【Synopsis】In the last years of the Tang Dynasty, a military governor and warlord named Zhu Wen is out in the countryside when he happens to come across a boy who has been raised by wolves. The warlord decides to take the boy in, adopt him, and name him Zhu You Wen. Zhu Wen then proceeds to launch an ultimately successful coup, usurping the Tang monarch and installing himself as the first Emperor of the Later Liang Dynasty (907-923). The new Emperor names Zhu You Wen as a royal prince.
At court, Zhu You Wen forms a bond with a woman named Ma Zhai Xing, the daughter of a government official.
Despite his lofty status at court, Zhu You Wen is motivated by a strong sense of justice that was instilled in him during his years of living in the wild. He and Ma Zhai Xing begin to form a romantic bond. And with her support, he plans to temper his adoptive father’s unpopular and overly strict reforms - and battles to foil a series of dastardly plans hatched by his scheming foster brothers.

Wow! This has been one of the best dramas I have ever seen. Everyone did such a great job acting 👏🏻 very sad ending I wish they could have stayed together. The main leads had so much chemistry I hope they can come out in another drama together that would be amazing.

I cried an ocean😭😭.. Second time watching it and I have to say Darren Wang💕 had us going on every emotion he expressed as both Lord Bo and Wolfie🙌 excellent portrayal... Ji Chong hats off to you💖 I have never loved second leads like I do you... You were amazing amazing.... Xinger💘 I cried with you everytime that's how good u were.... I have laughed, loved, hate, and cried this series had me in an emotional roller coaster. I felt all of it!!! I have fall in love with Darreng Wang and hated him at the same time and Xing'er I have shed my tears with her it's crazy. Just beautifully done. How am I supposed to get over the ending? There has to be a second season and somehow bring Xing'er back to her Wolfie PLeaseeeeee!!! Bring her back they deserved to stay together after all they went through. I simply loved it and cant get over it. Just Beautiful.

Though Xiao Zhan and Darren Wang deserve the credit and applause for their performance, I thought Li Qin gave the most powerful performance. Her portrayal of the agony of despair and betrayal ripped my heart out. Message to Li Qin, your performance was rare for any drama. Thank you for moving my heart so much. Thank you for all who made this drama possible and thank everyone who brought this drama to the English speaking audience.

I would surely watch this entire movie from episode one to forty one spectacular even thought the ending wasn't what I was hoping for....but all good things must come to end😣😰😰
It took me to two days to recover from this series. The ending was intense. I think we couldnt guess how it would end till episiode 48. Thank you for uploading the episodes and more than anything thank you for the English subs. This was simply superb. Indeed if this was a really long movie, it would have been a standing ovation at the end. What wonderful acting by all the actors. I cannot think of any one character played out by anyone who didnt do a superb job. Excellent cinematography - one of the best I have seen, brilliant story line (ok.. some of it is slightly far-fetched but still) and all in all a wonderful, fantastic series. Great job. This deserves awards.. a lot of them.

l read somewhere the move was shelved for 3 years, the director said this was vey hard to shoot and no do period dramas again.... Glad it was a success and hope this changed his/her mind

I’m happy with how this ended as it was as good as possible under the circumstances. I realized that without being poisoned they might all be living under conventional restraints and trying to do what’s expected of them. Ironically the poison allowed them to realize what’s important and let them have some happiness. Also I loved how they didn’t waste their precious time on killing second brother but just casually flung a sword and then ignored him like the trash he was. What I liked about Lord Bo was how he straight forwardly delivered his words, because hate all the flowery language that comes with period dramas. I also liked his voice, it was deep and mellow and serious at the same time.
I’m here to nominate Darren Wang for Best Actor ,Li Qin for Best Actress and XiaoZhan for Best Suppoting Actor. They delivered their character brilliantly.Beyond amazing 🤩
You know a series is great, when the storyline keeps you invested. You know a show is amazing when it can pull so much emotion out of you and you don't speak the language. Love this show.
Well said!!!! This drama had put me through alot of emotions too and not a lot of drama can do that!!! Not all dramas have happy endings and I'm not complaining about this one because it was well played out throughout the whole drama!!!!

What a tragic but beautiful love story. I loved this drama more than I thought I would. All the actors did an amazing job. 10/10 for the storyline, actors, and music. I like that there was closure at the end. Everything was wonderful! ❤️
This drama is definitely in my top 3. My mom watched an episode with me and now she's watching it on her own. This drama appeals to viewers of all ages.
Some may hate me for saying this but, although I'm a huge Xiao Zhan fan and always will be, they should have put Darren Wang's and Li Qin's names before his because they were the two main leads. Maybe it's just on the youtube listing, I'm not sure, but that's how I feel. I know this will be on my list of dramas to rewatch. ❤️ 💖

A lot of people are wanting a season 2 but in my opinion it’s not worth it. Without Ma Zhai Xing in the story it’s not complete. The ending (in my opinion) was absolutely beautiful. Everybody is happy in their own way and that really made me shed happy tears. A beautiful drama, would for sure recommend it in the future!
There is a way to bring all the characters back but not as a continuance. I would greatly like to give my idea to the producers and it should work. I loved this series as well. This was my first time watching a chinese drama.
Please no season two - I couldn't go through all this again! All the lose ends have been tied up, not all happily, but would be a shame to unravel it all and start again.

@@ashlyn6966 Let's think logically. The great playwright Anton Chekhov wrote that every detail in your play should work for the story development (if you have a rifle on a wall in the first act - this rifle should fire in the last act of the play).
So, remember the third life-saving magic pill that was given to the 4th Prince by Bao Na's priest? Bao Na gave her own magic pill to Zhai Xing back when ZX was wounded by Ji Chong's asassins.
At the end, when Zhai Xing was mortally wounded fighting the 2nd evil prince, to save the 4th prince, do you think that the 4th would not safe his named sister and beloved friend Zhai Xing's life and would not give her his magic pill? I think he definely would and save her life.
Also, Lord Bo was supposed to take care of that little boy. So he did not really "retreat to the Wolf mountain, so nobody ever saw him after that". No. They lived there as a family, Wolfie, Zhai Xing, raising that boy, then they had a daughter, so we would have our Wolf-2 series about their children, and, possibly, another heroic love story 😉👍
Director Frankie Chen hinted about making Wolf-2, but she said then that she was too tired filming such a big costume drama in the beautiful but harsh environment of a Shangri-La plateu (most of the C-dramas are filmed in the pavillion). So there's definitely a hope for the story development.

Darren Wang brought to life Lord Bo's character in the most exceptionally real form.

Just finished this drama in 60 hours and I am emotionally empty. I went through an emotional roller coaster and I feel so heartbroken. Coming into this I had heard that it’s a tragic show and I expected them not to get their HEA. I didn’t expect it to be this good and I hung onto every word. I am not really into dramas but I really loved this one but I still wanted a happy ever after for them! I am so amazed by Darren Wang’s portrayal of Wolfie and Lord Bo because he is such a dynamic character and he nailed it. He totally embodied the whole entirety of this character inside and out. Now what do I do that it’s over? Help!
Have you watched Princess Agents.. it is just as beautiful!!! I watched it over 9 months ago and haven't been able to move on from it..it is or was my favorite series .. however I now have to say tha The wolf (see below for next comment)

I am English and live in New Zealand and I absolutely love these Chinese dramas.... now what to watch next..but I dont want to move on from this one just yet. 💞💞💞 I agree with all that you said. Darren Wang portrayed every conceivable emotion in the two roles and he did so with the utmost perfection. I will have to see more of him..💔🤦♀️🤷♀️

@@thatkpopsis I can honestly say that it will take me a while to move on from this.. I have just found the songs with english subtitles and the words are so breathtakingly beautiful and soulful. They make certain scenes seem even more sad. I am going to have to watch this drama again, knowing the words of the songs will be even more emotional... ohdear ...sorry for rambling on but I cant stop listening to the music

I have to come back & watch this last episode that was shown in small scripts. The ferocious look of LiQin as she goes for the kill after 2nd Prince makes her truly an actress! Darren, Wang, Xiao Zhan were spectacular in the portrayal of their characters. One of the best cdrama I've watched full of beautiful sceneries, costumes, drama that keeps you eager for the next episode. It was worth the wait. It maybe a sad enfing but who knows, both Wolfie & the Princess may have been immortalized in Wolf Hunt Mountain where they lived happily ever after.
Darren Wang deserves a standing ovation for his acting in the WF. He is simply spectacular as wolf boy/ Lord Bo. The whole cast, the director, and production team also deserves much love and praise. I hope to see DW again soon in other drama.👏👏👏👏

MZC has received so many critics all along this show, many were not deserved. But to me she is the best character. I love the way she changed, matured etc. Her ending broke my heart. Li Qin is a tremendous actress.
I finally got to watch this series again. It's even more better the second time around and cried even more as I understood more parts to the stories. To me, the ending Wolfie is still alive, living carefreely on Wolf Hunt Mountain. He kept his promise to Xing'er to live happy and carefree the rest of his life. The love they shared as Wolfie and Xing'er started with a strong bond with innocence and sentiment for each other. When they found each other as Princess and Lord Bo and fell in love again, their souls united but with circumstances they were wedged apart and hated each other. When Wolfie knew he had to go against Xing'er and cried "The world is so wide, why couldn't there be room for them". Finally we got to see what their love story looked like in the last few episodes as they got to live their carefree life as who they always wanted to be. For her to be taken away by sacrificing for him and the nation was deeply sad. Wolf would now always be alone, stubborn but he is free and can finally get to make his own decisions. The cast, crew, production was perfect. I love each role. If you really think about it, Wolf and Xinger was so loved and received loyalty by others close to them too like Ji Chong and Yao Ji. Wolf has gone through so much and was unable to express any of it. Even after being free from prison, but only through Xinger he was able to enjoy himself again. I really watched it this time for Wolf, his story is a silent one. I have to give TaLu a standing ovation. His role was complex from playing a boy raised by wolves, to the badass Lord Bo, and the sweet man to Xinger. For Talu to switch from sweet guy to badass, non-negotiable Lord Bo, and the end crying my eyes out along with Wolfie. I was amazed how his portrayal of the complex character. TaLu truly brought this character to the screens in such a talented way. Thank you. I will always have Wolfie and Xinger in my heart too!

Wang Talu's performance was out of this world. To say it was amazing is an understatement. The degree of difficulty in portraying LB-WB character cannot be underestimated. He nailed it every single time. Watching him was almost like watching a great gymnast landing perfectly after delivering a very difficult routine. Just wow!

What has thrown me off n whether he lived is the 4th prince said that after he lost his parter he went to be with her shortly thereafter but the you see him with the butterfly sooo I’m not sure
Thank you for this amazing show. Darren Wang is mesmerizing as the Wolf and Lord Bo. I sincerely hope he receives the recognition he rightly deserves. Li Qin portrayed a dedicated and honourable heroine that I could understand whether I watched in Chinese or dubbed in English. Xiao Zhan showed what a great talent he would become. Thank you again for this wonderful series.

This drama touched my heart.. it leave me sad, wanting to cry, happy and showing me a bit of what true love is.. thanks to the director, producer both actors and actresses they all done a great job.. This is my introduction to Darren Wang, and I must say the I am impress with his performance, so much I am searching for his previous work. I do hope to see more of his works in the near future. The way he can switch from being sweet, and adorable to being despicable, then be tender also protective to one he love the most, that, he deserve an academy award to say the lease! I wanted to both slap and kiss him at same time😂😂😏. And Xian is great as always, still looking pretty, trying to look rough and rugged, not quite there, cute rugged works for me though😏🤭😂..... The entire cast did a supreme job, from the writers, director, the production crew, make up artist, musician, wardrobe designers etc,etc,etc....I can enough how I really love this series, a sad of the ending but I can't get everything my way😂😂😂love, love, love it......ah music at the end is so beautiful ........I will be watch this one over and over...😊😊🥰

I'm tears How am I supposed to get through this series? I loved it, from the story, to the music and obviously such good acting work, in a way it is an expected ending, sad but original and in some way happy and at the same time nostalgic. I loved that they showed the story of each of the characters after time passed, once a wolf falls in love it will always be faithful and loyal, Ji Chong and Bao Na are precious and deserve to be happy too, Yao Ji changed for the better and what the story told by the fourth brother is really very beautiful. Thankful for this great story and to this channel for allowing international fans to enjoy the content.

I don't think Ji Chong had a happy ending, but at least he knew he made choices with integrity and sacrificed his love for Ma Zing Er as the ultimate gift of love he could give her.
Wang Talu portrayed his character here exceptionally well. Along with his facial expressions & bright cheeky smiles, I hope to see him take on more lead roles. This drama overall, cast & crew, along with everyone else involved, is on the list as one of my favourites. Well done.
This is the first Chinese series I have watched and it won't be the last. This has been an outstanding series on many different levels. The direction, cinematography, choreography, music score and songs, costumes and make-up were first class. The script writing was excellent with well-developed characters and the actors really embraced their roles completely. Well done to the entire cast and crew for such an incredible production. A big thank you to MZTV for providing subtitles for the English speaking audience.

Personally, I could have done with a little less emoting between the main couple and fewer flashbacks. But was very impressed by FL, who must have cried gallons in the course of filming, I don't know how she produces tears so readily and her eyes never go red, her nose never runs and she continues to look beautiful - that's professional!

(beware of the spoilers) It was a long ride but everything comes to an end. Xing Er (Li Qin) was marvelous in the fighting scene, she looked like a she wolf and her stare could kill. A true match for Wolfie. I'm happy they showed us what all characters did after what happened (Hai Die and MO Xiao were lovely, Ji Chong and Bao Na too, and Yao Ji... She completely changed. She's healed now) , and I loved they showed a butterfly flying around them who represented Xing Er. I also liked that the final scenes were told by the Fourth Brother who told the tale of Wolfie and Xing Er. Once a wolf finds a mate, he will always be loyal and faithful to her. And so Lord Bo disappears. I like to imagine that their story continues in another world. I'd like to thank all the people who worked on this drama for their effort and for this great job, especially the actors who were amazing, and I'd like to thank this channel too for allowing us international fans to watch the drama

I came for Xiao Zhan but Darren Wang blew me away. He was so intense with his expressions and body language that he won me over. Let's not forget that smile of his either...sigh....
Best actors, all of them best for their roles, best drama and love story, wish they had more time together, watched it 5 times, nothing can top this yin/yang ‘love/redemption/.truth story, Darren wang is the ultimate man in this role, depth of emotions and grown up man masculine to the core , but sensitive and loving all at same time. Nothing will ever be as good as this show for me now, am going back to reading or watching the wolf again x

This to me has to have been the most moving drama I’ve ever seen. I have been in xingers shoes this whole time feeling everything she felt. All the love for wolfie that temporarily turned to hate and the shear terror she felt at times when she faced lord bo. All the torment she felt at his hands then happiness when she finally got wolfie back. I felt all those things and I cried with her. It will take me awhile for my heart to get over this series. I would like to find a way to buy this for me to keep and watch again and again for years to come

Worthy of special mention is Darren Wang's superb performance - his on-screen presence is simply commanding and compelling.
His excellent portrayal of the innocent wolf boy and the cold, ruthless and warm prince Bo certainly carried the show. Yet
Darren's flawless acting did not overshadow that of other 2 leads. Li Qin & Sean Xiao were equally excellent in their performance, all
three leads complement each other in their portrayal of the characters whose lives were dictated by politics and human frailty.
I think they are worthy of award recognition. Also worthy of mention is the great soundtrack, the rap element in the opening
theme is, I think, so appropriate as we witness the lives of the 3 young leads and the support roles going through political
upheavals with the desire to win and stay alive. Thank you all 🌹😍🌹

I am speechless. this drama was perfect. honestly I am satisfied with the ending. the plot developed in a way that a happy ending would've not been very realistic so I think the ending is good even though I am very heartbroke. and I have to admit that I am very happy fo Ji Chong, he did the right thing by keeping Bao Na next to him, I would love to see a second season revolving around their journey
Thank you for this series, I enjoyed it very much. Sometimes it was so heartbreaking that I forgot watching only a show. I waited for the release of this series two years because of Xiao Zhan. Darren Wang I didn't know till then but he is a great actor and was perfect for the role as Lord Bo . The story was magnificent and all the other actors, too.

I watched this show twice already, and i'm going to watch it again. I can't move on from this amazing story and actors. Especially Darren Wang, gorgeous, talented, and a breathtaking lord Bo/Wolfie. Nobody but him could play this character, du to his natural magnetism. I totally fell for him and hope many futurs movies and dramas starring him.

Great story & well casted! (roller-coaster of emotions)! Tho such a sad ending! Talu Wang/Darren Wang is perfect for this role. His expression are so fierce and wild and very expressive with every emotions e.g the way he switches between lord Bo & wolfie. I hope to see more of his upcoming dramas! Also loved the ost!
Thank you MZTV for giving us the opportunity to watch this drama outside of China! I really enjoyed it. I admit being a bit perplexed about the screenwriting towards the middle (but I remain convinced that the director had to cut A LOT because of censorship), but the ending was just right.
Sad but feels ok to me, every plotline has been tied up, and the main couple's tragedy is meaningful in bringing peace and redemption to everyone else. Setting the end like a fairytale is also the best solution and the ending song is just perfect, eerie and sad but sweet like the memory of the two innocent young characters. All the actors were great, and the natural sceneries really breathtaking. I'm so happy I got to watch this! :)

This is one of the best Chinese shows. It's my favorite. The chemistry between these two actors with great. Especially when he had her with the bow and arrow saying you trying to make me jealous and he pulled her back. And the tying with the belts. The ending was sad and I literally cried my eyes out. I just wish she didn't have to die.

This is all because of his step dad🤦🏼♀️ If only he told MZ the whole truth that Wolfie is still alive from the start, none of this tragedy and all heartbreaks will happen. But because of this Wolfie found a loyal friends and 2 brothers that really loved him and treated him as a real brother. I feel bad for JC🥺 all he do is save MZ in every danger and help her but at least they got married even though their marriage didn’t last that long. (Hey JC let’s get married instead! 😂❤️) For me this is one of my best C-drama that I’ve watched. I really love all the characters in this story and I also love the plot and twists. I just feel sad in the ending because MZ died and they didn’t grow old together and have a lot of children 👶😂 but anyway not all stories have a happy ending like fairytales💔 Wolfie is so handsome! I fell in love with him because he’s loyal, kind, smart, strong, and also the way he smiles at you😍 I wish I can find someone like him in real life🥺 . Hopefully there’s a season 2! I’m gonna wait for it😭🤞🏻 THIS IS THE BEST C-DRAMA FOR ME! I will score it 10/10!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

My heart is broken, I know how Wolfie/Lord Bo feels, as my beloved husband passed over 3 and a half years ago, he fought well but cancer won, their last scene was so moving, I held my husbands hand and told him "it's okay to go, let go of the pain now and go meet your Mum, Dad and our Son, they are waiting to welcome you".. I miss him everyday and will love him eternally.. We shall meet again on ''Our Wolf Mountain' and look for his beloved Brass Bands, Butterflies and Rainbows..

This was truly an awesome drama and the music selection fit this drama to a tee. All cast members played their parts awesomely especially the main characters they really outdid themselves. Too bad it had to end, it was really an enjoyable drama. I would recommend watching it ❤👍👍.

Hay though I'm late at this drama dance, it better late than ever. I looked at this drama back to back enjoying it even much more on my second viewings.

This is one of the best drama I have seen! I can feel their emotions and feeling through TV screens; hoping they would be together with a happy ending. Bo loving Xing'er so much and how his love was always been loyal to her. I cried almost ever episode after the 2nd one and its been days since I have watch this and still I can feel it in my heart just thinking about the story. Perhaps they can do another movie or drama future and bringing them to a happy ending. Bravi!!!
When the second season will start I would love to have princess Ma Z. /Xing Er comes back even as Spritual guide to wolfie. I don’t speak Chinese but I love their drama of love stories. I old live drama stories I would love to see the Chinese love stories has second seasons. All the actors are great. Love it.

UGH, I have rewatched this drama, this is sooo good. Such an epic love story - the leads (Darren Wang and Li Qin have killed it!). Xiao Zhan is good too, but I think DarrenW and LiQ made this movie. The only other drama that was an epic love story to me is "Legend of Condor Hero, the original". This drama was SOOO good!
