I think Defend Card is still useable but only when you attempt to run away. Also used during your first turn so pass card is used during your second go if that's probably more clear.
Pass actually sucks though, it just acts as a worse defend since it doesn't reduce damage, nor increase your guarding window like how defending does. I don't know what the devs were thinking with this card.
Nah man statue is actuslly pretty easy to dodge after you found out how to do it once I did a double dodge of smash now I can do it consistently Unexpected just press space after they stop at the edge of the screen

rematching the statues 10+ times will do that to you
