- This is a 1995 Porsche 911, or what is called the 993, the last air-cooled 911 made. It was introduced in North America in 1995 and was sold until 1998. This example is a first year 1995 Carrera base model with 18-inch twist wheels, Fister stage 2 exhaust, KW Variant 3 coil over suspension, a unique Continental radio and full power seats.

There are sport cars which never look old. The Porsche 993 is one of them
Agreed, the most beautiful 911 ever produced
Timeless beauty
Still one of the best shapes
In my top 5 cars 😘
Super clean 993. Yes, the most beautiful Porsche. Drive that baby!
I've a 1996 993 C2. Iris blue metallic. 60,000 miles and runs like a Swiss watch.
That's one of the most desirable colors for 993. Cheers.
Nick Murray might be second guessing his cabriolet purchase, Way to go Zack ! 🤣 Vroom vroom !
Which 25 year old sports car has the same amount of driving qualities like such a 993 Porsche 911 in 2020? The answer: NO OTHER spors car! The 993 will never get old... It sounds amazing and rides absolutely fantastic with its KW chassis. Yes, it's a time capsule!
Thanks, Zack. I enjoyed your review. I still own a 1996 993 C2 sunroof coupe, Guards Red over Black. Great car. I have been in the Rennsport Region (Ottawa) of PCA since 1984 and this is my 7th Porsche. You are right, the modern cars may be more technically advanced and more powerful, but it it hard to beat the classic sound and feel of the older air-cooled 911's. That is why they have become sought after collector cars.
Bot my 993 Targa new in 1997 and still in the garage. I agree with everything you said. I always thought it was the peak for the 911 old school. Everything they learned they put into this car for an air cooled. Every time I jump and and drive it gets me all happy. So light, quick and agile. Got plenty of power. And the look of the rear end is mind blowing. None better. Perfect curves. Thanks for the review. Made my day.
Can't loose buying one of these, appreciation. Timeless & beautiful shape. #bighips
I owned a 993RS.. the real thing! Maintained by Manthey racing in Germany, she produced 330HP instead of 300 in the stock RS, lightweight flywheel, steel gearbox synchro, Recaro racing seats. Given the lightweight of the car at 1218kgs, it could be felt during acceleration. FABULOUS CARS
The last one hand made, air cooled, the real 911: 993🥰🥰🥰
Loving these blast from the past reviews. They don’t make em like they used to!
"Like a man looking at the beautiful woman". So true!!!!!
Believe it or not I have taken an adults in the back many times .. however the front passenger has to move seat forward to make room..😁
This is my Hero 911. I wish I had a chance to purchase one. I was too young to buy one when they're new, and now that i'm older, they're just hard to find.
And expensive
They’re out there though
@@Motormouth... Though at ~80K CAD it seems reasonable for what one's getting given the obvious care and good sense of the previous owner. I prefer the styling base 993s because the curves are more subtle. Someday....
@@treewasher This is cheap for 80k
In Australia it would be close to 200k
In Europe to would be a bargain
My favourite 911. The design is superb. The newer models are nice but too big. Yes the dash is basic but but still likeable. The driving position is fabulous. I owned a 993 Targa and I always regret selling it. The engine keeps spurring you on. It is just such an exciting car to drive!
My fav 911 ever!!!
I always thought that 993 was the pinnacle of the 911 and the whole Porsche brand. Sure they got faster and more advanced but this (and of course the 70-80s models and 964 too) were the last genuine Porsches.
I have the C4 Narrow Body with the same colors as your revierwed car. I've registered over 250K miles on it and still love it as the day I purchased it. It's basically stock, but lowered with Bilstein, upgraded radio, 996 three-spoke steering wheel and Fister 3s. I love this car and will never sell it. Your review is point on.
👍🏼I got my 993C4S also brand new&went to Stuttgart to pick it up still have it&running strong definitely a keeper
993, pure Porsche...
I’ve my 993 since The end of 1993, one of the first in production. 6 manual gear, rear traction: The best combination. You’re absolutely right, she’s the best 911 design, the ultimate real 911. I love her.
993 is definitely the best looking 911...especially the turbo!!! 😍😍😍
I agree!!
1997/1998 993S models turbo body without the turbo high maintenance
Nice but bland in the performance department ..... I've owned the 4s and now the Turbo ..... The turbo is far and beyond much more fun.
Sorry, but you are an idiot! "Bland" certainly isn't the right term for the performance of such a 25 years old classic "base" 911 Carrera.
To compare it with the 993 Turbo, which is still a little monster even for todays standards, is even more fucking stupid... How old are you???
Hey, little schoolboy and keyboard warrior: this is a classic and light sports car, which you don't understand, with a decent amount of naturally aspirated engine power and with nothing but a perfect chassis, which is still absolutely perfect today, even compared with modern sports cars.
You are a dumb trashtalker and you don't understand the classic "PORSCHE formula" at all, buddy!
This is an amazing sports car and will be an all time classic!
It hit me this year my 97 just turned 25. My 95 is 27. It's weird to think. Thanks for the review, great car to drive and absolutely a purist's car.
Beautiful POV. i love my 88 928 S4 but lord the 993 is my next dream
This car looks absolutely gorgeous!
Enjoyable video. I wholeheartedly concur with all your comments although I point out that 1998 was the last production year of the 993. Reportedly, not many 1998s were manufactured as the factory was retooling for the 996, I have a 1997 C2 Cabriolet that I purchased in 2000. Fully optioned including factory paint to match Ferrari yellow. First owner paid out the wazoo for all the accessories. Just turned 40,000 miles and in excellent plus condition. Gorgeous car! And one of the few cars that I've owned that has appreciated in value.
Loving my 96 993 cab black/black. Got it 2 months ago, could've bought a nice used 991 for the same price but no regrets at all. If I didn't live in sunny southern calif, would've gone for the coupe though.
Zak this is MINT, MINT, MINT, but mine is the 964
Any Porsche air cool enthusiast should drive once of the 993 turbo, or lucky enough, a 993 turbo S. They are THE best of the best.
Wow, just wow. That is a stunning example.
I recently purchased a 1995 with 35K miles. Just to look at it in the garage is almost worth the price of admission,
That radio ia awesome I installed it in my 944.2 4 years ago, it looks absolutely OEM in 944.2/968/964/993.
I also installed it on my MB 1999 W140 chassis and it looks like it came from the factory with it. It fits so many cars from the 90s era.
7:10
Fister opens them up.
I bought my 96Targa in 2003 and it's still in the garage. The car comes alive at about 4400rpm, when the Varioram engine comes to life. I call it the Rebel Yell, and when you approach traffic from the rear, they all move over just a bit. It sounds like paper tearing and is hell on flying insects. Beyond that it corners as if on rails and stops on a dime, whaat's not to love?
ergonomic nightmare ? good luck with that opinion…
all switches give you a tactile feedback so you dont need to look at them.
That is an early 1995; it has the basket handle. All 1995s had Cup 2 wheels instead of the Turbo Twists. Also at 3:40, if you let the oil drain fully from both the engine and oil tank, it holds 11.5 liters of oil.
You are a car enthousiast, it shows, especially in the tunnels !! Keep it up
The interior description was spot on.👍🇨🇦
Really enjoy these videos. You talk about the engine, the suspension, the driving - not the infotainment system! Keep it up!
I wouldn't even want a radio if I could listen to a Porsche motor making music behind me.
what a classic beauty!
I have never liked those "hand basket" rear spoilers.
Ha ha the Germans a hard guys becsuse this we need hard Suspension when we drive with 300 over Autobahn
These 993s are amazing, love this 👍👍
Beautiful car but when we're talking asses, f type has to be mentioned! Lol.
At the point when you refine a design and ideally, you should stop!
Corcars is a great company. We are lucky to have them in here in BC.
It was great to watch a review from someone who is truly passionate about the 993s. As s Porsche owner, clearly, you know what you are talking about. My ‘87 looks so classic, but it also looks so much more dated... when compared to the 993. That is... until you get in the inside. Other than the updated heating system, it pretty much looks the same. But I prefer the updated exterior look. Thanks for such a great review.
87 is a nice car, simple and classic
Love my car!
993 96 cab c4
Does anybody know where this tunnel is in Vancouver? Thanks!
You said it, Zack " Soul and Presence that can't be Replicated " all that's missing is beautiful Andrea in the passenger seat. 993 best Porsche ever did .
True that
It's absolutely beautiful
11:35 took a good look at it
Great review. Would add that 993 has a direct Metal connection between the stick shift and transmission. So you can FEEL the heartbeat of the engine. Also 1995s have OBD1 and so u can run with no flywheel which frees up the RPMs and improves throttle-reponse quite a bit. Can’t do that with OBD2 as it throws codes and stalls. Billstein B16 suspension and slightly lower ROW springs works great.
Going thru the tunnel.....again....lol
4S in my garrage
great review, thanks!
Wow I would love to get that one! Do they ship to Dallas?
I'm trying to figure out where you were driving :) Looks like North Shore somewhere near the cut.... looking for a fun Sunday drive on a smokey day. Love the 993 and the unique, throaty sound... but while I wait, loving my 981s!
At 5:15, new modern radio with navigation ... what about a backup camera? At 7:01 Fister stage 2 muffler. At 8:20, the KW coil-over "variant 3" kit.
Great review Zack!
Love my 98 C2S I purchased it new October 97 and sold it to my best friend in 2000 and before he passed away last year he said I want you to have your car back, I am a Blessed man.
An excellent presentation, as usual; free from gimmicks - like the 993 itself. The 993 reminds me of BMW E46-series in that while there have been better *cars* over the years from the marque, there are have been few better representations. Give me idiosyncrasies all day over soulless capabilities.
hi, i'm wondering what the car costs in the usa? Im from Sweden.
Thanks
Marcus
The start around $70,000 for a nice one.
@@Motormouth... thank you!
Thank you for this review. Always enjoy your videos. I just negotiated a deal on a 96 993 C2 and this video just makes me more excited. It is 100% stock. One of the first things I may do is upgrade the exhaust. Looking forward to ownership.
Get Fister stage II exhaust. Sounds amazing!
@@Motormouth... Thank you! I'll check it out for sure.
Motor oil reservoir is 11,5 ltr./ 2,53 gal. But for changing 9 liters might be sufficient.
Well done Motormounth, agree the 993 is epic & the best looking 911, for me the 9932S is the ultimate
Wow! A Canadian automotive journalist! Never thought I'd see the day
Great video! Do you find the clutch is positioned slightly inward towards the center console, like the 85 model? Thx
I thought the 4, GTS and turbo were the only wide body models - did he not say the 2s was wide body ?
11:27 11:28 I can understand that feeling, how lucky you are with this wonderful Porsche
The Indianapolis pro with amber screen is the one you need. 👍
Bought My 1995 993 in 2014, Great Deal Love it.
Headlamps were updated too?
Just three months ago i sold my 1985 911 g-modell and got a 1993 993....nothing to regret.
Me want. :-)) Gotta check out Cornelius' inventory.
Thanks for the thorough review. I really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent review 👍
If I only had enough $$$
The most sexyest Porsche ever built hands down.
Great vid and cars 😊☕🍩
how many is 1000-7?
I have had a C2 in Midnight Blue in the UK for 15 years. Will never sell it! The main points I would add are that the build quality is fantastic, so very little ever goes wrong. Driven mine down to Italy a coupe of times and never had the slightest concern about it. Also, the car changes character dramatically over 4000 revs. It suddenly comes alive and feels amazing on a fast curvy road. You just have to be a bit careful in the wet! Get one, they are awesome!
Thanks for the info!
Zack, if these air cooled 911s are so thrilling, stimulating, invigorating and so intoxicating, why did you sell your's ?
I had two of them over 10 years and kind of got it out of my system. I have so many cars that I drive during the year that it really sat that most of the time. It was a lot of money to have tied up in a car that I didn't really Drive
Congrats on the video. Nice complementary info, very useful extras not covered yet by others. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice condition indeed. May i know how much it is?
09:58 No heel and toe blip throttle double-clutch to downshift? 🤔
Looks much better than 992.
This is a dream car! Here's to wishing. 😥
I bet viewers would really be interested to know more about your automobile ownership history. Perhaps you can launch a separate channel called More Motormouth and focus on non-automotive review videos.
It might be a good video to do, the cars I've had.
Excellent review by the way 👍👍
The last Iconic Gem.
Last air-cooled first rear independent suspension..hence why it gave yaw at the pendulum like sway that it did
All 911s have independent rear suspension!!!! 993 was the first MULTI LINK setup!!!😁😁😁😁😁🚘🚘🚘🍺🍺🍺
Thankyou for sharing your experience as a previous owner.
Thanks for watching
Awesome! Good find on the tunnel!
Yes indeed!
Tunnels and 993s are a perfect match 👂
It's weird that a 25-year-old car is now considered vintage and this is regarded as a perfectly kept 'time capsule'. I'm 34 and I don't think I'm vintage lol 🤣. I am, however, a perfectly kept time capsule. 😉
The problem is you blink and you are 40. How did that happen.
@@Motormouth... I KNOW - it's crazy fast how time flies.
@@Motormouth... I blinked and I was 66
Perfection never ages 😏
