      Luckily I 'only' got the flu, but there's no explanation of why coming off 'anti'depressants after only 4 days causes this and when it will end. It's not a flu 'like' syndrome, it is literally the flu.

    I ran out of my antidepressant and haven’t gotten a refill and it’s been almost a week I think. My brain like is convincing me not to tell my parents and stuff against my better judgement idk why. I’ve experienced light headedness/dizziness that’s really really disorienting and makes it feel like I’m gonna pass out or like I’m dissociating and I’ve had trouble falling asleep as well as mood swings especially in the past couple days. Minimize much? If "not gonna die" is the worse case you have no idea what you are talking about. With these withdrawal symptoms, dying would seem like a blessing and a gift. The people who die via suicide on this didn't choose to kill themselves, it's direct action of the prescribing doctors who have - no clue - how to get patients off it. Generally, *that* is what is common.

    • @4GSLmusic
      @4GSLmusic 9 месяцев назад

      prozac has a half life of 5 days and it really depends on how you metabolize meds which is different for everyone. A lot of patients do become hypersensitive to caffeine and other stimulants on psych meds and coming off them in withdrawal as the nervous system is dysregulated and trying to regulate. So I would avoid coffee for now and caffeine, and stabilize your nervous system. make sure you drink plenty of water, get 8 hours of sleep a night at least, exercise *doesn't have to be anything crazy, just move if you can each day*, and eat clean foods. You will stabilize, it just takes time. And as always reach out to your dr if it worsens. Your body needs time to balance out again. It will!

      Try to find a dr who will do compounding with your med(s). It is very hard to find dr's who will deprescribe safely. The typical way they were taught is not a great way for most patients. I have found in my own experience, working with drs, and then also listening to patients, that coming off slowly in a hyperbolic taper works best. A compounding pharmacy makes tapering so much easier because you can come off in smaller increments than what a tablet or capsule offer! I would recommend this. I am not a dr so please talk to your dr. But speaking from experience this helps minimize and limit the severity of withdrawal symptoms! Remember, slow and steady wins the race. It's not always comfortable, but going slower really does help your CNS stabilize in a more doable and manageable way.

      yes. anytime you take a psychoactive drug it gives you withdrawal...however the severity will depend on how long you've been on it, your metabolic breakdown, your biology, and the amount of med you've been on. TCA's which is what notriptylin is can hurt pretty badly coming off of since it doesn't just affect serotonin. Always taper slowly even if you've been on it "short term". Everyone is different. but yes withdrawal is possible even within 3 weeks. hopefully not as severe if you had been on it for say 6 months or more

      I'm so sorry to hear what you're experiencing. I have lived it. You will be ok! Find a dr who advocates for you and you know your body best. Ask a dr to work with you by going through a compounding pharmacy. This will help you adjust the dose more subjectively and come off of paxil safer. You can come off it, just do it very slowly with a dr's guidance. Give your body time to heal. It will. Life isn't over, it's just beginning. All of those symptoms are normal that you described. The best way, again, come off slowly. You'll know if you're going too fast by the severity of your withdrawal symptoms.

    I feel like I’m constantly panicking and dreading things and everything that would normally be a little bit annoying feels 100x more of a disturbance than usual. I’m having very vivid dreams waking up sweaty and I’m really struggling. I don’t know how long this will last but it’s only been 2-3 days and last time I tried to do this I couldn’t continue and went back on my tablets. I stopped abruptly because I started waking up at 7-9pm and I usually took my tablets before when I woke up at around 1-4pm. I’m very frightened of how this feels continuing forever and my brain and body not resetting to how it should be (I don’t even know what that is anymore as ive been on tables for a few years max 7 years). I hope someone can help.

    • @4GSLmusic
      @4GSLmusic 9 месяцев назад

      Inner compass does help. But I will say tapering isn't a one size fits all unfortunately. Everyone is so different. Work with a dr on tapering. Compounding is easiest and more accurate in my opinion. You can change the amount you taper by liquid. The way you'll know you're going too fast and at too high of a reduction is by what your body tells you (withdrawal symptom severity). Work with a dr on going slowly and take time to ease your nervous system in the process. ie (getting adequate sleep, praying/meditating, eating clean foods, avoiding foods that cause inflammation, drinking plenty of water, avoiding alcohol and caffeine. you will be ok!

    Also fellow people if you also suffer with anxiety, your doctor will try their best to get you to take beta blockers! These will target your healthy heart and not make your anxiety symptoms any better. Doctors are also in a business but it’s not to make you better!

      It can take awhile for withdrawal symptoms to be noticeable. Make sure to talk with your dr, as sx you may face may not be rebound depression and/or anxiety, rather withdrawal from the chemicals. Everyone has withdrawal from psychoactive meds, the severity depends on your body, the med dosage, how long you've been on it, etc. Some people can come off quicker and have no issues, but cold turkey isn't advised. it can be detrimental for many. If you start to have uncomfortable symptoms stay in touch with your dr. It's always best to come down slowly with a dr's help in case you run into issues :)

      If you haven't had withdrawal symptoms for a year your dizziness and imbalance is likely caused by something else. Fluoxetine, for most people, is the easiest antidepressant to come off of because of its half life. Have you been tested for Covid?

      no this is actually quite normal even coming off of prozac. It depends on the person and withdrawal can still be very unsettling and painful for many patients. SERT occupancy explains more of this, and while many think Prozac is "easier" to taper because of the 5 day half life, it simply isn't for so many. I wouldn't say any psychotropic med is truly easy to come off of especially if you've been on it longterm. The body has to learn how to produce serotonin on its own with a synthethic chemical. Withdrawal from antidepressants can last for months and years for some. This is in literature and we know this. Fortunately, a small percentage of people can come off psych drugs fairly easy. It is not rare to experience major withdrawal symptoms for an extended amount of time. It's protracted for many or PAWS. :) it's very painful .....@@susangraham1203

      Brother I was on a similar chemical to venafalaxine called desvenafalaxine. I had a fit one night and woke up crumpled in a ball up against my couch. Went to the doctor the next day and he said get off it and get on another medication. I listened because he was my doctor and got off my medication and onto another one in the same day. Two months later I ended up waking up for work one day in my own bedroom with complete amnesia and I couldn't recognise where I was and my dad came over and I didn't recognise him and actually ran away down the street and I didn't know where I was or who I was until my heart rate went up and I seen my own street and remembered where I was. Scariest day of my life, please be careful!! I worry about others going through the same stuff!!

    If you miss one dose of a SSRI you will feel like your nerves are on fire. It's really similar to an opiate withdrawal actually. You can't stop yawning, you can't stop stretching, you get horrible muscle cramps when you do this compulsive stretching. I'm a woman so everything in the private area gets super sensitive. Link to the point where you're just so overly sensitive just moving around and that stretching you can't control will spur an uncontrollable orgasm. Which is not pleasant I think it might be. I'm going through this right now. I swore I took my Zoloft last night. But now I wonder if I did. I took a dose right away when I started feeling like this. And sometimes I feel like this when the Zoloft isn't working and now. I didn't skip a dose and it's just happening out of the blue again I need my medication upped.
