Concerning artwork - with 5 children we had to limit art space… each had a personal bulletin board in his/her bedroom, and one space on the fridge. Once filled, a new ‘work’ could only be displayed when an older piece was removed. Which piece was the artist’s choice. Pieces too special to toss went into each child’s ‘portfolio bin’ - an under the bed plastic storage tote which also got reviewed periodically and culled. The kiddos never knew how heartless this sometimes felt, but it was done in love and for the sake of survival.
