@@marimcge independently guitarists on tour are paying tribute to the King. You see them covering songs or playing eruption during their solo section with the stage background in red/white stripes. But nothing in the way of a Taylor Hawkins style tribute. Neil Peart hasn’t had a proper tribute either.

This a very rare moment. Thats why im more proud to be a filipino. Wow, this is once in a lifetime, Arnel and Kirk together with Neil Schon and the rest of Journey. It gives me goosebumps. I wish the official recording come out soon or a dvd.
I did a lot of work on Kirk's aunt's house in Pittsburgh, Ca. A sweet woman who made me some amazing pancit.
I commented before the enter sandman switch and damn this just blew my mind …. So much awesome here even hearing Arnel sing Enter Sandman was amazing!

Between the two of them, they don't need Perry and all the problems he brings (before you respond, look up the history of the band, specifically what Herbie Herbert had to say; he wasn't nice to any of them but what he said about Perry was revealing and made a LOT of sense).

Arnel is incredible. He can adapt his voice to anything and sound absolutely amazing. Deen is awesome too, I don’t know how he can be such an amazing drummer and also sing as well as he does at the same time.

Well, I must say that was both a shock and a treat. I have been a huge Journey fan since around 1979. Also, I am a hard rock fan from back in the day. Some of my friends could never understand how I could be a big Journey fan and also like bands like Metallica. Well, I guess they might understand now. Thanks for sharing this!
I, too, love both bands, and I've seen them both live (Journey at JFK Stadium in 1983; Metallica at the Philadelphia Spectrum in 1986 and 1989). My musical tastes run the gamut from Sinatra to Slayer with plenty of stops in between -- both expected and unexpected. You're not alone! 🎼 🎶🎵🎷🎹🎻🎸🥁
Journey can rock out pretty hard once in awhile. It's usually on the deeper cuts like "Edge of the Blade".

Funny how people keep knocking this band. Yes Steve Perry is gone, but we are basically 30 years down the road now and the band continues to rock. The band has always evolved- before and after Perry. Before Jonathan Cain arrived they were different, even with Perry. And it seems Bad English (with the current Journey members) did well without Perry too, logging a #1 song- which is something Journey never did. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Perry golden years.. but I appreciate that they've continued on with Arnel and have done pretty well overall...
No one does impro like Neal Schon and in so many different genres. In this day and age, the guy is truly unique. Check out the impro by NS with Sammy Hagar doing Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus... it is mind blowing.
