I bought this shoe after watching your video and I got it just for 72 Euros from ASICS outlet. Perfect perfect shoe, it is so easy to sit on your recovery pace, so stable. I had 14k run in the morning and my legs feel like it is 8-10k distance. Thanks for your review 🙌 I also got novablast 3 😂thanks to you
aahahh that's great to hear! Time to upgrade from the OG, I've had 3 pairs after giving the v2 a pass. Had it for one run and returned them as they were too hard for me. These look and sound amazing
I bought the GR 2's after your reviews and long term reviews. Got them with 40% off. I didn't find them too hard tbh, but now 70 miles in (as per your long review), they've definitely softened up a bit more and I'm really enjoying them. I went for them as i want to start upping the distances beyond HM. Thanks to you I've these and the speed 2's in rotation. Love the honest and genuine reviews sir
My GR 3 has already 80 miles...I use for all my long runs...and I love it...I have the 2 too, but the 3 is lighter, faster and softer with lotsbof stability...excellent!
Just had my first run in them... 10k out of the box... Unbelievable roll and shoe... Like you said eats up miles like it's nothing. Thanks for the recommendation.
I've got about 30 miles in mine and love them! Perfect mix of soft and stable for long runs. Have you checked out the Tri Noosa 14? Loving that shoe as well.
According to some other reviews ASICS now incorporated some forefoot flex into this shoe and there is now a toe spring effect, so it is not just rocker. I think this version is a significant improvement over the previous versions.
I got mine this week finally after my first order was cancelled. Lovely shoe and agree with your comments. I had some heel rub issues / blisters at the end of my run, need to tweak the lockdown. 4:45 - 5 min k’s felt effortless. They fit true to size.
I can not wait for them to be released in SA both my GR 1 and 2 has got more than 1300km on it and they are still not dead. I do enjoy the GL1 more than the GL2 .
Just received these. They are quite wide in the tow box and slightly longer than my other trainers. If i take out the insole my foot fits nicely of it though so I assume its the right size? They don't feel big everywhere else there's just more room at the end than I normally have. They feel lovely to walk in and not weird at all. Don't really notice the rocker. First run tonight.
Had a couple of runs now and I love these. The two layers work brilliantly together. I don’t really notice the rocker but love the smooth ride whether going slowly or faster.
Good update, but don't find it dramatic from the last version in run feel. It's a little softer with the new foam and the toeflex is improved, and it's lighter. It's a 6 mm drop in the new version from 5 mm. It is slightly less stable from the last version. It is a great daily trainer.
Great review. My favourite shoe ever has been the Metaride and as they are no longer easily available I got some Glideride 2's to replace them and I have not enjoyed them at all. Not nearly as comfortable. I'm looking for a replacement and I'm now wondering if the 3 may be worth a shot. Your review is making me think again????
Totally agree with the Glideride. The first was superb, like you I had three pairs! The second was a real disappointment and far too firm no matter how many miles I put in them. Do I go for the Glideride 3 or the Saucony Speed 3? 🤔🤔🤔
Thanks, good to see they're back where they should be. Really disappointed with the clunkiness on the 2's. Next pair of long run shoes will be these or Nova 3 once I wear through my current set(s).
Fordy are these the best marathon option out there for someone like me who’s not chasing a time ( I’m running Chicago in October)? Also do I need to concern myself with the 5mm drop when I’m used to 8mm drop saucony triumph 19? Thanks for another great review
Great review as always. Love the Glideride series, agree with the Glideride 2 and its firmness but still use it everytime for the long run. So looking forward to picking up a pair of the Glideride 3 now for the remainder of my marathon training. Asics seem to have found their way again after a little blip. Is there a Novablast 3 on the way?
Done subs to your channel. Your opinion is on point and truly honest. Been seeing many positive feedback of those Glideride 3. Might be getting this one to replace my novablast 1 which is not realy suitable for long run HM distance and above cause I overpronate a bit
Hi Fordy, I know this is a bit late but my question is about the use of an orthotic in this shoe, I remove the liner in my shoes and put in my own fairly chunky orthotic, do you think there is enough depth in this shoe to take this and still give me a good lockdown as alot of shoes leave me sitting up too high, thanks for the review.
I’m training for the Dublin Marathon in October and have been looking for a long run shoe. Have been using the Nike Invincible V1 and while i like the cushioning I do find them heavy. Maybe this new Glideride would be worth a go
I am looking for a comfortable and well cushioned shoe that will allow me to do slow and long runs (for cardio and weigh loss) and i am considering Nike Invincible FK 2. Is Asics Glideride 3 an alternative? Is it comparable to Nike Invincible 2 in terms of cushion?
Fordy! Hoping you can help...I'm starting marathon training and I'm in the market for a long run shoe (ideally one that can pick up the pace a bit). I'm unsure between this, the Saucony Speed 3 or is it worth waiting for the Novablast 3?? Thanks always for your reviews. Keep up the good work!
Glideride 3 vs. NB Fresh Foam More? They seem similar with a pronounced rocker, mid to low drop, and long-run level cushion. I've been wearing the More v3 for work and they're super comfy but I haven't run in them yet.
I have the zoom fly 5 incoming so not sure I need it and I know ASICS won’t send it to me after I said the first version was awful! The probs with being honest 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Fordy, I know it’s a bit off topic here, but I’m trying to find out if white shoes are cooler with sunny weather then black shoes. The internet is very “unclear” on this subject. I have some health issues with warm feet that’s why I would like to know if it helps. Any experience? Many thanks for your reply!!
Really want a pair of these but just can’t justify them yet …I’ve got a pair of More V3 for my easy long runs at the moment but these seem more like my thing.
I keep wanting to pull the plug on this, but the way you describe it sounds like how I use the Shift (v1 still) which is in my safe daily rotation already. And they seem to have a similar rocker, no?
Just scrubbed off another 8 miles with these and my feet still feel brand new after. Love em Fordy and can’t recommend enough to anybody who’s after a runner which just eats miles for fun. Much improved ASICS 👍👏👏
I had the Glideride 2 and thought they were rubbish. They were far too firm for me and I wouldn't run anything over 10 miles in them HOWEVER I'm tempted to get the version 3 after this review 🤔
Not soft shoes at all. This are my first ASICS shoes, I’ve always have used NB fresh foam and fuelcell and Adidas”s boost mid soles and this one’s feel really hard in comparison.
Interesting…let’s watch glideride 3 vs novablast 3 now 😅 Ps if I can get size I’ll get glideride 3 for under 100£ it’s a no brainier But I do like how Superblast look 😂

Just hit 50 miles in the glide 3. It’s awesome and is a great shoe for a heavy runner (210lbs).
Very much!

Same for this heavy runner 220lbs.

Agree. It’s like the nb more v3 n the Noosa had a baby
Spot on assessment
🤣🤣
I’ve just ordered these, super excited to try them! Always a fan of your detailed reviews!
Awesome! Thank you!

I have the Noosa try 14 and just ordered the glide ride 3 looking forward to comparing them!
How would you guys compare them?
According to some other reviews ASICS now incorporated some forefoot flex into this shoe and there is now a toe spring effect, so it is not just rocker. I think this version is a significant improvement over the previous versions.
What would be better Glideride 3 or speed 3 for long distance
I love this shoe. It’s just cruise control all day for 20+ miles.
So true

I’ve not had that luckily

Have a pair of 1's that are ripping and was panicking on what to replace them with, so glad to hear that the 3's are back to how the 1's were
Love mine!

Completely agree with you about the Glide Ride perfection. Cheers from Los Angeles.
Thanks bud
Great news , V2 is a bit lacklustre compared to V1 .. have to get on the look out for a deal on 3 for sure 👍
Thanks, good to see they're back where they should be. Really disappointed with the clunkiness on the 2's. Next pair of long run shoes will be these or Nova 3 once I wear through my current set(s).
Great video Chris. looks an awesome shoe. what time would you like in London thinking of going for a a time at the Abingdon marathon end of October
Thank you I’m fun running London
@@FordyRuns hope the training is going well

They will cruise round the 26.2 miles .... I did a mara a few years ago in a pair and they were a dream

Yep coming very soon
@@FordyRuns look forward to that review too 😉
Superblast vs Glideride 3??
Im loving the Reebok Energy X for my marathon prep long runs, but wondering if I should give the GR3 a try. How would you compare then? Thanks a lot.
Done subs to your channel. Your opinion is on point and truly honest. Been seeing many positive feedback of those Glideride 3. Might be getting this one to replace my novablast 1 which is not realy suitable for long run HM distance and above cause I overpronate a bit

GL3 vs New Balance Elite RC 2, which is softer and more comfortable please?
Hi Fordy, I know this is a bit late but my question is about the use of an orthotic in this shoe, I remove the liner in my shoes and put in my own fairly chunky orthotic, do you think there is enough depth in this shoe to take this and still give me a good lockdown as alot of shoes leave me sitting up too high, thanks for the review.

These!
@@FordyRuns Thanks, Fordy! Appreciate it.
Can still get v1 on the interwebs at a good price. Worth a punt as a tester for autumn / winter training? Normally use Kayano - on v28 atm.
agree with the 1 vs 2, will be tempted to get the 3

@@FordyRuns Zoom fly 5 are intriguing with the apparent changes, Will await your video and videos on them
Can you wear a pair of orthotics in these shoes I tried it in version 1 but my foot was too high and there was no room in the shoe
Great review.

Would you go for a pair of the 3 or the 1 if you had to choose now in 22 (also considering the actual Price for Version 1)?
hmmm v1 at that price but v3 rocks
How about Glideride 3 vs Hoka Mach 5?
How does it compare to the Speed? What’s its closest comparison?
Glycerin
I keep wanting to pull the plug on this, but the way you describe it sounds like how I use the Shift (v1 still) which is in my safe daily rotation already. And they seem to have a similar rocker, no?

Glad you dig 🤩
Did you ever do that Nimbus 24 performance review? How do you like it compared to the Glideride 3?
It’s scheduled to come out over summer
I had the Glideride 2 and thought they were rubbish. They were far too firm for me and I wouldn't run anything over 10 miles in them HOWEVER I'm tempted to get the version 3 after this review 🤔
Yep I can see your issue with GR2 but this is softer and lighter
It can beat adidas ultraboost, prime x. Then beat hoka clifton, arahi, bondi series, rincon. Then beat saucony ride and guide series, endorphin shift.
Searched it but asics does not offer wide in that shoe
Is it noisy? Slapping outsole?
Nope
Like Hoka Mach 4 or 5 kind of softness?
It’s beautiful

On its way and magic speed hopefully end of the month
@@FordyRuns thank you, it's seems like only you and kofuzi got the honest review
8mm drop is in my wheelhouse, but I may try these, hope my calves can handle them.
And a New metal Ride is coming?
Sounds heavy😅
Great shoe!!!
Had the first version and put 80 miles into them, but still found them too firm for me.
All this shoe needs is gel and it’s the perfect asics
I love mine
Didn’t know Bill Burr was a marathoner.
