Love mine. Fitted with every rpm part. Have the Maxx, Hoss, 4x4 slash ect.. and my 2wd Stampede is just so much fun, so easy to work on, probably my favourite RC truck 👍
I would like to know what you think so far? I only have one Traxxas, one was enough. It's a Stampede VXL. One complaint I have is it is I put a GPS on it and is not near as fast as advertised. I've had it maybe 9 months and I really don't think that I'm that hard on it but it broke it the first time out and almost every time I took it out usually an axle I was buying stock axles in bulk until I got MIPs. Now I've pretty much upgraded everything except the shock towers, electronics, and the main chassis parts. A $450 dollar truck now is probably $1100 to 1200 dollar Truck. I have a Front and rear MIP axles ESP A-arms. Pro-line Brute Bash Armor Body. T-bone racing basher bumpers and T-bone Wheel bar I highly recommend T-bone racing there stuff is indestructible. I wanted Maximum protection so I went with the Wide T-Bone Basher bumper, I thought it would be really ugly but once I saw it in person I love it. I wouldn't own a monster truck without one.
Cool gentle bash you gave it there mate, I knew you would love it, your need to bash It a hell of a lot harder then that to damage anything, the more you bash it the harder your tend to do it, but that’s what traxxas are made sure, your have no problems throwing it around hard, very hard, 20ft jumps no problem, we bash ours hard and the only models that tends to stand up to them is the traxxas slash and t-maxx, traxxas are the best selling bashing truck manufacturers for a good reason. Lol really sounded like you loved it though mate I knew you would, my vxl stampedes are still my favourite trucks even after 10+ years of owning stampedes.. a little tip for you if you have not done it already stick the round foam body pads to the shell on the body shell holes and if you want double up and put some of the front and rear body mount posts too, that will stop most of the body wobble you hear, you should have got some supplied with the truck.. also when your ready just give your slipper clutch 1/4 or 1/6th of a turn to tighten it a little, your be a wheelie machine and your slipper will still have enough slipper movement, and raise your wheelie bar up as well, it will stop it collecting thing, soon your be doing 50m wheelies you wait lol.. I LOVE the wheel arch clearance, it really helps when doing big jumps, i mean big though 10ft -20ft the suspension arms and shocks have a heck of a lot of travel, fully compressed the arms and wheels will be right up close to the wheel arches, also putting fully adjustable shocks on chances the ride height. Like I said in my other post mate if you got any questions just ask I’m happy to help if you need it, like what to upgrade and what not to upgrade, or if you just want to natter.. Happy rcing, 👍
Oh Marc those are some incredible tips matey, thank you. Right here goes :-) - - - I took her to a mud BMX track yesterday and bashed her harder and crashed it, landed jumps incorrectly etc and i have to say this thing seems to be indestructible (i know she's not lol). II do hate that body sound so using your tip will help no end , You say 20ft jumps, i dont meant to be rude but are you serious? i haven't watched a lot of videos on it i just went by your recommendations and bought it lol, i forgot to give you a shoutout too but i have fixed that by adding your channel to my comments and pinning it. I believe the next Traxxas i have bought is going to be even harder and more difficult to drive, but i have a real appreciation for controlling these cars correctly and people driving them as they are meant to be. I will certainly take you up on your offer of picking your brains matey, next time we talk? Thank you bud :-)
JD Quad hi jd, thanks for posting a link to my channel mate, I’ve got some cool videos coming.. I’m so glad you like the stampede and I can safely say your like any traxxas model you get, I’ve had a few that have not stayed in my collection long, like the bandit and the nitro jato, but not because they was bad, just because we had better and because it they did not meet our needs at the time, but we have had or have, the nitro 2.5 revo, nitro jato, nitro t-max 2.5r (5 of them lol) e-Maxx, 2wd vxl rustler, 2wd stampedes, 2wd slash, (a awesome brick with wheels lol) and the latest is the vxl mini 1/16th erevo which blow our minds. No matter what traxxas model you get your be more then happy they are true bashing machines, and customer support is great, I have a very cool story to tell you about that when we talk on the phone.. lol sounds like you had awesome fun at the bmx track, your end up upping those limits every time, which it’s all about to be honest, some models like a gentle bash and others will take and even like the beating to be honest we put ours through some proper abuse but in a good way lol, if your not subscribed to traxxas official RUclips channel I highly recommend you do mate, no BS with their channel and showing their products they just show you awesome stuff and some of what they are capable of doing.. jd your never rude my buddy, yeah 10ft-20ft jumps these will handle the latter if landed correctly, lol the vxl slash is even stronger lol. As you know the suspension arm pins are known to bend but only from ‘a lot’ hard bashing, but it’s sometimes good to have weak points on a model as you know, in the summer or before if we get the chance and put the drones down lol, we’re do some footage but I think your be getting your own hard bashing footage very soon anyway lol.. looking forward to hearing about your next traxxas model mate and I’m looking forward to our chat, just text me anytime and we will arrange a call.. happy rcing bud 👍
Hey JD ! Some people do a body lift to get more room for larger tires . Now the good stuff , speed , doing wheelies , spinning the tires , leaving tracks in the icy grass , doing jumps and rolling over !! Can it get anymore fun ??? : )
Thank you matey very much, well you say that buuuuuuttt i took her to a mud BMX track yesterday and was pulling loads of dirt jumps and crashed it a heap too lol :-)
Nice vid. Sat here thinking with the world going to pot I’ll get me a toy to go bash around the woods. Just searching model shops that are still trading and what’s in a budget that the mrs won’t castrate me over. Two bits of your write up at the end made me giggle. The two wheel rear wheel correction was funny but when your saying what battery you were out on and then say it’s lasted absolutely.... well 45 mins 🤣 Anyway. Was looking at HPI jumpshot but looks like I’d be bored after day one. Seems if I want something with some guys it’s going to be around the £400 mark. payday Friday, hopefully countries not on full lockdown before I get paid and can order something 😬
Awesome run JD. She seems to be a beast. As you said battery just kept going. I believe you said you had other bodies coming, just curious if they will have the same gap between the wheels. Great video
Thank you Raymond bud, i'm not sure. I have bought after market bodies so we will see i think, the gap seems to be for when you are seriously pushing her hard so the body doesn't hit the wheels .... i think :-). I'll do a video on it when it arrives and we can see if the gap is the same.
This was a fair review and o be honest I agree that the only thing that would put me off something like this is I am not a big fan of Tiny bodies on big chassis and it is almost like the body should be 1/5 scale to be more proportionate but I guess some people like the monster truck look. I also think with Traxxas for the prices they charge they could fit better quality parts like servos which from what I can see fail pretty quickly on vehicles such as the TRX4 saving you the need to upgrade so soon having just bought them?
Thank you Polecat bud, i have heard some horror stories from friends of mine relating to Traxxas trucks and their parts but so far i'm very impressed, but that wont stop them from breaking lol. So far i have no complaints .... so far, but i'm also looking at this and the other Traxxas truck i have bought as investments (not sure if thats a wise thing to do or not in all honesty) and use them hard and upgrade as appropriate, tbh for the minute friend i am just winging it lol. Do you have any recommendations for a large hard hitting truck?
@@jdquad I have researched the trail/Crawler hobby for months now and there is a lot of hype and junk plus some nice machines The thing that always kept coming up was the best Scale truck being the RC4WD D90 and D110, so After getting some RTR I decided to bite the bullet and buy a D90 which was a huge "investment" to make for one truck. Even though I had watched countless videos and seen them in scale completions in US Nothing had prepared me for how good this looks and the amazing Quality of the manufactured parts of this truck! It would give you quiet a few videos building this little beauty and rather than buying upgrade parts for RTR this whole truck is an upgrade part! So The D90 is my ultimate truck and the Kanyon is my go to dog walking truck and the FTX outback 2 is the truck I don't mind rolling down rocky hills because it is so light it is unlikely to get damaged :) Of course this is just my opinion based on hundreds of hours of obsessive research lol
Runtime will vary based on battery cell quality, if the cells are properly balanced when charging as well as weather too. As batteries that are too cold tend to drop charge slightly faster Vs one's used in the summer. I reckon a good 10/12 mins approx bud.
if youre paying attention to facebook marketplace you can get a 4x4 for 200 with extras. join the traxxas buy sell and trade group. keep in mind this isnt a new bright rc car and tat most parts are 3 and 5 dollars. ell a brused motor new is 25 bucks and its a great choice to bullshit around with. if youre wanting new then the 2wd rustler cant be overlooked at 187 dollars out the door. i bought 4 boxes of parts and radios and built 2 2wd slashes and 2 2wd rustlers for 150 dollars, even caught a 120 dollar charger in the boxes.
Now that's a MONSTER truck!! My girlfriend would smash that to a pile of parts in about 3 minutes!!😁😁 Wway too fast, but incredibly well built. Looks a little odd from the front with the body so high above the chassis, wouldn't that adversely effect the centre of gravity? I can tell you are in love 😁
Thanks Steve, yeah i thought that too thats why i mentioned it in the video i thought someone that had more knowledge than me regarding Traxxas may have said it was for a particular reason. After taking this to a mud BMX track yesterday it certainly seems to be so the moving body when going over bumps etc doesn't hit the wheels. Thats the only reason i can see for it i think, i've got a replacement body coming so i'm interested if the after market ones fit better? Thank you buddy very much :-)
