See..anytime someone from the world of cosmetology claims ‘facts’ for ‘all hair types’ I’m so skeptical lol. I feel like whatever they’re claiming is a coin toss for type 4 hair. So ‘not needing heavy stylers’ is right up there with ‘all hair should be detangled dry, because wet is weaker’....like 🤷🏾‍♀️ ...experience says otherwise lol

I use lotta body mousse and Camille rose milk leave in for twist outs and I get great results. I think it depends a lot on what you put under the mousse.

The Design Essentials mousse is it!! Had my twist out so defined and boucy (I have 4b/4c hair)! I use it with a leave in (Shea moisture jbco) and a liiiitle bit of cream (curl enhancing smoothie or tgin butter cream) under it.

I love doing twist outs with mousse. Couple things to get good results, don’t over work the mousse in the hair ,and use a moisturizer before applying the mousse. The best one on the market hands down is The Doux, Most Def .... it’s conditioning as well

I've used creme of nature mousse or lottabody setting lotion for a twist out, but I have to pair it with a gel. I don't use thick creams or butters because they make my hair greasy. I don't use curl box, I only use a few products.

I honestly use a mousse every time I do a flat twist out and get amazing results. But.... I always use a leave in and twisting cream under for optimal results. I use either the Nairobi or the doux. It helps my twist out last longer than if I only use a cream. The mousse gives it an added boost. Mousse alone is too light for our hair type.

Mousse and leave In Conditioner is all I use for twist outs I get long lasting definition. Defining creams make my twist outs frizzy I stopped using them a long time ago. I have fine hair so that’s probably why it works for me. I think coarse hair need something with a little more moisture (ie) defining creams.

The brush sound when you detangle is terrifying loool 🤣🤣🤣 I can feel my hair breaking when I hear it, and I have a twa lol. Never tried mousse but to me, it's just to replace gel, if you want light hold. It does not moisturize and probably don't work very well on thick hair strands.

I did theeee exact same thing you did a couple weeks ago (used Mielle honey and pom leave in). I loved the look and feel when it dried, but when I separated it looked just like yours did. I just pulled it in a high puff for a couple days. I agree I think maybe a butter after the leave in may work but I just wanted to see what the products did on their own. Literally the same results though. Your hair and my hair must be twins lol

Maybe try again with a moisturizing shampoo so that the entire base of the style begins with moisture . I’ve seen a few mouse twist outs that were poppin but full disclosure none on mostly 4c hair so I think the leavin would have to be heavier to compensate and then probably seal with an oil.

HELP, IM SO LOST! So when I do the float test, if I just drop a strand in the water, it floats BUT if I push it to break the 'surface tension' it sinks with in 5seconds. When I take a small section and spray my hair with water, the water sits on my hair then slowly goes in. It takes a while for my hair to get soaked when washing but it takes a full 24hrs for my head to COMPLETELY DRY(when twisted) in small sections, when I say small I mean like 2x2 sections. But with no product it dries fairly fast and FRIZZY! My hair tangles bad when wet or dry. When I run my finger up a strand I feel tiny bumps but it's not like sandpaper nor do it feel like silk lol. I am 7years no perm but I've had keratin and colors since then(both 1yr ago). My hair is prone to frizz and breakage and dryness!! HOW CAN I HAVE CHARACTERISTICS OF BOTH POROSITIES

I've been wearing my hair in back to back braided or weave protective styles since I was young and your channel was one of the reasons that pushed me to learn and wear my hair naturally out. It's been only a week now but I'm loving it 💕💕 so thank you

I think it's best to use either mouse or gel, never both.

You needed more water for a thicker lather but the shampoo seemed to have drawn up your hair.

A clarifying shampoo will not be moisturizing, it cleanse the hair from hair products.Thats why it's supposed to be used with your own discretion.

Idk Aunt Jackie’s doesn’t have the best ingredients which could explain the results & dryness . I’d be so upset if my Moisture didn’t last to day 5

I checked a few bottles of their products in Marshalls because the prices were super cheap, and there were definitely too many chemicals for my liking. I passed on them.

Hey girl 👋🏽 unfortunately this didn’t come out good this time 😕. I do use The Giovanni eco chic technology deep conditioner, leave in, mousse, avocado oil and a shine polish. My hair is soft afterwards but I don’t get a lot of hold in the Florida heat and humidity. My hair holds better in the cooler months. I can’t use gels because no matter what it says it dries my hair out and makes it hard. So mousse is the next best less harsh thing 🤷🏽‍♀️. I don’t use cream stylers because there’s usually something in it that I’m allergic to and I didn’t see no benefit. Like it didn’t make my hairstyle any better with it vs without it so.....

Maybe a different mousse would work, but I don't trust it either. #thickitythickitythickums

Most mousse products have alcohol so dryness is going to possibly be a concern. My daughter has 4c hair and not even Nairobi which is probably the best foam, does not work on her. It’s really a case by case, texture by texture thing. If it doesn’t even resemble LOC/OLC method we don’t even try anymore 😂😂😂😂😂😂
