s are available as well.

    I just watched a review and test of the unit on the left but have the unit on the right, arrived yesterday 01/11/2023. I'm now wondering if the unit on the right protects the phone from damage from jarring bumps and vibrations. Some people say their phone cameras were damaged by riding with the phone mounted to a phone mount. I will eventually install tire armor for puncture resistance, which allegedly smooths the ride a bit. Still hoping the phone will be safe before then.

    Many phones have credit card holders on the back making the phone thicker, will these devices support this scenario?

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  2 года назад

      I don't know since I don't have one of those kinds of cases. I did try to see if a thick Otter Box case would work with it, it did not. It was close though. Now the Otter Box cases are super thick around the outer edges of the case. If I pushed hard, I could just barely get it in there. If these credit card cases you talk about are only thicker in the middle and not the edges of the case, it might work... I just don't have one to try.

    • @chase4381
      @chase4381 2 года назад +1

      @@RussIsRight Thanks Russ. It's the credit card case holder sticker thin silicone that allows you to stick on the back of your existing case holding about 5 credit cards. Based on your reply doesn't look like the device can hold it as it will be too thick.

    I plan to use your code to buy a RadRover but I can’t decide on highstep and Step Thru.
    We are similar size and I have experience riding but I have a fused ankle and also wanted my wife to try the bike.
    What would the drawbacks of the step thru be? Would you be just as happy with the step thru?

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  2 года назад +1

      The step thru is a lot easier to mount and dismount from the bikes. The Step Over versions will require you to swing your leg over the saddle and often times, I lean the bike to the side at the same time. The bikes are heavy and so even leaning it takes a bit of effort due to the weight. As for the step thru, you can simply "step through" the opening without a problem. Overall, step thru bikes are a lot easier. The drawback that I can see is if someone wanted to put a triangle battery on the bike (like I do with the Rover 5), you wouldn't have a triangle there to do that. Other than that, I don't think there is much disadvantage of the step thru versus over the step over. So, if you don't plan to add a triangle battery and re-wire the bike for it... the step thru version is much easier to deal with. Now, if you plan to transport your bike with something like the Hollywood rack on the back of your car, you will need an attachment that simulates a top bar with that bike rack. You can't lock in the step thru bike on the rack without it. It's no big deal, but it is added expense. Check out the rack on the RAD site to see what I'm talking about.

      @@RussIsRight I think even though I prefer the look of the high step (probably the man in me 😆), I’ll get the step thru for the ease of mounting and dismounting and my wife will be comfortable.

    Thanks for the review, Russ! They are nice mounts, but I think I will stay with my Bone Bike Tie Pro 4 when my new magicycle arrives. On that note, do you happen to know if a bottle holder will fit on the front basket mount screws? I doubt I will use the normal place to mount it, so I can have leg swing room as it's a step over. Searching alternate locations...

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  2 года назад +1

      Good question. I measured the distance of the holes in the basket mount on the bike and the distance of the holes of the bottle holder and they don't line up. The bottle holder distance is shorter than the basket holes distance.
