The body is not able to choose its experience but the mind can. When you root yourself in acceptance and gratitude it will feel strange to the body for a while. You have to be patient, be unwavering in your inner peace.

Allowing the mind to choose the experience doesn't always work. When going into protection mechanisms the mind will disconnect from the body so the emotions can not be experienced or healed. This creates a disconnect and doesn't allow you to be embodied in inner peace. It creates fantasy. Inner peace requires the body.

Thank you for saying this. I have been thinking the exact same thing myself. It really is a suble balancing act, where gratitude and positivity if handled right can absolutely be a force for healing and transformation, but it can also be a bypass that makes things worse.

@@Itssmyles-bz3dy that’s great, in the context of the video it’s about has gratitude can be used as a way to bypass emotions.

Ah yes. I guess I misunderstood the point of the video. Lying to yourself about your true feelings can be harmful.

I totally agree, sure feeling gratitude and trying the fake it til you make it approach may help some people a bit but real inner work needs to be done in my experience at least, to find the root cause and heal it from there.

Yeah, totally feel and explore your inner world. I respecting. It works wonders. But also being grateful helps with the entirety of the issue at hand. This means that even though you are feeling bad, there is still good and not everything is catastrophe. But it doesn’t mean crossing over the line and saying “oh what, you have such a good life! Just be grateful just look at the good stuff you have you have no reason to feel bad!” Yeah those people don’t know what they’re saying. It’s likely they think it about their own lives so they see yours and think the same. Just like own your emotions and see the bigger picture if you want some clarity. I usually avoid advice from people that don’t have experience because people have dogmas that they think work but ultimately have no actual use in the world. Spiritual teachers have helped me the best because they know.

@@rayathorne You're right. There's no excuse for rudeness. But do you have food, warmth, shelter? Do you have to walk four miles with a jar of water and hope that you don't get shot at? Do you have to decide which of your children will eat today? Have you seen your home and family vaporised in front of you?

@@ab77blues this isn’t what the video is about - it’s talking about not dismissing your emotions. Appreciate what you have but don’t use toxic positivity or gratitude to minimise your experiences. I could make a huge list of what people dismiss by just focusing on the positive and all it does is cause more emotional trauma. This is coming from working with hundreds of people. I don’t say this lightly.
