Maybe it's because people use up all their good material when they are young. Also having kids and other responsibilities cuts into your time and energy.
i also tend to think that young people, especially the late teenage years, are times when you're discovering new emotions (while having some extra juices flowing, that tend to increase those emotions) and are less in tune with what they are, or how to process them or deal with them and do so through their passions. Pair that with language that better relates to the youngest generation. Put it together and you have both creative new-ity paired with emotional new-ity. Its kind of a win win if you have the trifecta by being talented/practiced by that age.
Inventors overwhelmingly have their breakthroughs in their 30s and 40s, this is factual not anecdotal. Outside of this age range it's more likely that a breakthrough will come from someone older than someone younger.
nobody ever became more famous to this guy lol sounds like he's just an older fangirl and cant give it up. Like those old ladies who only listen to elvis
Oof, Rick Beato, old man shouting at clouds, encouraging all the other music RUclips olds to shout at clouds, each other, and Rick Beato. Sad thing is, Rick Beato is the same age as me.
Aphex Twin, Portishead, The Cure, FSOL, PJ Harvey, Coil, Riyuichi Sakamoto... the list goes on. He's just talking about old bands and artists. Yeah, so am I but I'm not wrong. Respect the dandruff.
Don't forget Sophie (RIP), Squarepusher, Virtual Riot, Skrillex, Charlie XCX, Autechre, and Noisia although the only thing I do agree with Rick is that it is indeed easier to be creative when young because you have more spare time (in theory, I've met young people that are way more busy than an actual adult), and in the underground Dubstep scene specifically you're seeing way younger artists every time, some years ago almost every producer was about 20 ish years old, then 18, and now you're seeing way more 16 year olds and younger get into the genre, even Marauda started collabing with Code: Pandorum at 15 and Moore Kismet released with NSD:BL at 14
It’s probably not about age, but about how the industry changes people and ruins their individuality which is built around their home towns and culture, which all washes away after they all live the high life in the California hills. It washes away all the interesting things they have to say. People go from writing songs from their heart and soul, to churning them out for the industry, to make their label money, and to please fans. If you start a career at 30, you’ll be creative but likely wash out by 40. Something like that. All artists, no matter their age, typically produce their best works in the first 2 to 3 albums. Mostly 2, more rarely 3. The BEST of the BEST seem to make great music deep into their discography. Like Kendrick Lamar and Lana Del Rey. I prefer Lana’s earlier works, but her new stuff still has stand out tracks. I dislike how Rick is pressuring people to make it by 30, it’s bull. Music needs diverse voices from all age groups. Also, let’s not pretend like most pop stars are NOT cultivated by a big group of people. Those groups change over time… the writers and producers take on different projects. From Rihanna to Justin Bieber.
This is the type of thing where, I noticed this is a huge fear in ppl. So when people we may trust make videos of this sort it creates a feeling of unease, because a lot of time life sets us up to think we gotta have it all figured out in our twenties, but thats not really realistic, infact mastery if anything usually comes well into your 30s, a lot of your favorite artists are older than you know, and lots of people involved in their work, producers, engineers, etc. i think the biggest challenge we face is really about feeling too old, i think being young and inexperienced allows us a certain liberty to not make sense, and have all these ideas but no idea how to express them, and we duct tape, staple, and glue that idea together instead of knowing the right sized nuts and bolts, and at the end of the day it works for what you want it for. But its different than the factory model made by us who insist on our supposed 'perfection'. We never bust out the glue, the tape, because we've learned "better" ways to handle these types of situations.
Nah, I agree with the other side here. It’s not about the age it’s probably about distractions which happen more as you get older (relationships, business, taxes, blah).
Got to love all his examples of scientists, because all but Newton did their biggest work over the age of 30. Einstein didn’t set out his theory of General Relativity until he was 38
Rick could’ve just said he’s more right brained instead of the fluid/crystallized thing he said in the video. And that he has muscle memory for the scales and chords.
I don’t think the musician’s creativity diminishes at age 30. I think at the age of 30, the audience changes and the artist or musician struggles to keep the attention of new listeners while using the same arrangements. Times change.
Naming rappers for good examples of aged creativity is kind of weird. They’re not producing any music or writing any music, they’re just writing words to beats.. With the exception of Kanye.
I have this theory that I told RUclips to not recommend anything from Rick Beato. It turns out to be entirely correct 😝. Also I am exiting before this video continues, especially since he is continuing his bizarre love affair with the Beatles.
I wouldn’t call rapping being musically creative. You only judge rappers by their lyrics, not their ability to create music, lyrics and melody. If you say Kanye West is the exception, well…… he samples other people’s music and that’s building on somebody else’s creativity.
Lol sampling is a artform in itself.. you can't just grab and peice of music and most samples don't even sound the same after effects and chops are added .. if it's so easy you should have no issue getting those tallents main stream.. because people pay good money for good .. is it easier then playing a instrument.. well yes but it still takes tallent
Can creativity be measured with numbers other than the actual time we spend creating ? Can you calculate inspiration? These kind of questions I'd ask if I could.
Weaver waves away Beato's examples of The Beatles, Hendrix, Bowie, Prince, Newton, Einstein, Edison etc. Dismisses all that as "cherry picking". Proves his point with the counterexample of.... Aesop Rocky? But creativity does not die at 30. It's just that genius combined with the energy, disinhibition, and freedom of youth is what most often results in creative works of lasting significance. Which not at all the same thing as saying it's over after 30.
Aesop Rock is not A$AP Rocky. And Kendrick Lamar has had a perfect career that we only strive and never hope for. This channel has to prevent the creation of hundreds and hundreds of new songs everyday.
BS. Im 57 and have created more (and better) electronic music in the last 4 years (after a 10 year break) than I’ve ever had previously. And I’ve had keyboard and gear ongoing since i was 15. I still love learning stuff.
I agree with Rick. There's far too many artists that lose their creativity after their 30s for me not too agree. Currently The Weeknd is in the worst phase of his career as soon as he entered his 30s. There's definitely something to be said there.
Love Andy Edward’s channel! Solid cranky pub bloke shite. And damn Weav: you getting slow with age not picking up that ‘Kids with their computers writing songs about sex’ bit - regardless of context. Lol. Do more drugs, or something!
Thanks for the breakdown! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
Like Just want to add this point here. That beethoven was totally deaf early in his life relative to his masterworks, of which IMO is in greater number than any single person has ever produced. Based mainly on the lemgths of his works and the sheer power behind his music, he wrotr the equivalent to 3-4 times the amount of masterworks than even Pink Floyd who released Darkside, Animals, and Wish You Were Here in Succession, the Beatles even xont hold a cup to the length of time of beautifulmusic he did. Can you really include him in such a list. Also mozart wrote a new symphony every single sunday for church. Bachs library of work is albeit not as exciting, vast in it's scope. Its foolish to include the great masters of classical because the complexity and scale of their music was relegated to strict forns of the Pythagorean musical scale and could be written mostly without needing an instrument because of the way it is composed. Music today is so much more than that and itz kinda a foolish idea to think creativity begins to die at 30. Les Claypool for example. Has gotten far more greater of a composer as years went by. Beato is a know it all about something thats felt and never truly known.
Andy Edwards on Weaver Beats! lol. He's a grumpy old man, but I can't help liking him. I disagree half the time, but I like his pub-story-teller way of getting his ideas out, when I'm in the mood to listen to a brummie complaining for two hours straight.
Didn't understand the first video, the response video, or the boomer beats video. Cmon man. This video could have been titled "don't comment unless you actually know what the video says" yet here you are
@@zmmmzmmmz Rick is saying a whole lot about nothing, here in 🇯🇲 alot of the more active creative are way over 30, atp I think Rick says stuff just to get a reaction.
He's exclusively mentioning pop artists, it's pretty obvious that a large part of being a pop artist is having sax appeal, which fades with age.
The sax is a timeless instrument
and yes he does not take into account that record labels want young rather than old
I love sax and im 47
@@Barney-ii1no well obviously, not many retired aged people should be working let alone running around on stage

It may just be that creativity dies after you are successful or after you tap all your initial ideas.
NGL, I thought Rick was trolling when he arbitrarily decided that 30 was the age we all suddenly lose creativity, but then he kept going...😬
It's an excuse old people came up with to not feel bad for not doing things.
I got shot dead and my creativity soared.
I’m 47 and my creativity and output is just as strong as when I was 25. Maybe even more so now.

I bet in 2045 Beato's main pop reference will still be "The Beetles in the 70's"
nobody ever became more famous to this guy lol sounds like he's just an older fangirl and cant give it up. Like those old ladies who only listen to elvis
Alot of this more so has to deal with the freedom people have in their 20's along with not having other people to feed
MF DOOM and death grips were well into their 30's when they made groundbreaking music which shifted whole landscape
