Excellent car! Maybe one of the best!
Until recently, Alpinas have avoided using the same engines as M division. M5 and B5 share the same basic 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8 engine (same capacity). This one is the 1st Alpina's engine which hasn't been overbored.

Something like a couple of months ago, I saw a guy driving a 5 series diesel, you know it was an early 90s 5 series that can bought with 3000 €. But the most strange thing was that he wrote BITURBO on its rear ahah and it had just a ridicolous exhaust

but, how many Alpina's have you seen? rather not so many, and how many M5's have you seen? i'm sure that more than Alpina's. both cars are so amazing, it just depends what you prefer
impressive!!! maybe front fog ligts are missing.they are always good detail on any car.
Basic differences: the inlet set-up is different, torque, gear boxes.

Can people in the United States buy the B3, and the B5? Because it is not shown on the BMW websites, or at the dealers.

alpina is understatement...if you wanna have a 5 series with the performance of an M5 but not its looks becausde of understatement or to get more elegance you go alpina....they build the engine themselves, it is not like a tuner or some...and also alpina is exclusive...I think there were only 24 alpina b5 bought new in 2012
