Just picked up a pair of Asics Nimbus 25 (from a well know auction site) for £70. They are the women's version which I prefer in Asics shoes as it gives a tighter heel/ankle lockdown. Well pleased! Ran the London Marathon in a women's pair of Glideride v1 and had absolutely no problems with my feet. Love the channel & the support of mental health awareness week.
Loving the Nimbus 25! Didn’t know I needed two recovery day shoes but I’m enjoying being able to choose between the Nimbus and More v4 on the day after a workout or long run.
Just found your channel as I’m looking to get into running. You give such honest reviews. I’ve been looking at both of these models. I suffer from non insertional tendonitis and wondered in your expert opinion which one you would recommend. Just subscribed and thanks for your honest reviews
Next time I'm looking for an easy day shoe I'll be trying the Nimbus 25. I had the Cumulus 24 and retired it after only 100km because the stack height wasn't enough and it bottomed making it too harsh on my legs. Cumulus 25 has more stack height but the Nimbus still looks more comfortable and stable.
I can't rave enough about the Nimbus 25, originally I thought it was a 2nd long run shoe to pair with my Invincible V2's. But I quickly realized the Nimbus 25 has more versatility and surprised me how capable it feels on strides. Making it a shoe that I can wear on 4/5 of my 7 runs during the week, if I wanted to, which is the definition of a daily trainer with huge upside.
Finally got my hands on the nimbus 25 last night before work. I tried it on with nike sparks socks for a few minutes while working on my desk. And good Lord it's very warm! The heat index here's currently at 30c, so goodluck with me running in these on a hot summer day, must avoid the sun then. 😂
180 miles in my Nimbus 25's now and they've been great. So comfortable and have also done my longest run in them at 18.25 miles and they great and my legs were not too badly beaten up the next day. They're holding up really well too, think these may well be good for 400 plus easy Bought on the recommendation of Fordy and bought with an Asics 15% off code so not too painful on the wallet.
What is better for standing for a long time? Also for daily use ( not into running, just a bit of treadmill + walking) and gym use (weights as well). Kinda on the heavy and tall side if that matters (90kg+). What is the most stable of the 2?
I have both of these shoes (totally unecessary), but while I think the Nimbus is more fun to run in, I’ll be doing most of my miles in the Cumulus. The reason is that my body just feels better the following day, even after a similar workout. Fordy, as a coach, I’d like to get your take on whether you think that a lot of these super squishy soft foams are more likely to cause people issues when they’re getting into/back into running. I’m in this category as I had a couple of sports injuries last year (sprained knee from skiing and separated shoulder from mountain biking), but the prior six years before last, I ran over 1,000 km per year. I’m going to continue to use the Nimbus on an isolated basis because it’s so fun, but there seems to be something about these super soft foams that doesn’t completely agree with me, maybe because my form isn’t so great? I wonder if other people have had similar experiences. Love the content, especially your honesty.
I believe this to be true because when I started back in covid and again after it ended, I went for soft but only made my knees hurt more. When I found the speeds that's when I realized I needed shoes somewhere near to them but with wider base and or different foam.
I used to run in the nimbus 10-13 ish models. Took some time off and came back with the gt 2000’s (long story). Never had issues in either but lately the 2000’s just felt so stiff and were uncomfortable. I assumed I’d go back to the nimbus but the new model looked way too soft and squishy like you guys mentioned. Played it safe with the cumulus 24 and I wish made the switch sooner. These big stack heights have me curious but I saved money buying last year’s model.
Too warm upper on the Nimbus 25 depends very much on where you live 🤪 I live on the west coast of Norway and have yet to find the upper too warm. That being said, I absolutely love the shoe for the long easy runs, can’t really describe it - it’s like putting on a plush sock that comforts and hugs your feet 🤷🏼♂️ I just bought my wife a pair for her birthday and her rotation 👍🏻
Really stuck on what to pick lol , been looking at the nimbus 26, Hoka Clifton 9’s, or brooks ghost adrenaline? Even the Nike reacts flynits 4? Can anyone help lol 😂
For me these are NOT comparable shoes. Nimbus is more neutral but for me , supinator, cumulus has just felt better for the last 3 models. Nike Zoom Vomeros were my perfect go to but quality is horrible.
Hello. Thank you for your reviews and comprehensive help. Can I know your foot length and the shoe size you use in Nimbus 25 so that I can have a reference?
I’ve got 270 miles in the Nimbus 25 and completely agree. It’s so hard for me to get away from this shoe. I just love how comfortable it is. While I have other great options in my rotation, I simply pul the nimbus 25 frequently because it’s just great especially on long runs. Great videos -
Easy as Nimbus available in the UK in 2E and 4E so that would be my pick. Cumulus offered in wide in other markets. With the Ride, Pegasus, Ghost and 880 all available in wide in the UK, Asics missing out on the daily trainer wide market.
So if an Asics fan doesn't like the instability of the Novablast but wants a similar cushioned daily+tempo shoe, what would you recommend? Cumulus 25? Evoride Speed?
Looking for something for my first half-marathon, really tempted for the Nimbus as my Hoka Clifton 8 hurt once I pass about 13k... however the half marathon is in November, and the lack of much of a grip here is worrying me a little, with half a mind on potential frost/ice. What do you reckon?
I just purchased a pair of the Nimbus 25s “worn once” for $50 online!!! They are however in a women’s size 12 (I’m a size 10.5 men). What are the differences between men and women shoes of this model? Is it stack and width that’s lower in the women’s or is it just stack height?
Hi Fordy I have running in ASICS nimbus 25. Have done 440 km in them already. I find nimbus 25 can do all training in these shoes. Been doing marathon training in nimbus 25. I will be running nimbus 25 in marathon. Cheers Luke.
I’ve got both shoes and have become a big fan of Asics. If I have to pick one, I will also choose the Nimbus25 like you (even though the Cumulus is a lighter and a bit more breathable). The Cumulus25 should be a better gym shoe than the Nimbus due to its large forefoot and heel platform. The grip is so-so but the grip on another Asics shoe is better - the Evoride Speed(a non-plated sibling of the Magic Speed model). But I didn’t like the Novablast3, it gave me hotspots😢 . Just subscribed to your channel😊
I must be the only person in the world that doesn’t get on with my nimbus 25. After 6k I get ridiculous hot spots on the balls of both feet that won’t go away (M, 50, 70KG) . I’ve got 60km in them so they are broken in but now will be a general knockabout trainer. Very disappointed given how comfy they are when not running.
Asics definitetly has a problem with the outsoles. Only Metaspeed and Magicspeed stand out. Such a bad outsole on the Nimbus25 at 200€ is a Joke. The same with the Novablast 3 and the Cumulus 25.
The nimbus is a warm warm shoe. This is one of the worst uppers. The feet felt like they were in an oven. Feet came back with blisters. Too many hot spots. I returned my pair.

Good morning. I am a light runner (65kg), my vote goes to cumulus 25. Like to Fordy. Have a great day. 🌞🏃🌞
Makes sense
Got the Nimbus 25 last week. That’s the most comfortable shoes that I’ve run in.
Porno shoes win!
Loving the Nimbus 25! Didn’t know I needed two recovery day shoes but I’m enjoying being able to choose between the Nimbus and More v4 on the day after a workout or long run.
yeah great shoe to have
I hate the drop of More V4 ...its like you wear a clown shoe...very weird feeling ...is big and shallow in the same time .
I love the Cumulus, it’s lighter, more nimble and stable.
Just found your channel as I’m looking to get into running. You give such honest reviews. I’ve been looking at both of these models. I suffer from non insertional tendonitis and wondered in your expert opinion which one you would recommend. Just subscribed and thanks for your honest reviews

Nimb 25 may feel more firm than the Cum 25.
I have nimbus 25 great shoe.
I have been training for marathon in these shoes.
Will be running in nimbus 25 marathon.
Getting the cumulus. Unsure on colour though. Will be life styling it too so maybe the black and white??

its so good
I like the Nimbus better than the Invicible. I can pick up the pace a little better in the Nimbus when needed

nimbus
@FORDY RUNS thanks for the input 🫡. Will try them more in the store, but from what I have read and saw, nimbus will probably be it
Cumulus are always the best choice. Nimbus are too soft and heavier. It's not so good for knees...
You think the Cumulus 25 is similar to the Triumph 20?
Got the Nimbus 25, yes it's too warm for Summer in Denmark. If it had mere grip in the outsole it would be awsome in fall and mild winter.
Would You, by any chance, know if the Kayano 30 is less warm for The danish weather than the Nimbus? God dag!
I have both of these shoes (totally unecessary), but while I think the Nimbus is more fun to run in, I’ll be doing most of my miles in the Cumulus. how about width? sorry for my poor english. Gel nimbus is wider than gel cumulus?
I think you're on to something and your experience (like mine) has answered your question and you made the correct adjustment.
I believe this to be true because when I started back in covid and again after it ended, I went for soft but only made my knees hurt more. When I found the speeds that's when I realized I needed shoes somewhere near to them but with wider base and or different foam.

My bad

My favorite running channel! Thanks for the review. I really feel like the Novablast has taken over for the Cumulus. Makes the Cumulus obsolete IMO
Thanks so much Andrew!!!!
Great vid - very useful! It's looking increasingly like the Glideride line is gone 😢 which of these do you think comes closest?
For me these are NOT comparable shoes. Nimbus is more neutral but for me , supinator, cumulus has just felt better for the last 3 models. Nike Zoom Vomeros were my perfect go to but quality is horrible.
Is the cumulus a rocker too.
I’d like something that feels like a nimbus with the soles softness but with a heel drop of 4mm ish

Hi, thanks for the informative video. Could you please let me know if Asics Magic Speed 3 is better than Asics GT 2000 12?
Hi Fordy! Great review had nimbus 25 for about a week now. Enjoying them for easy runs.
thanks bud glad you liking
I love the Nimbus 25, BUT…..my feet sweat sooo much. Probably a better winter running shoe. I’m buying a second Novablast 3 for my daily miles
Can you take 60 grit sandpaper and rough up the outsoles??
Totally unrelated sort of but you mentioned the Go Run Ride 11 from Skechers…I’m waiting for that review, I can’t wait almost 😅
It’s a great shoe perfect for a bit of everything
I just wonder if the Cum 25 is similar to the Nimb 24.
Easy as Nimbus available in the UK in 2E and 4E so that would be my pick. Cumulus offered in wide in other markets. With the Ride, Pegasus, Ghost and 880 all available in wide in the UK, Asics missing out on the daily trainer wide market.
good point
Since i am focusing doing more long slow distance run , i will continue using Nimbus 25 . It is such comfortble shoe to run .
100%
So if an Asics fan doesn't like the instability of the Novablast but wants a similar cushioned daily+tempo shoe, what would you recommend? Cumulus 25? Evoride Speed?
evoride speed
Chris what do you think about the Saucony Triumph 20 against Cumulus and Nimbus
too much shoe for me around the top of my foot. It is a very good shoe... very good just prefer these
Looking for something for my first half-marathon, really tempted for the Nimbus as my Hoka Clifton 8 hurt once I pass about 13k... however the half marathon is in November, and the lack of much of a grip here is worrying me a little, with half a mind on potential frost/ice.
What do you reckon?
So Nimbus 25 or Skechers Max Road?
Any intel on the new Glideride Fordy? I'm guessing it will be a nibus 25 with a dual compound and plate
Someone said it wasn’t continuing 🤦♂️ but I’m not convinced
Fordy, how does the Nimbus 25 compare to the Glideride 3 for long runs?
Softer and heavier
Nimbus 25 is too heavy for my feet, they tired too soon. Cumulus 25 is King for me. I am 97kg jogger
Makes sense
Nimbus or Superblast for easy 6 mile runs?
superblast is king for everything tbh
I just purchased a pair of the Nimbus 25s “worn once” for $50 online!!! They are however in a women’s size 12 (I’m a size 10.5 men). What are the differences between men and women shoes of this model? Is it stack and width that’s lower in the women’s or is it just stack height?
Normally there is a difference, but looking at the specs I see no difference between men and woman for just Nimbus 25.
Sorry, I was wrong, there is 1mm difference in stack height. Nothing to worry about, that’s within production margin errors anyway.
Hi Fordy I have running in ASICS nimbus 25.

I thought cumulus was shut no feed back from the mid foot, nimbus all the way even know there heavier
I must be the only person in the world that doesn’t get on with my nimbus 25. After 6k I get ridiculous hot spots on the balls of both feet that won’t go away (M, 50, 70KG) . Nope I know a couple
Tried different socks?
Asics definitetly has a problem with the outsoles. Only Metaspeed and Magicspeed stand out. Such a bad outsole on the Nimbus25 at 200€ is a Joke. The same with the Novablast 3 and the Cumulus 25.
YEP they need to up their game
Which brand according to you have the best outsoles?
@@thurules I am going to try Adidas next. Because of the Continental outsole the could do way better than the other brands
Thank you!
Welcome
The nimbus is a warm warm shoe. This is one of the worst uppers. The feet felt like they were in an oven. Feet came back with blisters. Too many hot spots. I returned my pair.
it can be warm
Which brand/model according to you have the coolest uppers?
How do they compare if at all to the saucony endorphin shift 3 pls?
Much better … softer
Hated the nimbus
Zoom fly 5 is better
Since Novablast is there the Cumulus has no reason to exist
I found the novablast a bit too unstable. And really looking to get one versatile shoe so the cumulus is a good fit for me.
Because I only have money for one 😅😅
🤣
Nimbus is the more expensive shoe
Thanks for video
