    You are one of very few that got her down in one piece on the maiden. Good job John

    You were on high adrenaline with that rocket. Anytime your heart pumping 120 and breathing like a race horse, you know it's a hell of a maiden. Great job breaking in that "wild mustang!"

      Thanks, it was fun. I bet this will plane will really haul the mail after getting the throws set right and learning to dive bomb with it.

    Fun video, I have had the delta strike for a while and maidened the alpha strike yesterday. It went ok....but I am a bit of a wimp and flew it with 3s 2200 instead of 4s. Still very very fast, and hot on landing. Might try 4s when I am a bit more comfortable. Like it a lot. Andy in UK.

    Great work man. saving up for one of these.

    But if you imput med throttle to full throttle a bit slower i normally have no torque roll with my fast prop jets..edf models react totally different...i love fast prop jet models and this one seems awesome..just ordered the pnp last night...it seems best to me to toss over hand hard at 50% throttle maybe 60 degrees ..this is how i been throwing all of my fast prop models..the key is getting on the sticks fast before is takes a dirt dive..then trim her out and keep her close so you dont loose orientation..i never used any gyros...started flying these type planes 10 years ago..destroyed and lost a few learning..but i love these type of planes..adrenaline rush is priceless.😊

    Nice! If you like fast, I maidened a Voodoo pylon racer last weekend. I've a relatively hot setup in there for 160mph straight and level. Yikes!!!
    Also, as a delta wing, I'd have thought that some power and nose high would be the slowest way of landing this? I've no idea how it handles like that, mind.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  2 года назад

      For most of my wings I just kill the power and flare to a stop. I can usually spot land wings.

    • @CyclingMikey
      @CyclingMikey 2 года назад

      @@RCVideoReviews Yeah sure, you gotta fly how you like. I personally just love the ability of most delta wings to fly so slow and nose high. :)

    I am surprised it needed so much trim...when you landed i am curious to what your ailerons settings looked like..
    I hear it needs quite a bit of up elevator to fly level,but am surprised it was leaning to one side and needed a lot of right or left trim...was your cog slightly nose heavy or exactly on cg from manual? Ps..i plan on painting mine orange ..😊thanks

    Great review. Not a fan of Zohd products. I have had a few of their planes and still have the Drift. Mediocre at best with flight characteristics. I have to admit they are designed and put together solidly but just don’t fly well. This is a supreme example. Great build quality but squirrelly in the air. My eFlite evolution F27 flies 100 mph + and flies like it’s on rails. The Zohd VC400 unit is a great adjunct.

  • @paulhope3401

    With three large NACA's don't you think they went a bit OTT on the airflow?
    Its not a slow model so will get absolutely loads of airflow from its high cruising speed alone.
    I'd have prefered the ESC to have been mounted on top of the fuse just behind the motor.. and the 2 side NACA's blocked off to make it less draggy and being a perfornance model.. even faster.
    I think I'll do that with mine. Wish I had a GPS to see how much of a difference that would make.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  2 года назад +1

      I guess that depends on what you want from it. If you want absolute hands down top speed, sure. You may as well cover the finger cutouts at the bottom too. As it stands I think it’s plenty fast enough for how I would use it zipping around on goggles.

    Maybe try high alpha to see if it can be landed slower? That is how real life delta wings land

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  2 года назад

      High alpha low to the ground with a prop hanging off the back isn't the way I would "approach it" :) I've been landing wings for a very long time. Even on this alpha strike maiden that was nearly a spot landing. I like to get them low, get them in ground effect and just let them settle in.

    When you say it torque rolls at full speed are you saying that it won’t stay level at full throttle and you have to use the elevons to keep it level?
    That sounds scary at that high of speeds

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  Год назад

      Yes, torque roll results in rotation about the longitudinal axis. It can be counteracted with aileron. Not unexpected on short wingspan high power motor setups like this one.

      @@RCVideoReviewsyes but once plane is doing 100 per hour and are level he asked if it still rolls..which would be pretty bad...i never had that issue with my other fast pusher jets..thinking if thats the case maybe a 5x5 apc would fix that.thanks
