    So Lorne got kicked out because he was too much- you put him in a sanctuary. A fucking sanctuary? Are you serious? People like you are the reason wolfdogs get a bad name- people get them and drop them off when they get to be too much. If the friends were the issue then why kick out an animal who has been with you for YEARS? Then just to get another wolfdog with bite history? You’re despicable.

    • @camelsandfriends
      @camelsandfriends  5 лет назад +151

      No he was not too much. My friends needed a place to stay that year and I was not going to have them live with a wolf and get hurt or possibly killed. Period. Sorry my human friends had to come first. Lorne is perfectly healthy and happy. I could get him back now that they are gone, but for what reason? To upset him and take him away from his stable pack?
      Stop thinking about you and try thinking about the animal.
      You are clearly a selfish person and are humanizing animals. Caring for animals is about what is best for them and I can promise you that Lorne is not longing for me in some romantic bullshit way right now. I can guarantee you that.
      The thing I am wondering is why you are getting so riled up over your own possible feelings toward losing an animal you never had in the first place?
      Where is the actual wolf in this picture? Wherever you feel most content, I guess.
      Sorry but I don't get it and I doubt you'll bother to respond.

    • @CinnBreed
      @CinnBreed 5 лет назад +514

      If your human friends are always going to come first then why even have the animals? They didn’t know how to live with Lorne and there was absolutely no way to teach them or give them boundaries to co-exist together? You obviously don’t seem to get that ripping him away from his pack now is similar to you passing him off to a sanctuary. You raised him from a pup- you were the “constant” in his life. I highly doubt being in a new environment without something he was familiar with made him 100% comfortable at first. Then you get an unverified wolfdog with a bite history. What’s gonna happen to this one when you have friends that need a place to crash? You don’t seem to understand the negative impact you’re making on wolfdogs as a whole and yes I’m disgusted by it. I will not apologize for not giving up on my animals when shit hits the fan when I made the decision to take them in, in the first place. Do I think Lorne is better off in a sanctuary? YES! Do I think you should continue working with wolfdogs? NO!

    • @CinnBreed
      @CinnBreed 5 лет назад +320

      Also I’m riled up even though I didn’t own Lorne, because YOUR DECISIONS DO EFFECT OTHER WOLFDOG OWNERS. Your teaching effect us! Your videos- good or bad- EFFECT ALL OF US!
      All it takes is one owner to mess up and BAM! Statewide ban! Why take on a wolfdog with bite history if you couldn’t take on Lorne when things got tough?

      She literally said that it was her FRIENDS that couldn't handle Lorne, not her.
      As in, her friends moved in (and we don't know for what reason, so let's reserve judgement before we get a definitive answer there) and because Lorne is a wild animal, they didn't have the experience to deal with him properly and didn't feel safe, so she didn't have any choice but to send him away.

    • @TheMemeRepository
      @TheMemeRepository 4 года назад +18

      Upon further investigation, she was charged with animal cruelty and neglect, so it seems that a lot of the fears presented in this comment section were valid. She's taken down her website, deleted her facebook and even changed name legally.
      That being said, I still stand by there being overreactions in certain areas. From my completely novice perspective, I still think that if a friend has no choice but to stay with you and you have a dangerous wild animal, you should probably make sure the animal is off the property and a lot of people didn't seem to realise that Lorna was more or less a pure wolf and not a wolfdog. I think that if valid accusations are going to levied against someone, it's important to get the facts straight. I acknowledge that maybe there was later evidence revealed about Lorne being a wolfdog and not a wolf that I'm not aware of, but if that is the case, I think some of the people commenting here need to specify that in the event that someone reads their comments and dismisses anything valid they have to say on the basis of a commonly held misconception. We don't people continuing to defend this woman, it's best to get all the facts straight about her and her animals.
      Speaking for myself, when I left my previous comment, I was mainly going off what was presented in this video. I only found out about animal cruelty when I switched to looking at the most recent comments left. I am not an avid follower of this woman by any means and only watched a few wolf videos before realizing that she had stopped posting them after a little while, so I was curious about what happened. To me (someone with no real expertise in the field of owning wolves or any exotic animal) it seemed more than reasonable for someone to move their animal to a sanctuary if they have friends that needed to stay with them for an extended period of time (about a year, I believe). I didn't have proper context, which led me to give much more of the benefit of the doubt than I otherwise would have, as I try not to join the mob against someone without sufficient evidence to warrant it, which I have now discovered there is. Indeed, what I perceived to be an unusually high amount of negativity in this comment section did lead me to investigate further and finding the truth, so let it never be said that harsh criticism never gets postive results.
      I've opted to leave this comment as opposed to deleting my last one because I don't really see any point hiding that I made a mistake. I'd rather this be a learning moment rather than a hiding moment. I'm human and make mistakes, and I honestly have more respect for people who do own up to that, rather than panicking and deleting the evidence.

Buttermilk was scared and did not know how to react because his energy was so high, and all you did was laugh at the situation. You dont know the body language of the fullt domesticated dog you already have, so I suggest you educate yourself on simple dog behavior instead of jumping right into getting a fucking wolfdog. Dont get any more wolfdogs, and give Bear to a proper, educated owner instead of being selfish. You cannot handle a wolfdog at all, especially one with a BITE HISTORY and dog aggression. You had to get rid of your first wolfdog with no bite history, so why the fuck do you think you could handle one with a bite history?? Look at the face shape, and ears. Especially the stubby legs, tail, and thighs. ( Shepherds’ back legs are a huge giveaway. ) The muzzle also has the same anatomy as a German Shepherd. If it was given to you by people who couldn’t handle it, it’s likely that it’s just a dog. This youtuber also has a history of lying to everyone, ( Lorne was a gift from family according to her earlier vids... The biggest giveaway is, as you say, the ears (way too big for a wolf or a wolf-hybrid) and the you said the legs but in I think what you mean is the hips. GSD have a rounded down hip at the lower back that has been their main health issue due to overbreeding, generally yes their legs are also more "bent" or round you could say, as a wolf has their joints far higher up (used for long trotting).

      I do not agree by any means that wolves and dogs have a behavior 'closer' to humans. Closer than what? Domesticated dogs of course mimic a lot of human characteristics and have evolved to read our social cues, adjust to our moods and respond to unnatural commands. Wolves on the other hand are something complete and separate from anything human.
      Alpha theory is outdated. It has been disproven. I do not think Lorne considered me his mother, as he was bottle raised by another care taker at the North Georgia zoo.
      He does not think of himself as abandoned. Abandonment is a human affliction and does not belong in the animal kingdom. Lorne is not a dog. He is happy. You are unhappy at the emotional impact of his loss on your life-- and you do not even own him. Trust me, he does not care.

      dragoon650 " Julius Robert Oppenheimer, who is also known as Alex Warnock, was placed on one year of unsupervised probation and ordered to pay a $300 fine after pleading guilty to two counts of cruelty to animals and one count each of failure to provide an animal with potable water, failure to provide medical attention and cruel neglect or abandonment.
      Oppenheimer, who was featured on the Animal Planet channel in 2013, has been investigated twice this year on suspicion of animal neglect. In February, two camels escaped from her property west of Sahuarita twice within a week.
      The charges she pleaded guilty to Friday were filed after authorities seized an emaciated horse from her property after neighbors reported Oppenheimer had not been seen for a few days and her animals had no water.
      Last month Pima County Sheriff’s Detective Ted Noon said the seized horse was "making excellent progress" and Oppenheimer has found homes for her other animals.
      Oppenheimer legally changed her name in January from Alexander Dirac Robert Warnock to Julius Robert Oppenheimer."

    I think the best thing you could have done for Lorne was give him away bc, no offense, but you don't seem as though you are the right person to own a wolfdog. What if your friends need help again or something else happens? Animals rely on us to be their family and a stable source. Maybe I'm crazy and I see my animals as my children but if friends (not even blood relatives) need a place to stay and I have to abandon or give away my animals for that, I'm a shitty person.
    The problem was you failed Lorne. You could not manage him and let him get away with too much til it was too late. You preached on how certain people shouldn't own them bc they are a lot of work and require sacrifice yet you bailed on him and then you get ANOTHER baby.

I've worked at shelter and seen the amount of abandoned animals that were dumped once they already formed a bond with their owners. Many times, there are reasons written in for why they are abandoned. MOST of the reasons we at the shelter saw included:
      1. Cannot handle him/her
      2. Too aggressive
      3. Divorce
      Every single one of those poor babies look so lost and heartbroken. It made me happy to distract them if even for an hour.
      I quit when one of the scared pups, a beautiful eskimo girl (dumped from a divorce) reacted defensively to a little girl sticking her finger in the pup's cage and the shelter decided to put her down. I wanted to adopt her bc despite them claiming she was aggressive, I went in the cage with her and sat with her and she nuzzled her nose into my arms as I held her. SHE WAS SHAKING!!! They refused to wait til I could come up with the money which would have only been a week. A WEEK!!! That haunts me to this day. Half the shelters that claim they are for animals rights are not.
      Imagine from the animal's pov being dumped at a place with constant crying and distressed dogs and being able to constantly smell the death of other dogs. It made me to f--ing sick to my stomach.

    Hi so this might sound really werid but we had what we thought was a mixed breed dog, but after seeing you wolf, and your wolfs behaviour, im almost positive he was either a wolf or a wolfdog. His name was major and back then the dogs in my community were allowed to roam freely without owners and he came to us because he was "owned" by a neighbour who knew our family were experienced with dogs and he couldnt control him. Major would destroy that guys house so he would let him come and go as he pleased. In the community Major was the definite Alpha and all the dogs would submit to him. Also he was huge and looked just like the wolf you had same markings except is fur was slightly longer and the whitish collar was more pronounced. So the neighbour asked my family to take him and we "trained him" as much as possible, basically we made sure he was bottom of the pack in our house but just like that video of your wolf wanting to go inside he was stubborn, determined and a real challenge. We tried not to let him out on his own as the dog wardens had already spotted him and he had been called a cat killer, but whenever he got the chance he would be gone, during one time he got loose it turned out he had jumped a wall and got into the yard of a lady who had a hige brown female dog and mated with her. Major was their 3 days and the lady said he was so aggressive he wouldnt let her in the yard. She heard through the community we were looking for him and we went to pick him up, he greeted us just like your wolf excited then when grabbed by the scruff straight to submissive. It just shocked me so much when i saw your wolf i though id share. Oh and he never liked to walk on a lead he would take the lead from your hand and walk in front of us, to and from the fields on "walks", he also was never trained to defend us but the aggression i saw from him when a group of youths tried to start trouble one day actually scared me, no one was hurt mainly because he was on a lead and they ran away( behaved submissive). He was never submissive around food literally took a barm cake out my mouth one day. But he lived with us until he was 12 and passed away with us by his side. He was my buddy, but always had to keep one eye open, unlike my other dogs who i could trust completly. Hope you enjoy reading my little spontaneous post ha ha take care

    Good riddance though, she didnt deserve Lorne, and now she's gotten what was coming to her with all her animal abuse and "wolfdogs are dangerous, unlovable animals" nonesense. She treats her dog like a wild animal and gets shocked when it acts like a wild animal, before replacing him with another wolf dog who has bite history. Utter stupidity

    A wolf is wolf he will bite and if he gets uncomfortable with other dogs he can easily kill a doberman or labrador. If I would have much space for wolf or wolf dog I would own some horses or some good trainable dogs and have fun with friends and family rather that owning a wolf dog. And yes if you really want to help those wolfs then please keep them where they came from open in wild.

    Mistreated, "Can't have a pet wolf dog as a pet because you can't treat your pet as a pet because it's animal abuse" So you neglect it? Which is literal animal abuse? You don't play, allow your wolf dog to exercise, you don't feed him? You don't take care of him, show affection? How would any of those be considered as animal abuse.

    Breeders and owners often use percentages to describe - and put a price tag on - their wolfdogs, but these estimations are grossly misleading because there is no way to control or determine which genes are inherited and expressed in their animals. The science of genetics just doesn’t work that way. As a result, there is a great deal of unpredictability in looks and behavior between individuals.🐺🐾
    Due to their high intelligence and social complexity, wolves and wolfdogs can be extremely restless and bored (resulting in destructive and compulsive behaviors). They are usually hyper-sensitive to their environment and far more reactive to negative stimuli than domestic dogs. They are also extremely agile and strong, and they are skilled jumpers, diggers, and climbers, making them difficult to contain. Wolves and wolfdogs have a strong prey drive that cannot be controlled through human commands, and any small running creature can be seen as prey to the animal - rabbit, cat, or child. They are also extremely territorial which can result in hyper-vigilant resource guarding.🐺🐾
    🐺🐾

    Why did she just get another wolf-dog, after putting the other dog in a sanctuary? I get if you find out you can’t “handle” a species once, but why would you get another creature of that species? Even giving up a pet once is too much, but I’m giving people who must do this the benefit of the doubt. If you can’t handle a species once, don’t get it again.

      Whatever happened, she provoked the attack.

    You should look into training your dogs especially your wolfdogs. Mine is around my kids and farm animals. An untrained dog is recipe for disaster. Wolfdogs will absolutely have agression and will resource guard which involves training. Your making excuses for your dogs agression because of his wolf content. I train my dogs the same (wolf hybrid and regular dog) they both know recall as well and when I say release it means release whether it be meat or anything their chewing on.
