An early 1900s Buffet Albert clarinet. Sent here because no one else can get the pieces apart. Really stuck barrel to lower joint, and mouthpiece to barrel. Look at the long process of removing the bell. You have to break the petrified cork from shearing forces.

Your camera was a little too close, but good information. There has to be, in this day and age, a better material for joints, than cork. Later: it worked! ...the razor blade trick. Thanks so much.

Using a iPhone for recording so the focus point moves around. And it's just me recording, writing, working, family etc so editing time (or redo time) is limited. But the razor blade trick was taught to me decades ago ... at least 1998 by the Ferrees of Ferree Tools.
Tenon cork - there's been other ppl trying various synthetics. But for the tenon high quality cork seems to be really good as long as it's not stuck there for - who knows how long for that clarinet. My R13s are in one of those Buffet slimline cases where the bell is still attached. My Bb the cork stuck to the inside of the bell and was ripped in half after sitting for 6 months. So the key is to get a case where the bell is not attached all the time.
