We got to meet him Briefly on Stage in1979 on Stage with Steve Perry [ as my then girlfriend posed as Steve's cousin from San Diego right before their show Patrick Morrow gave us front row seats ]
i saw neal with bad English on the second album tour. then i saw him with hardline in a place called confettis in Albuquerque where you could literally see the sweat from the band it was so close. got to see the unique stylings of neals playing.im not just saying, but neal is as good as any guitarist ive seen. ive seen adrian vandenberg twice, vivian campbell, steve vai, eddie vanhalen, and other guitar gods. neals right there with them.
Schon only guitarist that provided in home personal studio performances, during stay home covid arrival. Displayed couple his floyd equipped strats, I mentioned those are stellar. Approx 20-minutes later, schons response message was Love em". Then Neil being Neil, began to provide his extraordinary runs within these strats. When I mentioned runs from schon, they definitely are not boring runs, these runs are off, any chart runs.
Excellent job! It's so nice to hear his last name pronounced correctly! No use of AI either! Stay original like you are! You gained another subscriber! ✌🏼
k==satch, bucket head=jimmy page, =bonamassa, sammy haggar, alex lifeson, lets round em up!!! its a must have, 50$ bucks a seat, farm aid, 2024, lets get it!!!
Thanks for the comment. I think he was 16 during the recording of Santana 3 but was 17 when it was released. So he may have been 15 when he started hanging out with them.
All evidence? Neal himself has stated MANY times that he joined when he was 15. He was offered to join Eric Clapton's band at the same time but didn't want to move to England.
How is this the "untold story" of Neal??? Everything said is common knowledge. Please work on your narration. Notice how your voice drifts down at the end of every sentence? How about mentioning some lesser-known information, like how he played with B.B. King, Albert King and Elvin Bishop at the age of 14? All of whom were blown away. Or his work on the heavy metal charity album "Hearing Aid" and his work with Jimmy Barnes, Michael Bolton, VTR (Valory, Tickner, Rossington), Sammy Hagar (solo), Ted Nugent and so many more.
@@muffinman4353 You can't compare one to the other; they're completely different styles. But Schon is definitely ONE of the best guitarists on the planet, without doubt. Same as Steve Lukather is ONE of the best guitarists on the planet.
@@muffinman4353 His attitude is egotistical but you're delusional about his playing as well as Journey's catalogue. You're not inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame for kiddie rock, Copernicus!
@@muffinman4353 I don't dispute the fact that he's a douchebag and a clown. But he's HARDLY a kiddie-rock guitarist. He's one of the greatest players on the planet. Satriani doesn't ask just 'anybody' to be a part of G3 and Schon has been invited to be a part of that with Joe and Vai on more than 1 occasion. Think it's you who needs to WAKE UP!
I love Journey and Neal Schon!!!
Definitely
Loved Journey since they were an instrumental band.
Me too Schon is my favorite.
Sir neal schon thank you for sharing in this great video.....godbless & gudluck always.
Thanks for watching and the comment.
Unfortunately he could never be a "Sir" because he is American.

Yep and he’s still doing videos when not on the road.

Agree
Thanks for watching.
The claim has always been that he joined Santana at age 15 but all evidence suggests that he was actually 17.

If Bruce Springsteen focus just on guitar ...lmao
I don't know what that means?
This is the Wikipedia article on Schon read almost word for word...
Thanks for watching.

Well Hardline isn't really talked about in the rock scene but of what came after hardline.
Neal is, without doubt, one of best guitarists on the planet but, unfortunately an egotistical prick.
