I had forgotten a group of owls was a parliament! To add to the fun group names.. A large group of lady bugs is called a “loveliness” … which I love! ❤ 🐞
Nuts and mints may seem like a weird combination now, but they used to be served at wedding receptions, along with wedding cake and punch. I’m sure they were served for other occasions, too. This was before people spent a gazillion dollars on wedding receptions.
I was born and lived in Mississippi as a child and all wedding receptions were in church basements where they served cakes, 17:23 mints, nut, coffee and tea. I had totally forgot about that and remembered when you found the nuts and mints dish. Thanks for the unburied memory😊
The green glass thing is the topper of a fruit fly trap shaped like an apple or a pear. It covers the hole where you fill the trap with the bait liquid. I've got the pear one.
West coast pottery? Owls- a bunch of Hooters!!🤣 Years ago Nuts and Mints would be at every baby shower. Had some at mine. The flower plastic cups and the Aladdin thermoses (not sure what to call them) were part of my childhood. I am 60. 🫶🏻
I'm so glad you heard me screaming to get that adorable mouse! How FUN! So cute for a kitchen shelf with some cookbooks. His name shall be Ratatouille, lol
A group of owls are called “ a parliament of owls”. And if a group of geese on the ground they are “ a gaggle of geese” it’s when they’re flying that they are a “skein, team or wedge of geese”
4:17 i think that is the stopper that goes in those blown glass apple fly catchers. I thrifted one a few months ago and the stopper looks like that. It's pretty cool. Works for fruit flies.
Back in the 60s and 70s. Every single wedding shower or baby shower had nuts and mints. Today so many things are served. Then it was a cake, punch, nuts and mints.
At 3:53 I saw some rosebud plates that I would have loved to add to my set! I always want to tell you as if you can hear me when you are making the video.
When I was a kid and we would go to visit older relatives, they’d always have a bowl of mixed nuts in one candy dish and a bowl of those little pastel mints in another. I loved those mints and would always be disappointed if someone only had the nuts.
Any more broken things out there while we're on the subject? Yes my dear Mum at 95 years of age has had her back broken 5 times now and it DOES hurt. Cheers.

Hi Jocelyn. I hope you picked up the candlewick vase at the end. Thru the camera, it looked like it had some opalescence. Beautiful! Also, back in the day, it was typical to serve peanuts and the small pastel, pillow mints if you entertained. Such a cute find for those. ~Cathy
