Third flight of the ZOHD Delta Strike 600mm Wingspan FPV 50mm EDF Jet and again it was quite scary. With a new 4 Max 4S2200 mah pack all the way to the back and the DJI Air Unit sat on top it just needed a gentle throw to get away because I had fitted a new FMS fan from 4-Max and cut a cheater hole underneath the fuselage just in front of the fan to ensure it was not starved of air. You will see that I attempted to fly it FPV but had a mishap. We'll be back to try again soon.

WHAT'S GOOD
Easiest and quickest way to get an FPV jet in the air at low cost
Simple and very very quick to assemble
Dense foam (for grey version) so very resilient
Good power system on 4S
Fairly long cabin so easy to fit 4S2200 pack. Larger pack if no FPV.
NOT SO GOOD
Unusual roll tendencies (maybe gyro will compensate)

A warning about this plane. Dogs love it. Yesterday morning I flew mine off the football pitch I use near hadrians wall. As I threw it two greyhounds ran onto the field from the adjacent public footpath and chased it across the field at about a foot of the ground as it gained power. They then stood there watching it and waiting for it to land, howling menacingly. The owner managed to grab them as I was circling the field and it all ended well. Wish I had a video. Video was pixelated as you prepared for take off,maybe antennas came loose on previous landing or AU was overheating??? What was the big battery pack for,field charging??

Yes Jake. I should have checked everything still connected after that first launch. Silly mistake 🙃 Never stop learning. Big Liion pack from Jason's electric bike we use for field charging.

Hi, I really like your videos! I cant remember if this is the video you talked about shortening the motor leads? I found a solution, splay out the wire end where you want to solder and scrape the individual wires with a hobby knife. This removes that lacquered coating on the wire then you can solder it. I fly near Seattle Wa. and the weather looks very similar to where you are. keep up the good work!

I haven't but I've no doubt it will. Wouldn't be fun flying it as a line of sight model though. This is supposed to be an FPV jet and that's the way I want to fly it!

When I fly my EDF's, I always ask myself: _"Self, how can we make these flights shorter? Also, do you think there's a way to make a crazy plane any crazier?"_

Does it have gyro stability? Seems like the travel rates should be reduced and a hair of expo added. Overall really cool build. If you want I could design you a little 3d printable scoop for the extra air intake.
